  • is it ok to mix jm4 in other guitar fx i got my pedal board already but what i do not have is a looper.. im choosing between boss rc-30 and a digitech jaman., then is saw this vid..which is which of the three? tnx

  • @madrc570

Put a volume pedal after it and mute the output on the "count in"?

I don't have this pedal... just a thought

  • I like that he explains something while the music is so high that you can´t hear what he says xD

  • I am not decided yet between the Line 6 JM4, and the Digitech JamMan JML2

what are the main differences between the two?

Can I sing with a microphone while playing (soloing) over a loop and the sound be projected out of the amp simultaneously?

Also, Can I record myself with a camera (or different method) If I am to record my voice while playing (soloing)? I want to use this for youtube video of my playing.

    thanks

  • Cacaphun!

  • him: HI ....me: AHHHHH

  • nice you convinced me to buy that looper

  • play play play guitar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! much talk!

  • I have to say this line 6 looper blows the competition away. I should have known. I just traded one of my old line 6 pedals for A new digitech looper (jamman)and it really sucks bad.Its great if you only use clean channel, but if you use any distortion at all it double distorts and sounds worst than horrible.Line 6 is great stuff.

  • GaRooovy man-dude!

  • Great demo. Thanks. BTW, are you using a computer voice model?

  • Great demo and nice playing. Keep them coming.

  • You sound like steven hawkings... But ya'know:P EPIC VIDEO!! :D

  • Can you upload your jam at your pc after you're done? If yes in what format it saves them? Thanks

  • that is awesome !: D did he come up with that ? LOL ! if i had 300€ i would get this now

  • eeh 300€ damn i need this :DDD

  • EXCELENT ....thanks....there are 4 anormal freaks that dont like this good video

  • That sweater is baller. Thanks for the demo.

  • i'm searching for a effect processor pedal..for my voice..i'm beatboxing...:)...somebody can help me?

  • Genius work

  • 2:30 did he make that up?

  • @xyzaffair12345 Yes, he did. :)

  • I can buy the Line 6 JM4, but where can I get the ability to jam as well as this guy? :)

  • ha every sound sounds pretty good to him

  • Buddy its all about the feel and you got it

  • The only think I wish the JM4 have is stereo loops. It's only mono but it's excellent to play live, record, modeling the guitar (in mono obviusly).

  • Thanks Joe Walsh!

  • Line 6 should pay you royalties for this! - I enjoy your jamtracks too dude, thanks for puttin' those out.

  • does this work well with bass? does it lose quality?

  • @jszetho its great for bass i tried and it sounded amazig, recommend to get it. worth every penny.

  • that pedal is awsome...so was his skill as a guitarist, but im afraid that i find it hard to listen to him because he shows no real emotion or personlity so his voice shows out to be boring.........

  • Great Job !! loved it !

  • u can keep loops seperate in boss rc50 just dont overlap ( overdub. ) is that what u ask? how to keep each extra overdub as a seperatable loop? ? no u cant.

  • Whoever the dweebs were that placed dislikes on this demonstration are sub-human.

  • what is that guitar? i have one like it but my hasn' got name on the head

  • @vorsoner im sure that is Suhr guitar

  • Cool! Lots of fun.

  • Can one simulate a bass guitar with a normal guitar on this device?

  • How much does it cost???

  • human centipede guyy

  • les paul started looper pedals with the les pulveriser

  • @generatemusic the ehx 2880 looping pedal is what you want.

  • Boomerang.

  • how many drum tracks are included that are "not" jam tracks... out of the total 100?

Thanks again... I'm almost ready to buy!

  • it always sounds" CLICK "so strong?.... what if I want to record in a studio?

  • fantastic that's the word yeaP =)

  • Does anyone know of a loop pedal/unit that works like a "tracking" sketch pad... like it would keep at least a few of the loops separate so I could drop them in the computer later as individual tracks if I like the ideas?

Seems most keep merging as they record each pass.

I just can't see building something great and them not being able to use the parts individually in the computer.

If not, then that is the next options they need to add the these great pedals.

    Thanks

  • @generatemusic Good question, I don't know any pedals that keep all loops individually. Boss RC50 maybe?

  • @rotren

Thanks.. does it have an Octave divider for bass lines included in the fx... or a way to drop guitars down an octave?

  • @generatemusic

You can export the tracks individually of the JM4. During the mix down just fade out the other tracks and import them to your DAW as separate tracks, all the tracks should line up.

  • @MezcalPromotions

Hey Thanks... what do you mean during mixdown and fade-out?

Line6 has now responded to an email I sent... saying it's "not" possible to keep the tracks separate??

    Do you own the JM4?

    Please let me know.

  • @generatemusic Hey sorry, I guess I misunderstood your question. Individual guitar takes cannot be separated. Just the entire guitar track itself can. (Separate from Drums and/or Mic tracks). But you probably already know that by now, and yea I do own a JM4.

  • @generatemusic Yeah Rotren is right, the Boss RC-50 has 3 'phrases' on which you can store loops. So basically you got 3 'Tracks'. I got the Boss RC-50 and I must say it's all I ever wanted.

  • @generatemusic

try the boss RC pedals. I use the 20, but the 2 is a good unit, the 50 is incredible, and they have aux out, so you can tap the signal with a control station such as a PC. The software would be the issue after this...

  • @generatemusic The Electro harmonix 2880 has a multitrack looper. You need a separate foot controller (made specifically for this pedal) to really make it effective.

  • Definitely something to look forward to. Digital Performer has a feature called Polar that does RAM based loop recording that does this, but it's not on a pedal of course which would be great.

  • @generatemusic possibly the Digitech Jam Man Looper

  • @generatemusic Buy a usb condensor mic and download Reaper. Then you can record and track whatever you want.

  • @generatemusic Electro harmonix 2880, its not cheap but it will do what you want. On a budget? try the Digitech gnx3, it will keep up to eight tracks seperate BUT its a bit more difficult to use.

  • @generatemusic The digitech jamman solo does exactly that and has a removable SD card memory, i got one a month ago, worth every penny!

  • @bencody21 so does the jm4 and you can plug multible instruments in it once. so like have a bandpractice with your friends and yo only need one amp.

  • @bencody21 but the jamman doesn't have built in tracks and effects, does it?

  • @generatemusic You can actually use the new Logic Main Stage feature with a Apogee footcontroller to individually control tracks in real time. I think you can even do it to a metronome synced in logic via in ear as a separate channel if you want to get your live tracking super tight.

  • Excellent presentation! And you play beautifully! Thanks for the demo. I'm sold! How about some country and western for an old Texas boy? I know you can play it!

  • Excellent video. I appreciate you putting it together. I have been having trouble recording to the sd card to transfer to my computer. Have you had any success with transferring your recordings?

  • @rockrollmachine I have not tried.

  • @rockrollmachine i know that you press the save btton and then you scroll down to save to sd card. i have not tried this yet but im guessing you can get the sd cards recordings on itunes then burn a cd of your own music if you want. i hope this helps

  • only one bad thing about the jm4 is that i cant record vocals and guitar at the same time, otherwise i have a lot fun with this machine,

  • line 6 should be paying you a lot of royalties, because you must have sold 20,000 of these things from this video! what a great demo!

  • hi there , can you use the looper with a keyboard and electric drums ? cheers ,jimmy

  • @j7777777 Yes.

  • @rotren not a good idea

  • @jalalflame What is not a good idea?

  • Very good demo. I am impressed with the looper's capabilities. You give a really good demo. And you play well, also. Thanks!

  • If I'm in a trio but I need a rhythm guitar being played the whole time, can I record it to a "click" instead of a designated drum beat? If so, can the real drummer hear this click without it coming through the amp somehow?

  • Beautiful Suhr guitar!

  • Phenominal demo

  • Are playing the JM4 through an amp? Can you play it through your PC also?

  • is there a way of connecting this to your pc so you can put what you have recorded on your computer ?

  • @jacklovesmanutd You can't connect it to a computer, but you can use an SD memory card for increased storage and for adding more jam tracks to the JM4.

  • @rotren aahhh nice one :) sorry, just one more question: is it possible to change the tempo of the drum patterns ?

  • @jacklovesmanutd Yes you can change the speed as you want.

  • @rotren Can you also change the tuning of the on-board tracks? For example...from E to Eb ? ...basically, dropped down 1/2 step?

  • @SingleCoilVoodoo Yes, you can.

  • OK, I'm convinced - I have to have one!

  • can you save any of these jams directly to the machine?

  • @ericcampeau7 You can save any jam as a recording. You can also transfer your recording to your computer via the SD card (if you have one).

  • hi, is the output Analog or Digital? and when uploaded on the pc do they come in different tracks so i can edit them? thanks

  • @DubaiGuy05 You have analog outputs like any other unit. I haven't tried transferring the files to my computer but I imagine they are just WAV files - does anyone know?

  • @DubaiGuy05

Hey, did you ever find a looper that keeps the tracks separate for editing into the computer?

  • uuuuuuhhh I want this shiit sooo bad! thank you very much for this video, it helpd me a lot!

  • when i plug this in , should i just use the clean channel on my amp ?

  • This guy reminds me of the G man from halflife...

  • Hi rotren, yesterday i was at a music store and trying to figure out JM4's drum. I tried some drum there are many demo but i want rid off bass or other enstruments. Is there any option play only rhythm in it? Thanks for nice video. Peace.

  • @baymagic Yes, the unit has tons of drum loops to which you can jam along.

  • @rotren Thank you. I hope, I can find easy. Happy melodies days.

  • Nice product.. great guitar playing too!

  • what kind of cable r u using and what amp i dont know if it will work with my peavey vypyr 30 that's the only amp i have please tell me if it will work with the vypyr.

  • @GrahamMeek1 It will work with any amp. Any regular guitar cord from the JM4 to your amp will do it.

  • does it work with a peavey vypyr 30?

  • can you hook this up into any amp?

  • @GrahamMeek1 Yes indeed.

  • Nice guitar! Are those Texas Special pickups?

  • Nice guitar! Are those Texas Special pickups?

  • @fergot02 no, they are Suhr V60LP pickups - seriously good pickups.

  • hey u just gave me a cavity because your playin' is sweet my friend !!!

  • the more products i see by line6 I'm just amazed at what they offer for the money.

  • That's a nifty gadget, but mostly it's your tasty playing that sounds so good.

  • line 6, lol

  • Hi, Bob!

Here is Carlos Bluesman from Brazil. Does "Spider Jam" Line 6 amp, has this same playback that you are using?

    Tight hugzzz!

  • cool.. 5/5

  • Robert, You are a very versatile and accomplished player, very smooth and tasty,

    and you can Rock too!

  • I like this .. It is a great alternative "jamming" equipment

  • are you endorsed by line6?

  • No. Robert just knows what he likes. :)

  • No.

  • well done demo

  • Robert, another great video. Question: Are you playing through and amp or a p.a.?

  • Through my Marshall amp.

  • THIS PEDAL IS SO COOL !

  • Awesome!

  • jazz ritimos ?

  • very good !!

  • can you switch of the amp simulation and use it as a "normal" looper in your setup/pedal rig?

  • Thanks for a great review - again!

The unit seems to be user friendly and sound great and you show it like a pro.

Keep those videos coming, you rock my friend!

  • INSTANT LOCKERZ INVITE PM ME

  • Your playing has a beautiful feel no matter what tone your playing with. It instantly seems to work so well, with both melody and phrasing.

  • i just want a looper that fits on my pedal board. don't need anything just a looper. does anyone know of one that works? the boss rc2 is no good.

  • the new digitech solo jamman its awesome and small and i believe quite cheap!

  • rc2 for me is the best compact pedal man.. lovin it' such lush sound.. you can check the sound on my page..

  • with the rc2 when i want to clear the memory, to record a new loop, the old one starts playing for 3 secs. how do you get around that? i can't use my hands, just my foot. i'm playing live. if you could tell me how to get around that the rc2 would work

  • Have you tried the external footswitch?

  • no, but that takes up extra real estate on my board :(

  • and true bybass. important.

  • You look almost exactly like Jarmo Kuokkanen!

  • 2:30 sounds like AC/DC lol

  • It is a very happy item.

  • うまい。これだけ使いこなせたら楽しいでしょうね。

  • Another great review, Robert. Thanks!!
