Watching Russians march is quite entertaining. With a lot of practice they are able to keep their rows straight and true. If marching was an olympic sport, the Russians would probably win lots of medals in events like the 1-man march, team-marching or tag-team-marching. It just seems like they aren't very good at figure skating, skiing or much else.

But what Eisenhower also did was destroy completely passenger trains in the U.S. In Russia you can still take a train. Try Amtrak for a pitiful experience. In the USA, after Eisenhower was elected, he developed the "National Defense Highway System," which we now refer to as the Interstate System. All those resources untapped, what is Russia waiting for? Infrastructure is key. Russia will wake up one day to find the Chinese/Japanese invading, in order to steal your resources. Another thing: Reform your army. Cruelty makes for a miserable army.

Hopefully, Japan will be able to get its islands back. Russians have been unable to pull themselves together economically for a very long time and therefore are always looking at what they can take from others. Japan is not the only victim of Russia. A couple of years ago Putin distributed a map to Russian schools showing Japan and half of Europe as belonging to Russia. They are taught from an early age that other people's stuff belongs to them.
