This video was a great demonstration for how to use the fix-it pen. Thanks for showing that it actually did work and for pointing out some of the potential problems with using this product.
I bought this at the "As Seen on TV" store after scratching a rental car. After buffing off the transfer paint, I used this to cover up the scratch and got away with returning the rental. Best $10 I spent instead of the insurance.
In the ORIGINAL advert they used reverse filming, the car bodywork was unblemished to start with then they inserted a small blade into the tip of the Fix It Pro pen. They then pulled the pen across the paintwork leaving a thin scratch. Next they play back the video in reverse so it appears that the scratch is already there and is being wiped out by the pen....
a me sembrano piccole strisce di makkie, piuttosto che graffi. Anche se sono graffi, sono quei graffi che possono essere elimati anche con pasta abrasiva!!!
Thanks. Good video to see, demonstrates what I wanted to know but there were points where I was struggling to hear you talk over the music on my laptop.
@TwoEyeCyclops I think he /meant/ "If you apply it not in the shade or don't let it cure in the sun..." At least, that's what the directions say. If you apply it in direct sunlight, you run the risk of the product curing too quickly as well as it curing in the pen itself which would cause the pen to be useless. I would think that if you don't move the vehicle, or expose it, to direct sunlight /after/ application, it won't set properly.
This is basically an acrylic filler... you shld. be able to get those scratches you filled in smoothed out with some rubbing compound. However you will have to use successive polishing compounds to attain a scratch free finish.
how long does it last?

The problem is it doesn stay on. It comes off after several car washes or right away from a buffing job.

What do you mean by "not in the shade" or "not in the sun?"

@TwoEyeCyclops He means not in the sun. Only apply it in the shade and let it dry there.

You're supposed to put it on and then buff it off like 5 seconds after, It does work quite well if you do it like that on small scratches
