If you whistle, as per normal, then flick your tongue up and down against the roof of your mouth you have the basics of this whistle. Then you can develop it from there with practice.
I grew up listening to my parents' Roger Whittaker records (grin), and this song always blew me away. I swore I'd learn to do this myself. ...No luck yet... *sigh* Thanks so much for uploading!
Roger Whittaker was my favorite artist groing up and i still think he is great. I'm 36 today... still love hearing him whistle and still a huge fan of the river lady
Bizarre set but I guess a set designer has to start somewhere. Hint ; forget all you learnt at university and study what producers/directors actually use. If you think that because you have just graduated, you know everything - forget it. You are just starting to learn the business NOW and it will take many years before you can call yourself competant. If you make sets like the above in future, excpect a carrear at McDonalds and yes, they do treat their employees well, you could be a manager
Most bizarre set theme ever. I'm not sure... Mexican = orchard worker? We've got a tractor, a few propane anti-frost heaters and a ton of smudge pots. Great song, though, amazing.
Haven't heard this for over 40 yrs!! my god it brings back memories...if im rite this was on the B-side of an old Roger Whittaker song wich i cant remember now but my parents had it in the late 60s...any ideas out there?
its not about on how you whistie it,s a god givin tallent and thats what rodger had a beautiful god givin tallent.... thats it ........sid god rest himxo
Keep going. I learned a lot by just whistling a lot of flute and clarinet classical music. and when I was you age leaning the basics of tonguing on a cornet.

@daveducharme Captain Beefheart was up there, but many of his finest whistling went sadly un-recorded. Roger is jolly though.

How do you trill like that while whistling?
When I whistle, the tip of my tongue is
involuntarily pressed firmly to the bases
of my lower incisors.
