I think "prise" might be getting confused with "prix", both French words familiar in the chess world. The S in prise, like crise or brise, should be pronouced. In prix, it is silent.
Just an idea, but it seems white has back rank tactical liabilities.. So if black can play Qe1+ etc, it could be checkmate.. possible lines, Qf4, then Bxd6, Rxd6 Rxd6, Qxd6, then perhaps playing an exchange sac Bxe4 fxe4, Nxe4, and then with an unclear position? You get two pawns for the bishop, and you gain tempo attacking white queen on d6 and threatening Nxc3 etc, OR you could maybe play Rd8 FIRST INSTEAD of the exchange sac, so yeah, i think that Qf4 gives black chances to counterattack.
if you have castled and your opponent can not castle because he or she has already moved his or her king but his or her king is still in the center, is it logical to rip open the center?
i think if this had been a five min game you would have taken on d6 instantly. its unlikely you would have seen nb5 but e5 seems more obvious once black castles queen side.
Nice video kingcrusher. This opening played looks a little like Sicilian scheveninigen with Black playing e6 and bishop e7. Now that you castle long what is this idea known as..
With Black swinging out the queen to a5 rather than a6-b5 and queen c7 , d6 and e5 should become a little weaker, allowing the exchange?
i bet your intuition told you very early that taking on d6 was correct..but you were afraid your oponent had prepared some tactical trick..is a tough situation specially at your level..i am just a patzer..but i think honestly that you wanted to take on d6. the only reason you didnt is beacuse you didnt trust your intuition enough...anyway i dont mean to critizice you...you are my favorite chess player i see all your videos
looks like your oponent challenged your intuition..suceesfully. maybe you should consider not thinking about chess like a computer...and play like a human again...
Lovely, one of you best vid! You should analyze every game like this!!!

I'm not criticising, but why do you not pronounce the 's' in "en prise"? Is that common for your peers?
markjleonard 2 years ago
it's french. You don't pronounce the 's' .

what a typically retarded american question.

I think it's a French word, just like en passant. So, you don't pronounce it like you would in English.

If after Bxd6, OOO; then Qf4? maintains the pressure.

isnt knight d5 better attacking the bishop?
if queen takes then knight can take the bishop with check? or am i missing something?
trixapete 2 years ago
i thought so too, although the (black) queen takes with check, but still it seems tempting.

At 8:53 would B h6 work?
The70656 2 years ago
Looks lihe Bh6 there would force Ne8, I can't see a great follow up for white after that.
