I was also born and raised in the Lds church, like Shawn, and it really bothers me when Lds commenters say bad things about him, just because they dont like his beliefs and works. Stop worrying about what you look like and what Shawn looks like.
too many chistians dont really DO much. we are told to "have faith in.." "trust in.." etc.. but not too often are we aware that the ONLY thing that really matters is "BE this..". i hate it when people even uter the words "ALL we have to do is trust in the savior"... so i have a beef with all of christianity. yea, i know, christians DO things, but that's not the main focus, it's the result of belief. and dont pull the "works cant save.." thing.
This man is full of hate - that is his message to the world. I will follow Jesus Christ and his chosen apostles and prophets as found in The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints.
The mormon church has made it's members want things they don't need or exist by linking mass produced LDS doctrine and ideas to peoples unconscious desires. Out of this comes a new political idea of how to control the membership. By satisfying members inner selfish desires, the church has made it's people happy and thus docile. The start of the all consuming self, man-made idols of the self, which has come to dominate the church today. The church of Joseph Smith and his latter day saints.
@BasicInsB4LvingEarth lol.. of course you can.. very good :o) ... but it doesn't change the fact it isn't Christian in nature, or doctrine. I suppose a descending a ladder is better than jumping..!
The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool”.
This is more true than you realise. It’s true because when you’ve fooled yourself, you don’t know it. You convince yourself that you haven’t fooled yourself, and you develop a conviction, a faith, a belief about it. You'll be quite irrational in defence of this belief. You won't test your belief in an empirical scientific fashion. Instead, when challenged, you'll become defensive or incredulous.
Really you left Christ and now follow Joseph smith and represent those leaders who are liars and have had their people kill women and children in the mountain meadow massacre.
I have more Catholic friends that I can tell are truly Christian than Mormons that I have known through the years that I can say are truly Christian. I was in 4 wards and I can think of maybe 2 I could tell were born-again Christians. And is a sad thing to realize, but the product of Mormonism is leading people away from Jesus Christ or de-emphasizing his importance with lots of other stuff that is equally important to salvation.
@TheLogos1 I was a Baptist till I was 17 years old and I never knew the real Jesus until I joined the Latter-Day-Saint church. The Latter-Day-Saint church revolves around our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as our redeemer and savior. I know Jesus better because I have joined the Mormon church.
Our ward is about half-empty just since last year? The very secure, and wealthy land and business owners are still there from 10 years ago. It is not a living and growing deal. The Women cry about Jesus and seem loving and giving, but the men want to know what we think of Joseph Smith and volunteering. It is all work and no fellowship. We are sad about that. Thank God ,God lives in my heart ,and not in anyone's opinion ! Funny you made this now-guess we are not the only sad ones.love
Thus there are, in the Eternal Godhead, three persons--God the first, the Creator; God the second, the Redeemer; and God the third, the Testator. These three are one--one God if you will--in purposes, in powers, and in perfections. But each has his own severable work to perform, and mankind has a defined and known and specific relationship to each one of them. It is of these relationships that we shall now speak.
What you say is so true about, if ONE family member would have the courage to make the step and talk openly about leaving this "church." That family members would follow.
It just takes courage and personal integrity. You don't have to stand up and defend the nonsense.
I found out that the Mormon God was not the Lord in the Bible and the relationship can be totally different. :)
@beachlady78 I had courage to leave the Baptist church when I was 17 years old to join the Latter Day Saint church. Best thing I have ever done in my life.
@perschka1 Courage? Is there an official Baptist church that has a database that tracks it's members and watches them like the Mormon Church of Joseph Smith and the his latter day saints? No there isn't. Mormon's do not believe in the same Jesus. He is not God to the mormons.
@perschka1 Yes there is only one Jesus. If you believe Jesus is not God, that is not the same Jesus of the Holy Bible. Jesus is God. He was there in beginning. Mormonism teaches God was once a man like us. (not talking Jesus here on earth) There are too many other fallacies to list about the "mormon Jesus", and mormon teaching of God(s), Trinity etc.
@BasicInsB4LvingEarth I prefer to think of God as "multiune" meaning that He is not to be placed in a box, or limited by us in any way. To say that God is a trinity. or a unity like the oneness people do is to deny both His singleness, and omnipresence. There is nothing in the Bible that states that God is 3 persons, nor is there anything in the Bible that states that we must understand God's nature to be saved, and part of His church. continued
We do have to believe that there is ONLY one God, and that somehow, Jesus is part of that God, the Father is part of that God, and the Holy Spirit is part of that God. Beyond that, we really have no reason to bicker and take sides, it's just pointless. In actuality, we only have to trust in Jesus as our savior to be saved, the rest is not as important. Mormonism's blasphemy is in saying that God is a former man, and that we can become gods, not in saying that there is no trinity.
@BasicInsB4LvingEarth You have no idea what occurred with the Father prior to the Bible, it is never stated. Therefore to state that what we teach is incorrect is without basis in fact. Please feel free to state the fallacies as you understand them, but you will find nothing wrong with the LDS conception of Heavenly Father and Jesus, except that there is more than you understand.
I was also born and raised in the Lds church, like Shawn, and it really bothers me when Lds commenters say bad things about him, just because they dont like his beliefs and works. Stop worrying about what you look like and what Shawn looks like.
