I dont know how anyone bothered with the first one, like other comments have said I will NEVER complain about graphics and performance of my FSX, I commend the people that did buy it though because without them we wouldnt have this amazing series, hopefully MF wont ruin the legacy

I think FS 3.0's graphics overload my computer.

I first played FS 98 when I was in middle school. A teacher showed it to us in class and I thought it was the coolest thing. 12 years later I got FSX because I thought about that game one day.

@MyVideoHubOnDell There is an element of the 5.0 flight sim that is missing in the new ones... they flew really nice, I thought.... I still remember my very first take off when I was 13 years old with no clue what to do...I stalled and crashed... now I have thousands of hours real flying and those early years of flight sim definitely influenced my flying in a positive way.

@jmr604 Yeah, some things in the old flight simulators are definetely missing in new versions. I particularly miss the mouse-as-yoke feature (except in FSX, but that game runs too slow). I think mouse flying is easier and more precise, especially in the old FS games. I don't know why Microsoft removed the feature; I prefer flying with the mouse as I don't have to hold it all the time as a mouse doesn't go back to the "centre" unlike a joystick or gamepad, even if it is less realistic.

Well by what ive seen in the flight videos we have better cloud depth and better shore break waves. But really its hard to keep up with all the advances they make in the Flight simulator series, i mean every time a new release came you needed to spend thousands of dollars on new hardware and even that wouldent play it at a good frame rate. I'd love to see at least 60 FPS over Brisbane Qld Australia and a lush costal area in which it is.

MSFS 3.0 was virtually the same sim as the Commodore Amiga FS 2.0 version published by Sub-Logic. For some reason, Sub-Logic decided to continue to call it 2.0, even though it was a fairly significant advancement over the 2.0 version for the Commodore 64 and was, as stated previously, the same sim as MSFS 3.0.

@8thRRFS Actually, they weren't really the same. The Commodore Amiga FS2 was similar to the other 2.x versions, so they left the version number the same. MSFS 3.0 was a big improvement, however (in my opinion), so they decided it was going to be a new version. Strangely, FS4 is a rather minor improvement, so I think it should be called FS3.1.

@MyVideoHubOnDell Sublogic's FS 2.0 for The Amiga, even though it still had the 2.0 designation, had better graphics and more aircraft (the Learjet) then the Sublogic FS 2 for the C-64. The Sublogic version ran on the Motorola 68000 series of CPUs while the MS version was for IBM compatibles. My point is that MSFS 3.0 and Sublogic's FS2.0 for the Amiga were, essentially, identical.
