The lead investigator for the case is equally as intelligent, but is very interesting because he demonstrates essentially autistic qualities. It's the only anime I ever liked.

I think it's funny that people are saying this second intro doesn't fit the show at all. I have to disagree with their statements. The show does take quite the drastic turn, and become that chaotic toward the end. Sure it's all mental intrigue and investigation but just watch the last episode. You may see what I'm saying. This is only my opinion. So if you think it didn't fit, it's cool. I enjoy it and think it fits the second half of the series well. That and the song is just awesome.

I used to hate this introduction but it's grown on me, as I realize its disjointed, chaotic, screaming approach is extremely representative of Light's fracturing mind. Bear in mind how he acts at the beginning of the series, and compare it to the end - this intro, I think, is spoken from his viewpoint, and shows how disorganized and crazed he's become. They're good songs for what they do - phasing us in and out of the chaos of the second season.
