there are other options that are similar, but I still believe the hang is the best. Bellart Bells is an example of a similar option, also a Halo is similar... both of these tend to have waiting lists though, but a more readily available option is the Hapi ufo. That will be sent in two to seven days for something like $675

Great instrument, but a complete pisstake price wise, i found a place in indonesia that make them for about £35 or $ 80 dollars, and scumbags are buyin them up and selling on for 6 to 800 pounds sterling

@theyesofthedevil  this is untrue the real cost is 1300 Euro, PANArt is the seller, but you can only contact them through letter or fax requesting to purchase one. If you're serious about purchasing a hang, you'd better do your research because only about 400 hangs are made a year because there are only two people who hand make them in Switzerland. Chances are you'll be refused if you call it a hang drum or express that you want to play it for the music becuase to the makers it's much more.

hangdrum has the best sounding of all instruments for me.. Sorry man but you do really just improvising. there's a lot places which are not rhythmical at all, and you going out of key which is not harmonizing well.. You should really learn how to play with this precious instrument, you need to know it very well first, it takes time. Try to cover some tune or if you like to improvise so much then everybody starts with I VI II V progression, learn chord scale and play it melodically with hangdrum

hey constructive criticism is a good thing.... but this kind of crosses over into just personal opinion. Everyone has their own style, there is not only one right way to play an instrument. I think he plays beautifully!

there's simple music theory and harmony... you can really say for first time from ear, why any musician sounds bad.. that's because those mistakes are more then basics... keep rhythm, right notes, good timing, dynamic, accents.. although two last one is question of expirience but those 3 is A MUST to play without mistakes. its not opinion it's just a musician analyze of goes wrong in here.

it's sounds like first-time-piano-player. mistakes in rhythm and wrong notes on a wrong time. Just take that hang spank those dots and you'll have the scale everything will sound so NICE =) if you played any instrument before then you probably be accurate with rhythm nothing will sound right when you will hit F and B notes =)

in Lithuania one man gaved , to me and to my friend, to try a hang.. and we played even melodies and CHORDS!! :D that stuff is easy, more harder is to make real ambiance or some unexpected stuff, to broken rhythm... check more hang drum vids in there.. check video with keywords "Manu Delago hang solo" , now that's what I call a miracle!!

Because people don't sell other than economic reasons (at least I wouldn't) plus they don't make hang drums anymore (there are limited amount of hang drums in the world) and I guess incredible amount of people want to have a hang drum so the price goes higher each day, I just wish I knew such a things existence earlier

the issue is the amount of people requesting one and the amount of people making them. I'm thinking the guys at Panart *might* feel overwhelmed of how the demand increased and as they say they only have four hands - but they're not slacking off - atm I believe they took a break and each time they announce a new series of hanghang available for purchase, it's a new "version": during their breaks they pursue into studying and experimenting metallurgy and acoustics etc.

pantheon steel sells a version of the hang drum called a Halo. I just bought mine 2 months ago for $1500 u.s.

an unique and amazing instrument that ables you to enter the dimension of nature and meditation, i live in a natural reserve and need one to practice while meditating. the notes are so pure, and they´re related to chakras vibration. even the position when you´re playing is important. if you understand vajrayana´s meditation you will know of what i´m talking about. though one really need to understand it to perform its greatness.
