I love this song SO much.. I know the lyrics and the translation, but can someone explain what exactly it is about, what it's trying to convey? I get a very existentialistic feeling, but am I correct in this?

Nena? No Nina! My first record was one of Nina Hagen, it is still so excellent fresh.. I sense a deep melancholia in her: the observation in this poétic song express that in a more serious way. In "Naturträne" she exaggerates her depressing tendency to a magnificent absurdity...

Unique vulnerable talent....is lost in her extravagant life.

Her first album, nevertheless the rock idiom, is for me a classic of originality.

@doyoureally95 hagen is an operatist and a clown, i dig these things are fundamentals of her performance. but you trawl her photos and you'll find nary a one without makeup or contorted expressions. these things disguise her true features. is she being very shy? put that together with ufology, odd public appearances and [presumably] massive drug use, and you get the impression of someone very vulnerable. i want to get inside the head of this interesting performance artist.

Nina's mother was never an opera singer and can't sing opera, and Nina "could have been" an opera singer if she had decided to become one when she was younger. Today it would be impossible, as her voice has changed too much with too much smoking and screaming. It also seems she has sadly lost her confidence in her voice, as she's not really singing anymore these days, it's more a growling and squeaking.

hmmm, I don´t think she is under study opera singer. No, she never was and never studied it, only was listening and imitating (OK, she took lessons of singing when she was a child, around 9-10 years old, but I think we can´t consider this as real study of opera singing, you know).... But she would be fabulous opera singer in my opinion!!!!!!! SO GREAT & TALENTED! Natural talent - I love her so much last 2 weeks :) <3 <3

Spliff (damals "Nina Hagen Band") war einfach eine Zusammenstellung großartiger Musiker + als Band schlichtweg genial. Und Nina einfach eine Klasse für sich, unereichbar + unerreicht bis heute.

Man möge mir eine deutsche Sängerin von heute nennen die es an Charisma, echtem "Können", Vielseitigkeit, Charme, Sexyness, Power und Glanz auch nur ansatzweise mit ihr aufnehmen kann. Die ersten zwei Platten waren einfach der Zenit, gesegnet wer das damals mal Live erleben durfte.

Some get scared of the strange noises she makes , or by the simple fact that its german music , to bad for them ... If you lisen closely , thos strange sounds r masterfully placed , and without it behing german it would be boring . (but yet i think its the only german music i know that i like)
