Traditions distingushes us from other nations so they cant assimilate us as easy. Who doesnt value it? Alot of kids, groups, clicks, or whatever theses days dont. I mean to just know where you are coming from is good enough.

Ok, I've been seeing this alot, are there only concert french horns? Or can there be marching horns also? Or Is it just 1 or the other, do they even allow marching french horns?

It is the same instrument... the bell is held at a slighty higher angle than when sitting... french horns typically play the offbeat or the 2,4 beats as well as countermelodies with the low brass ( tubas and euphoniums ).

I was in the Marine Band field 11 years before getting a lateral move to Force Recon and actually knew CWO Jacob when he was a L/Cpl. This brings back a lot of memories for me. And its NOT the "Marine Corps Hymn", its the "Marines Hymn".
