Unfortunately the law says that the phthalate - containing toys can't be made after that date, not that they can't be sold.

All Americans should be aware of this problem, the fact that there are little or no laws regulating this stuff is mind-boggling, everyone should write their congressman/woman and demand they take some sort of action!
