You missed "Glory Hoggers" the ones that, neither spam nor button mash, but simply just do NOT let you hit them, at all. Even if they're going to win, they won't even let you try and fight back. Once I realize that's what they are, I place the controler on the floor and watch because I figure why bother playing someone so obsessed with winning? Same rule for spammers, mashers and elites. If they won't give you a chance, then don't fight them at all. I do this in hopes some of them will REALIZE..

You don't find the best spammers, some spammers are more pathetic than the spammers in your video, and at the round with sophitia style you spam a little.... but honestly i understand you versus a spammer the best way to defeat him is SPAM !! ( and it make him angry so funny ;) )

I've finally found out how frustrating spammers can be especially if a Cervantes uses "that" stun combo or I meet a Mitsurugi - 66BB, 1A, 2KB... Rinse and repeat. I can't understand the mentality of them for my life.

Af first Cervantes was the toughest to fight online because of that stoooopid move where he teleports back, but people spam the crap out of it so know his moves are easy to dodge. :'D
need anti-mitsu spammer trick! they keep switching B,B to 2K,B. sometimes1A. cant duck cuss off B,B and cant sidestep cuss of 2K,B. an usually mitsu is too fast to pop in an attack myself. 2K is too quick. what do i do? :(
@TheNetherlandElite Well what style are you using? If you know the combos, got to training record the moves and you can practice blocking and evading them. If that still gives you trouble, send me a message.
@RazeSlayer i'm using ivy style. i know how to block&evade both attacks but they are too fast to react to. i'm always stuck, do i block high or low? which of the 2 attacks he use next? high or low? an yes i can block sometimes with a lucky guess of high or low but opponent just keep whacking the fast moves so i cant counter any :S i tried a lot but i feel completely powerless when up close. an trust me i'm no noob but i just get...stuck :S
@TheNetherlandElite Ok. I am a Misurugi fighter. The only moves you have to really worry about is the low ones. The character usually conveys their movement a split second before they attack and that is where your block comes in. For me, I block only as much as necessary and explode out in punishing combos. If you can get the upperhand early and force them on the defensive. If they are spammer, mix it up. Don't use the same moves or they'll figure out the pattern. Other than that, practice.
@RazeSlayer that's about how you are suppose to play mitsurugi. or so i was told. i play as him too. but i play more aggressively. i tend to not give the other opponent a chance to do anything by pummeling him/her with combos. of course i do have a few defensive traps that i use when necessary. but when it comes to spammers i just wait till they attack then i hit them with a guard impact and punish them for spamming.
@shirimetsuritsuryu Yeah its a good idea but you still should be careful. I only wish people would actually fight rather than spamming the same moves again and again. A good way to win is to maximize style knowledge. For me, I use: Mitsurugi, Taki, Yun-Seong, Kilik (the right way), Nightmare, Siegfried, Darth Vader, The Apprentice, Sophitia (my personal favorite), Xianghua, Seong-Mina, and Amy. Because of that I know most of the moves before people can attack and thus allows you to counter.
i think i would fall under ur category of players when i was at my prime, but since i don't play as often i would probably be inbetween casual and players as of now.
spammers are especially annoying when the connection gets to 3 bars and sometimes 4 bars. if you want to beat spammers, you can either be very pro or just be cheap urself. i beat spammers by being aggressive and constantly beating the living crap out of their bodies when the round is over or i spam voldo's low moves to annoy them.
maybe his (if Xbox) his X and B button were broken... nah. I don't have xbox live right now, i just moved. All i know is, online is probably a lot more fun than fighting CPUs.
I hate how CPUs knows your very move 80% of the time. They can do combos that no one could actually pull off perfectly like they do. Seriously, i get knocked down once, and half my health is gone by the time i get 1 chance to get up.
i think my english teacher is what you call a legendary fighter. hes ranked something like 94th in the world and in nearly unbeatable (i do know of anyone that hes lost to). its incredible how good he is and has like a 97% win ratio! and its his only account

true spamming is fighting a sophitia or cervantes on ranked and being spammed with an unusual amount of low attacks + UB's and throws. oh and did i mention the constant 3 bars? we need some more aussie people playing this kthanks.
I don't play online (not by my own choice, blame the parents lol) but I'd be angry if someone just kept spamming the same move over and over. I think it's a cheap way of playing imho. It's lazy and shows a complete lack of interest in truly learning the game. I like how you kept impacting his moves and dodging, made him look idiotic.
characters, music, graphics are all amazing in this game
i just dont like how the game isnt based on true skill but button mashing on most cases. too many moves/ combos making it harder for players to do the moves they want.. resulting in random attacks and movements
@MoondawgJM A lot of people seem to think that. winning with only button mashing really only applies to playing online. Go to any tournament with skills like that and you will be the first to go.

and I bet there are two types of spammers; ones who know what they are doing and ones who don't. Ones who do, abuse their ability it seems and use it just to see get the enemy mad or just make it easier on themselves. Both get me very enraged.
I think of button mashers as having two types; ones who know their character well and mastered his/her skillset to the point where they can buttonmash the moves and the other one, has no clue what's going on, and just do whatever either b/c they are confused or they want to annoy you.
the worst run-in i had with a spammer was with a talim her flip kick at you if it hits you once in the air ur screwed cuz it con con on until u get ringed out
I would have a high win rate if it wasnt for spammers, but however certain spams are unblockable, and THEY NEED TO BE PATCHED. For example kiliks high/low bow poke can be done infinitly, and yoshimitus flea kangaroo combo is also 75% health taken. I. Hate. Spammers. Please someone tell me a good way to fight spammers using algol.

I was playing a Taki-style fighter with the Apprentice and they kept doing the same moves so I flipped away and started taunting them which for the Apprentice is of course: "How foolish." The player comes tearing across the screen at a full sprint I'm still taunting and I flip out of the way right as they drop kick and RING OUT!! I laughed so hard. I won without ever touching them. What you guys think? Had a similar experience?
I've done that befoe with my Yeung-Seung fighter, you do a fireball motion with His kick, and He does a midair kick on the opponent's head, sometimes. I do that and miss, which is a ring out if i'm too close to the edge on some stages.
I'm only 2 levels away from finishing the Tower game. The fighers there are REALLY hard. and You can only use ONE character there.
I am GREAT with my Custom Chars. Seong/ YunSueng. followed by Cervantes/Cassandra, then Setsuka/Taki/Nightmare styles. I LOVE mixing,matching styles too. I REALLY love Critical Finishes. Use 1 char to break you down then SWTICH to another one REAL FAST when your meter breaks and you blow back..
I would come at you AND that pinkpwner2008 player with my newest custom char, Benevolent, a Kilik type.. and just use my side step with my Horizontal slash and keep pressing my X button so I will get all three moves off, if you don't keep pressing it, she won't do all 3 moves and I'll be a sitting duck. even if you could anticipate it, you would have to block and then I'll either pick you off with one of the first two moves, or trip you when you think you're far enough from me with the last one!
X-Box 360.. and guess what??? I just completed Tower of Souls.. that's right. I beat the last 3 stages. I needed Shenzan, an Axe type.. and Wicked Sword, a Yeung Seung type to get through floors 53 through 59 and my best 3 custom char team to beat the last floor (60).. man.. I though Amitra was tough! Cassandra and Talim kept OWNING me on floor 53. Mitsuguri was VERY hard to beat, He kept chaining his quick combos. I want that Healing Factor Algol had on level 60. HP Drain A, Start Dash A help!
That was on floor 57! Cassandra and Talim were on floor 57. anybody lucky enough to get this far, watch out. You need someone who can dish our MAJOR damage with one move.
@awakenedenlightenmnt Theres a glitch to beating him if you already didn't know. Get to the side of the ring and let him knock you down, when you are down near the edge of the ring, he will do this combo and leap over you thus him falling out the ring. I didn't do it this way though.

I tried it out for the first time, I knew I could beat some people, but the lag was horrendus and I lost my first battle. The next battle I got into a fight with an Amy Spammer, who just kept pressing ->A+B, A, I won however, my win ratio is 17.34 percent :( thats bad right =\

i consider myself a casual player dont play often but a fair player....hate spaming....and spammers....i've fallen pray to the stalkers....when i'm winning by a landslide agaisnt a new player.....i feel kinda bad sometimes and ease up.....
i agree with half. i enjoy fighting ppl who have 1 loss and 0 wins because those people are usually fair fighters and you can have fun. yeah, you'll definitely win, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun. besides, it's just common courtesy to play newcomers and try to be a good learning experience for them....

@RazeSlayer that's about how you are suppose to play mitsurugi. or so i was told. i play as him too. but i play more aggressively. i tend to not give the other opponent a chance to do anything by pummeling him/her with combos. of course i do have a few defensive traps that i use when necessary. but when it comes to spammers i just wait till they attack then i hit them with a guard impact and punish them for spamming.

@shirimetsuritsuryu Yeah its a good idea but you still should be careful. I only wish people would actually fight rather than spamming the same moves again and again. A good way to win is to maximize style knowledge. For me, I use: Mitsurugi, Taki, Yun-Seong, Kilik (the right way), Nightmare, Siegfried, Darth Vader, The Apprentice, Sophitia (my personal favorite), Xianghua, Seong-Mina, and Amy. Because of that I know most of the moves before people can attack and thus allows you to counter.

i think i would fall under ur category of players when i was at my prime, but since i don't play as often i would probably be inbetween casual and players as of now.
spammers are especially annoying when the connection gets to 3 bars and sometimes 4 bars. if you want to beat spammers, you can either be very pro or just be cheap urself. i beat spammers by being aggressive and constantly beating the living crap out of their bodies when the round is over or i spam voldo's low moves to annoy them.

maybe his (if Xbox) his X and B button were broken... nah. I don't have xbox live right now, i just moved. All i know is, online is probably a lot more fun than fighting CPUs.
I hate how CPUs knows your very move 80% of the time. They can do combos that no one could actually pull off perfectly like they do. Seriously, i get knocked down once, and half my health is gone by the time i get 1 chance to get up.

i think my english teacher is what you call a legendary fighter. hes ranked something like 94th in the world and in nearly unbeatable (i do know of anyone that hes lost to). its incredible how good he is and has like a 97% win ratio! and its his only account

I don't play online (not by my own choice, blame the parents lol) but I'd be angry if someone just kept spamming the same move over and over. I think it's a cheap way of playing imho. It's lazy and shows a complete lack of interest in truly learning the game. I like how you kept impacting his moves and dodging, made him look idiotic.

characters, music, graphics are all amazing in this game
i just dont like how the game isnt based on true skill but button mashing on most cases. too many moves/ combos making it harder for players to do the moves they want.. resulting in random attacks and movements

I think of button mashers as having two types; ones who know their character well and mastered his/her skillset to the point where they can buttonmash the moves and the other one, has no clue what's going on, and just do whatever either b/c they are confused or they want to annoy you.

I would have a high win rate if it wasnt for spammers, but however certain spams are unblockable, and THEY NEED TO BE PATCHED. For example kiliks high/low bow poke can be done infinitly, and yoshimitus flea kangaroo combo is also 75% health taken. I. Hate. Spammers. Please someone tell me a good way to fight spammers using algol.

I was playing a Taki-style fighter with the Apprentice and they kept doing the same moves so I flipped away and started taunting them which for the Apprentice is of course: "How foolish." The player comes tearing across the screen at a full sprint I'm still taunting and I flip out of the way right as they drop kick and RING OUT!! I laughed so hard. I won without ever touching them. What you guys think? Had a similar experience?

I've done that befoe with my Yeung-Seung fighter, you do a fireball motion with His kick, and He does a midair kick on the opponent's head, sometimes. I do that and miss, which is a ring out if i'm too close to the edge on some stages.

I'm only 2 levels away from finishing the Tower game. The fighers there are REALLY hard. and You can only use ONE character there.
I am GREAT with my Custom Chars. Seong/ YunSueng. followed by Cervantes/Cassandra, then Setsuka/Taki/Nightmare styles. I LOVE mixing,matching styles too. I REALLY love Critical Finishes. Use 1 char to break you down then SWTICH to another one REAL FAST when your meter breaks and you blow back..

I would come at you AND that pinkpwner2008 player with my newest custom char, Benevolent, a Kilik type.. and just use my side step with my Horizontal slash and keep pressing my X button so I will get all three moves off, if you don't keep pressing it, she won't do all 3 moves and I'll be a sitting duck. even if you could anticipate it, you would have to block and then I'll either pick you off with one of the first two moves, or trip you when you think you're far enough from me with the last one!

X-Box 360.. and guess what??? I just completed Tower of Souls.. that's right. I beat the last 3 stages. I needed Shenzan, an Axe type.. and Wicked Sword, a Yeung Seung type to get through floors 53 through 59 and my best 3 custom char team to beat the last floor (60).. man.. I though Amitra was tough! Cassandra and Talim kept OWNING me on floor 53. Mitsuguri was VERY hard to beat, He kept chaining his quick combos. I want that Healing Factor Algol had on level 60. HP Drain A, Start Dash A help!

@awakenedenlightenmnt Theres a glitch to beating him if you already didn't know. Get to the side of the ring and let him knock you down, when you are down near the edge of the ring, he will do this combo and leap over you thus him falling out the ring. I didn't do it this way though.

Even if you were to suck severly you'd work you way up and become better Everyone sucked at one point while playing they learned practice and got good :) dont ever worry about another players oppinion of you because 9/10 times they were inthe same position you are
I went from being horrible to one of the best siegfried players on PSN all it takes is a bit of practice and determineation :)
so dont fear to play online dont play to win but play for the fun of fighting others win or lose GL :)

i agree with half. i enjoy fighting ppl who have 1 loss and 0 wins because those people are usually fair fighters and you can have fun. yeah, you'll definitely win, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun. besides, it's just common courtesy to play newcomers and try to be a good learning experience for them....
but it's still stupid to be a spammer
