Hey Quelaag. Long time subber here. First of all, I just want to say thanks for all your DrkS lore videos. Personally I'd like to see more, but I'm excited about you making KF lore vids as well. Do whatever feels rewarding to you.
I'm a long time subber of ENB too, and like his videos as well. Both of you have a burning passion for this game, and I feel lucky to be able to enjoy the disparities of your thoughts and views. You've made me a lot more conscious to the subtle lore of DrkS ;-)
I was playing Demon's souls last night and I noticed that at the bottom of Latria in the muck where the Centipede Men are there are several Dreglings (I guess - human forms) which are mounted on carriage wheels. I know that was a torture device, and I don't think there's any specific correlation but I just never noticed them before and it reminded me of the Bonewheel skeletons from Dark Souls. Just another kinda cool "tie-in" between games.
@stolenrims Yeah! I noticed that too. Down in the blood swamp. Funny thing is people weren't really displayed like that. That's more of a "Berserk" reference I think. Same with the skeleton wheels.

Not to offend or piss anybody off, but after watching a few of your episodes after Epic send me here, I decided to stick to him. I prefer his style, sticking to what the game gives us and keeping his theories very close to the item descriptions and NPC dialogs, while you often give really far off and start talking off topic, like when you mentioned Greek mythology and talked about it for a minute or two. I liked your "everything is on trees" theory, but your style is just not my style.
@SinnerBeta The trees supporting lordran is something that is physically in the game. (You can see it for yourself). And that's fine. :) However my Gods video has all item descriptions etc. You just watched my "settings" videos which focus on the artistic direction and cultural inspiration for the atmosphere and "world".
i can honestly say i wouled watch anything you do even if not about dks, and i been trying to find out about the pendent as well{my choice of picking it} there ahs to be more then just giving it to snuggly

I've only played a little over a dozen hours of King's Field: The Ancient City (PS2). I liked seeing the similarities in item description to weight management, up to methodical combat. The game plays a little stiff, though. I'd be interested in an LP, sounds good, maybe I'll pick the game up again and play along.
First of all I live in Los Angeles and we don't have basements. Secondly I have a Fiance who is super sexy, probably the type of Girl u only wish u had the stones to talk to. I loved the King's Field games. Mostly the Verdite ones. I never played the original one, but the NA released ones I played to death. For one I never would figure out the Story( or pronunciation lol) of Thedek the Fire Mage. I actually based my years spanning wow mage off of him, well named him that anyway, but I never could be quite sure on what went on in his story.... and as I was going to make a skyrim mage more off the KF one I was wondering exactly what happened for his story.

@ziggyzagman To get to "Ash Lake" you have to enter and make your way down "The Great Hollow". You can find the entrance to "The Great Hollow" in "Blightown" just to the left of the Bonfire on the Swamp floor. It looks like a big Tree Root. Make your way up and there will be a Soul, grab it and roll through the illusory wall, after that you will see a chest, and behind it is another illusory wall. Go ahead and roll through that and you will be in "The Great Hollow"...

I hope to see a collaborated effort from the team posting the abstract story/ambient elements, and that of the folks discussing the more literal/tangible plot facts. Keep doing what you do, girl. Thankfully I posted now and never interupted epics comment there :P Anyway I just wanted to say I agree totally with epic, Theres never enough dark souls stuff out there its just a brilliant experience. I came on here to find out more about it and found amazing videos like epics and others, I started a walkthrough on my own channel of it due to the inspiration and theres a few people with way more subs than myself that do it but it wont stop me, keep going, im sure your subs will apreciate it :)
A lot of people hate how I put things together or focus too much on dialogue or text, too. I think many people are more comfortable with your style. It's a different approach, and I think that, if you quit making DkS lore videos while you still have something to say about it, it's a loss for the community as a whole.
You've got nothing but love and support coming from ENB, "Kellog!" And I know that a lot of other people feel the same way. Make the vids that you want to make! :D

Like I said, it was really painful trying to communicate a lot of this with the equipment that I had. I literally get messages all day saying "I can't hear you ;_;". @EpicNameBro Me, another user and I have been exhanging information and ideas about the relationships of all the games. They are definitely there - not just loose interpretations. :3 But yeah, be careful with item stuff. I think the reason why a lot of that get messy is because of really poor translation errors. While the NPC dialog was all in english - all of the item text descriptions DID require translation. :C So some meaning can definitely be lost or misconstrued.

@Quelaag The Sewer Chamber Key's English description strongly suggests that humans can be caused to turn undead, but the Japanese description doesn't. There are also dialogues that support that idea, but yeah... the key doesn't. Many people are citing some of Solaire's dialogues as evidence for that idea, but I'm not sure now.
@EpicNameBro Yeah - that whole theory and the concept of "hollowed" / being "undead" are severely flawed. As well as the concept of the "dark sign". I remember before that Fromsoft was going to name the game "Dark Race" then "Dark Ring" but both had obviously racial and apparently sexual?? (wtf UK) meanings. Then if you die and loose your humanity in the process (if I remember correctly - I know the patch changed it) it used to say "YOU HOLLOWED LOL *respawn*" So. Hhh? Dunno. Too much is lost.
@EpicNameBro But I think a hint lies in the concept of the asylum and the prologue. "Where the undead are corralled to wait for the end of the world" or whatever. And then there's that paladin from Londo as well as other weird slivers of evidence.

I've only played a little over a dozen hours of King's Field: The Ancient City (PS2). I liked seeing the similarities in item description to weight management, up to methodical combat. I loved the King's Field games. Mostly the Verdite ones. I never played the original one, but the NA released ones I played to death. For one I never would figure out the Story( or pronunciation lol) of Thedek the Fire Mage. I actually based my years spanning wow mage off of him, well named him that anyway, but I never could be quite sure on what went on in his story.... and as I was going to make a skyrim mage more off the KF one I was wondering exactly what happened for his story.

@ziggyzagman To get to "Ash Lake" you have to enter and make your way down "The Great Hollow". You can find the entrance to "The Great Hollow" in "Blightown" just to the left of the Bonfire on the Swamp floor. It looks like a big Tree Root. Make your way up and there will be a Soul, grab it and roll through the illusory wall, after that you will see a chest, and behind it is another illusory wall. Go ahead and roll through that and you will be in "The Great Hollow"...

I enjoy games of all genres and mediums. That being said, it's easy to find the very best of games by the way it reflects its nature in its community. Dark Souls is a rich, thoughtful experience; Dealing with the fans of Dark Souls is also a rich, thoughtful experience. I hope to see a collaborated effort from the team posting the abstract story/ambient elements, and that of the folks discussing the more literal/tangible plot facts. Keep doing what you do, girl. I get where your coming from when you want to stop making Dark souls lore vids. It's kinda what i would do ... i'd do something that nobody else (almost) does and when everyone starts doing it i want to stop. BUT your viewers and subscribers will know that your one of the first to have an in depth lore video. If you have more to discuss about it, don't stop. A lot of people hate how I put things together or focus too much on dialogue or text, too. I think many people are more comfortable with your style. It's a different approach, and I think that, if you quit making DkS lore videos while you still have something to say about it, it's a loss for the community as a whole.

@EpicNameBro Me, another user and I have been exhanging information and ideas about the relationships of all the games. They are definitely there - not just loose interpretations. :3 But yeah, be careful with item stuff. I think the reason why a lot of that get messy is because of really poor translation errors. While the NPC dialog was all in english - all of the item text descriptions DID require translation. :C So some meaning can definitely be lost or misconstrued.

@Quelaag The Sewer Chamber Key's English description strongly suggests that humans can be caused to turn undead, but the Japanese description doesn't. There are also dialogues that support that idea, but yeah... the key doesn't. Many people are citing some of Solaire's dialogues as evidence for that idea, but I'm not sure now.
