rather dumb question hear but does the roof still go up n down the same etc seeing as its had to be modded slightly? been lookin for vids on this but cant find nothing
@TheHutchy180 The roof does use the original mr2 roadster mechanism, but the rear part attaches to the rear deck prior to securing the front of the roof, it's not the easiest thing to describe, but once you get used to it, the roof can be up and down fairly quickly, especially if you have another pair of hands on the other side of the car. I've got a little work to do on my car, but when i've finished, i'll see if i can post a vid of the method for putting the roof up and down.
@beanyfelix yehhh i sorta get how you mean, is it no longer automatic by the button? a video would be much appreciated when possible mate,, cheers for the reply
@TheHutchy180 Correct, no electrics, all manual. Although i'm sur some one will make one work electronically at some point. Pretty much anything is possible with the knowledge, patience and funding. lol.
these shitty custom duty taxes. will cost 140% or more to import. do you know if it will be charged according to price of replica [say if its 20 thousand bucks] or according to real 430s price ?? O.o
The DNA Owners Club website/Forum is where you will find the answers to all your questions. With the right donor car, and completeing all the work yourself a car can be built for somewhere in the region of £20,000. The company also produces an F360 kit and more recently a F430 Scuderia replica, using the Ford Cougar as a base.
At present i am running with the standard Toyota 1.8VVTi, from the MR2 Roadster, which the car is based on. This is run through a Stainless Steel DNA exhaust, which does a pretty good job of sounding like the original, considering there is only 4 cylinders. I plan to do some engine mods in the future. Other builders have fitted Turbochargers or Superchargers and some have carried out V6 and even V8 engine transplants.
The DNA product is probably the best kit available at present. It is exactly the same width and height as a genuine F430 and is less than two inches shorter than an original, so even parked side by side, the difference in length would still be hard to spot. There are other manufacturers who's product is exceptionally short and does not look right proportionally. So, "short Kind of" uh No! Not really.
If i had friends rich enough to own a genuine F430, i'd do just that. lol.
The best i can tell you is that there was a magazine article recently on another DNA car which included a photo of it parked next to a genuine F430, both were Rosso Corsa red. I showed the photo to half a dozen people and asked them to pick out the replica.

@beanyfelix
You should park it next to the real thing, and make a video so people don't have doubts.

They all got it wrong!

@henryz00 not even noticeable due to the shortness being spread out throught the entire kit.
