  • SO TOUCHING HAD TEARS IN MY EYES THE CONTACT BETWEEN YOU SO IS AMAZING WELL DONE REALY LOVELY VIDEO SO SO IMPRESSED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The reins are tied to her belt, and she reaches up to pull on them now and again. And they are tied very very short. It's a pretty demonstration, but not that impressive.

  • @theponylady Thankyou for pointing that out, I wouldn't have noticed ; it totally changes my reaction to the video.

  • This is amazing! Brings tears to my eyes!! Gives new meaning to "Look ma! No hands!!" Incredible!! I would love to be her!! Beautiful horse and rider!! Amazing talent!!

  • Wow all my respect to Jenny! This is by far the best performance i have ever seen!!

  • sexiest horse Ive seen

  • The Lusitano is a famous Portuguese horse breed, they were also used in Bull fighting.

  • oh my gosh thats poetry in motion

  • @Onaziz

There is no curb, or it is so loose as to be without function; so no the bit is fine.

The length of the reins is fine too. When you look at reined horses working in big looping reins these seem restrictive but no it the way these horses are ridden. He is not fretting at all. This level does not happen in days or months.

  • @gmwwc - if the curb is lose, then it 'works' with greater function or weight. The chain is supposed to be adjusted so it is not tight nor lose. If it is lose then the shanks can be pulled horisontal with no resistance at all - poor horse tongue.

I still don't appreciate this horse's short frame.

  • @Onaziz i dont know this woman although i am friends with many of her friends, but it is possible that he has a straight mouthed curb and she left the chain loose. i ride in a style similar to this (french classical dressage) but i cannot imagine that this horse would be as relaxed as it is if he were in pain. as to the short frame, lusitanos are built more for extreme collection than they are for stretching out, which is why we encourage stretching down and speed work in training at home.

  • macie ktores Konie nie >>>????? sprzedania

  • She never touches the reigns. Pretty impressive. Fresians/Lusitano - weighing back and forth... Only thing is I don't think you can jump Fresians. But they sure are beautiful. Especially Vegas!... :))

  • I am going to do this with my Friesians someday. Wonderful video, even better performance!

  • @Onaziz - I went all over the description and never did find where this person was asking for your advice. You're obviously one of "those kind" of people who have to get a little dig in - or a little "I don't like" to try and fake us out that you know more. Next time - just say something nice or move on.

  • thats one of the coolest things i've ever seen. wow.

  • Beautiful <3

  • Wow i can only hope that i can get this good :D Such a beautiful piece of art <3

  • This is beautiful - does anyone happen to know how these two did in this competition?

  • @GalopaWXY

It is film music from "Hable con ella" by Pedro Almodóvar - I've got the CD but can't find it just now, so I can't tell you the title of this piece.

  • They are amazingly beautiful.....

  • And the lady does not wear spurs - unless my myopic old eyes betray me.

    5*

Brilliant amazone - I would dream I could master the art as she does.... ;)

  • I think you're right about that she isn't wearing spurs and that the amazone is amazing (and so does the horse, nya~)..

5* also here, maybe I'm going to learn the more subtle parts of working with horses x]

  • @GoatBlaat

The reigns are buttoned to her trousers though ;)

    Jealous, MOI??? Yes, yes, yes...

    :)

  • @cocochanelleke

    Whatever about those reins XD

    -here some jealousy too- xO

  • That is just insanee !

    They wer both amzing

i would lovee to be able to ride likee that

    <3

  • ole ole y ole! =O

  • it´s amasing, i woldt like to do that.

    TOTALLY LEGS

  • I love this vid. It is just a superb expression of yoy of live: Dance - Music - Nature ! I ride Spanish horses, and I know that they are born for this,(Lucitanos too).

A question for you Jenny, - Do you prepare your horses or who helps you ? It is just a wonderful accomplishment.

    regards Klaus

  • tres joli j aime beaucoup

  • vraiment superbe. Les deux ne font qu'un

  • c'est absolument magnifique

  • hmmm it almost looks like the horse listens to hand commands, or maybe its just a coincidence

    Saludos!

  • Pk ces étriers sont aussi longs???

  • whoever says this "gets boring" has no appreciation for the high level of fine-tuned communication going on here between horse and rider. Excellent performance!

  • I agree completely!! Just brilliant! Bravo!

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

  • boring?? u dont see how she work her legs?! my God this is fenomenal! i lov it!

  • gets boring after a while but a gorgeous horse i must say!(:

  • It's amazing...

  • WHOW! What a horse ! Would love to have him!

  • She isn't really riding with no hands, considering the reins are tired to her waist. Still amazing though...

  • I think the reins are tied in a knot and buckled through a d-ring. But even if they were tied to her waist, she would have no leverage or ability to manipulate the reins with her torso. She is really using her seat and leg aids, and obviously is not riding with her hands. (her hands are above her head... so, "no hands").

  • Nah, the are siloutted through the two joints on her pants on each hip bone.

  • Juste merveilleux...J'ai plus de mots...

  • I love dressage.

    It's perfect ^^

  • I love dressage. It's perfect ^^

  • Just...... wow

  • lol i know that im not too sure why i put one time... haha don't quite know why i put that! thanks for poinintg it out though- people could have got confused!

  • sweet :)

  • Fantastic!

  • I don't think her arms are any more distracting then gouging with spurs or grabbing with hands. It is supposed to be a dance. My guess is that the arms are part of the cues to the horse

  • hmm...could be slightly...

but in PROPER dressage, you are taught to be as minimalistic with your aids as possible, therefore making it look like nothing is being done. As well, you learn a lot of how to change the way the horse is performing, just by changing your seat or the way that the balance is put out.

I know it doesn't look like she is doing much work - but Im sure she is doing a heck of a lot!

  • I just saw this the first time and yeah, it looks like she´s just sitting there doing her handmoves and the horse itself remembers everything "ok here we do this, then that..girl just remember YOUR moves!" :D I always compare classical dressage to painting: the more simple the subject looks to you, the more harder it is to paint to look realistic! So the more easier the drawing looks, the more hard detailed work it has requierd ;)

  • so beautiful, but after awhile her arms become distracting.

  • I agree with every "bit" of your comment.

  • Its got a weird walk! but it is truley beautiful!

  • yeah at the begining it is pacing, which means its more of a 2 time gait, than one at a time :)

  • that wasn't for purpose ;)

  • walk is supposed to be FOUR time tact to be correct

  • That women did a good job! And the horse must be well trained too!

The horses is gorgeous, I love Lusitano's.. They're such beautiful horses!

  • nice pieaffe (spelling?) i love gait on this horse :)

  • i think its just spelt piaffe :)

  • I just googled "dressage" to see what it was... now i'm wondering who in the blue blazes thought this up! I mean I GUESS it's cool, and it's surely difficult... but yeah, who was the first person who wanted to to see a horse dance bad enough to make it happen?

  • Dressage was originally created for the horses of knights. The classical movements were used in battle and on parade.

  • warfare in general, not just for the elite at the time.

  • Who's the moron that keeps giving everyone thumbs down for praising this vid? Obviously some tard who's jealous and small in the pants because they can't accomplish what this woman does.

  • @RiotClan

perhaps less small than you might think - if you take more trouble checking ....

    ;)

  • Absolutely beautiful! Both the woman and the horse are incredibly talented. This is a true meaning of being one with the horse.

  • Love it.

    Cordialement

  • i couldn't ride with stirrups that long... i donno what the purpose of having them... very intresting to watch... I loved it!!!!

  • Amazing. So beautiful. I wish I could teach my NSH to do things like that. He's got so much energy though...

  • I was speaking about her position, and you are oh, so correct in your comments!

  • if you keep looking at the lady in the beginning and over it looks like the horse is the rest of her body xD

this is gorgeous i love spanish horses

  • Now why can't we see such a beautiful seat and comfortable horse at Grand Prix level in competition? Fabulous!

  • You don't see that kind of riding in competition because it paces at the walk and never extended in any gait. It is like comparing Irish dance to classical ballet. They are both beautiful, but totally different styles and both valid.

  • She is the female Nuno Oliveria.

  • mai visto niente di simile !!

  • Incredible. The compliment to her is she dissapearred and her partner shined.

  • i thought the horse was amazing. it's so skilled, though i'm not sure if i can say the same for the rider. I'm not sure if she was really doing anything, it only looks as if the horse had memorized it's dressage pattern and the rider was only waving her hands.

The act was absolutely amazing, but it looks like the rider isn't actually controlling the horse. Maybe she was using little subtle leg commands, and using the reins around her waist in some way that i can't see.

  • She is indeed controlling the horse. You don't always have to use reins to tell your horse what to do. You can ride on your seat only if your a skilled rider. And she is using her legs...all the time!

  • :( I accidentally gave a thumbs down when I meant to click on the thumbs up...so sorry!!! I totally agree with you, your whole comment.

  • My dear you can't possibly know much about CLASSICAL dressage to make such remarks. The reins are not tied to her waist, but to the saddle. And she is driving the horse with the delicate balance and shifting of her SEAT. It is so subtle that you can not see it. That is how skilled of a horseman she truly is.

  • You are correct at the fact that she is a true horsewoman, and beutiful rider. The comment about the reins is also correct. The pommel is much lower than the line if the rein which is in fact, attached to her.She is using her seat and her lower body to direct the horse. Her arm motion also help her steer(her arm and hand movements change her body position)but she does a beautiful job with theatrics to disguise it.The horse is well schooled and the woman is beautiful on a horse.Excellent demonstration

  • That's what it is all about - to look like "just sitting" on the horse. Influence the horse in subtle and not visible (for onlooker) way, still absolutely clear for the animal.

  • Hmmm, apparently computer monitor quality varies for the below "commenters" to your entry. She does INDEED have the reins attached to two silver buckles on the front of her pants. see 2:19-2:21 and 2:32-2:47. Clear as DAYLIGHT. It's still amazing...no tail-swishing and the horse does marvelously. Really artistic.

  • Quelle technique et quelle grâce. Epoustouflant. A faire partager absolument même auprès des non-cavaliers.

    J'ai un PRE, donnez-vous des cours ?

  • Beautiful!

What a wonderful display of horse and rider harmony!

I'm placing a link to this wonderful video on our web site!

    theroyallusitano

Thanks for such a pleasing demonstration!

This type of poetry in riding is what's missing in American riding!

    Lisa

  • You know some people, if she had walked on water they would have found a negative. I though this was beautiful.

Merci

  • Oui avec l'ADSL.

  • Would have liked it if she could take those reins off and not have them tied to her waist. That horse should be able to carry itself without the reins that tight!

    Good communication between them, though.

  • Magnifique.

  • I think she has the reins attatched to a belt round her waist... I wonder if she "uses" them like that? Intresting.

    Anyways... GREAT riding skills :D

I hope to get that good wth my horse one day.

  • Very very nice, but why bother having reins? It makes it look like they just strapped the horses head down. A truly collected horse should carry himself yes?

  • sublime!!! vous fete elevage ?

  • non, nous sommes une école de dressage.

  • d'accord merci

  • she can produce a better piaffer without her hands than most ppl can with, which most ppl cant anyways!

  • u arent kidding gooey!!! thats was absolutely horsemanship at its best! hope those people realize what they just witnessed!!! great job

  • Thats what dressage should look like..

    Instant fave..

  • wow! just shows how the seat is the ultimate aide in dressage. lovely and brilliant performance. i own PRE horses and they have forever stole my heart.

  • An inspiration!!!!

  • bravo

  • This is a Lusitano. Portuguese horse. Not a PRE.

  • Then sorry, but you have been reading some very duff history books! Can I recommend This is the Spanish Horse by Juan Llamas or The Royal Horse of Europe by Sylvia Loch.

  • I love them both HORSE & RIDER it's astonishing.

I wish them both the very best.

Keep up the Great work and do more , thank you so much.

  • What an amazing clip. Gorgeous horse, and what a fantastic rider. Just goes to show you don't need reins to ride a horse. Just wish I was at that standard, absolutely amazing, without a doubt one of my favourite You Tube clips. Beautiful, moving and inspirational

  • this is great riding! what is the music please?

  • Where was this filmed?

  • the music is beautiful whit this horse! I love it!

  • Well at least the horse looks happy. I wouldn't mind looking like her on a horse! And, for those who whinge, there's an old poem "the greatest riders in the land, are the riders in the stand".

  • Bravo Remy et Cie! C'est super jolie a voir!

  • The reins are not tied to her saddle, she is wearing some sort of belt around her mid section that the reins are attached to, therefore her body/torso movements will also aide in her control over the horse

  • Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think i have just seem one of the best riders in the world 0_o

  • also, for those people saying that the reins are too tight, if there was any more slack in them the bit would interfere with with his mouth too much & not be sitting in the correct position.

good luck to all of you that ride, and i hope that this video is a reminder of the true spirit of dressage - true harmony between horse & rider.

p.s. i apologise for the long rant, but wanted 2 get my opinion out!!

  • I agree =]

Its also the lusitano's neck, they are very thick and people can sometimes think that they are over bedning/hyperflexing. =]

  • rider is very talented with great deal of balance & very subtle aids - if you look closely you will notice she gives aids for the movements, aids that are required coz no matter how good the horse, it still needs direction concerning what it has to do. she is also using her seat very effectively to help control him. in essence no rider requires the reins for more than guidance reasons - to maintain the horse on the bit with a kind, and giving, but firm hand. (to be continued..)

  • this is a beautiful display of horse and rider. for those saying it would be better without bridle etc, i have studied (very successfully) equine exercise physiology & know that for the horse to be able to use himself in this manner, he requires the rounded outline he has - a result of contact with reins - guiding, not holding him in, so he remains on the bit & soft & supple thru out topline. (to be continued...)

  • OMG! That is so beautiful...and she makes it look sooooo easy. How many years did she put into this? Magnificent horse!

  • its leg yielding.. you should be able to ride your horse without a bridle. true riding is from the legs

  • Magnificent! Brava! An exquisite Spanisb stallion and a beautiful girl in harmony. Wonderful!

  • I have to agree, but just a quick fact: Lusitanos are a Portuguese breed.

  • My apologies - I did not see the caption saying the breed! I do know about Iberians! I breed PRE 's !

  • its not moving to her hands. watch her legs... ul see them makin little movements

  • OMG thats so awsome it looks so kl cuz he's like moving to her hands but shes not touching him and he's so cute

  • Obiously the horse isn't at all stressed out by doing this. It looks to me like he is enjoying what he is doing.

  • Jezz People just calm down, if you don't like the video don't watch it...

  • Truly awesome, this is dressage on another level, I had forgotten how beautiful classical riding is after seeing so much competition riding. Magnificent- bravo!

  • How is this classical dressage? her rains are tied to the saddle to make him put his neck under

  • Alright sweetie, this is classical dressage. Meaning that you don't have to KILL your horse's mouth in order to get him to oerform. Look at the slack in the reins.

  • UMMM, are you blind? there is not slack in the reins what so ever, and her reins are tied to the saddle forsing the horse to cum on the bit. You can not compare something like this to anky!

  • ...Here we go again. Watch her legs. Is she kicking and kicking and pushing and bashing the entire ride like anky must do to keep the horse forward because she holds it back? No. The horse is truely in tune with her seat and leg aids. She doesn't need the reins, unlike anky. She rides him properly. He can resist, but he doesn't. He's on the vertical and uphill throughout the entire performance. He is doing a proper piaffe, JaccASS.

  • well i dont agree. dont be such a narrow minded bitch! go play your guitar!

  • Actually, I play bass. Congragtulations, you just humiliated yourself in front of hundreds of viewers.

    Lots of love, Lauren.

  • Hey, you know, I don't want to argue with you anymore, so here's a video. I suppose since I'm such a narrow-minded bitch, I should just go and play my bass. So I'm sending you Paramore's misery business. Maybe you'll like it and maybe we'll have something in common.Have a nice day! Good luck with your horse! Maybe one day we'll settle this out in a crazy cage match, rocky style. But until then, enjoy yourself. ;)

  • lol i got your email, im not cut, lol your name said quitar lol so yea. i replyed to your email :D

  • What a nice moment I just had..... watching this little piece of art....;-)

  • Awesome

  • THIS is what real dressage is all about. Not that jerk-your horse's face off until he listens-crap.

  • *coughankyvangrunsvencough*

  • i doubt that that is anky cause anky has blond hair, not brown!!!!!! and plus, why would she be doing this??? if she was, she would be riding partout or krack c to "partout's tango" which is a kur composed by cees slings and victor kerkhof......

  • I didn't say it was. If you read the description, it says quite clearly that her name is Jenny. My comment was in response to bassguitarfreak4 talking about "jerk-your-horse's-face-off-until he-listens-crap", and I was referencing Anky van Grunsven's rather severe handling of her horses.
