Great gun! my dad was in the SWAT team for 32 years and is going to retire soon, but one time he had a murder case where a drunkard shot another man in the back of the head with one of those things, from being drunk, and from gambling conflicts. when they got there, the only thing that was left was his neck, and a small portion of the left side of his face. That 30-06 is deffinitely nothing to play with!

Personally, I believe this use of force was entirely necessary and justified, as watermelons are becoming increasingly aggressive in recent months, spurred on by a lack of police response to acts of violence perpetrated by watermelons.
Now, I know some Liberals will claim that we are merely overreaction to this incursion, and we're merely hiding behind the Second Amendment, but here is the visual proof right here ladies and gentlemen: Watermelons are vicious, remorseless, and we must stop them.
It can be done, our thumbs just ask politely that we refrain from such action. :p my dad owns one. I plan to have one oft own very soon. It's my most desired piece.
@leesherman100, No, you're wrong; there's no way I could EVER be wrong. Actually, I think you CAN top one off; it's just not nearly as simple as other designs. :-)
@hickok45 I once heard some one say that they sell M1 Garands' in Every Gun store in the USA. I do not believe that is completely true but how easy is it to get your hands on that rifle in the US?
lol at all these stories about the "ping" letting the enemy know you are out of ammo. In battle, there is no way even the rifleman could here the ping, let alone an enemy soldier. And those stories about GI's throwing en bloc clips at rocks are also made up bs.
@shotgunsteve93 Exactly, it's a myth. That ping, while distinctive, isn't loud compared to a bunch of gunfire. And lets face it, who the hell is stupid enough to charge a regiment of riflemen just because they heard a ping?
Hey Hickock, Since im sure you have many more resources then myself,I was curious if you could direct me on where i could possibly find a WW2 era Garand. Your guidance would be much appreciated.
If I had a million dollars to spend on that gun I would offer ot to mr.45, but something tells me I would get run of the compound with the same rifle.lol.dont ever let that one go!!
@ctrlaltWOOT in a guerrilla war in a destroyed city iτs war 1 vs 1 several times . often this weapon was used by snipers ,When the enemy probably heard this cling is the clinical disadvantage, admit it .
I found an M1 Garand for sale in a local gun store here. I would certainly snatch it up if I were a vintage firearm collector. Lord knows, someday I will be.
You know, come to think of it - they had a K98 Kurz (WWII) once, too. Had a smooth bolt, and was in good condition. Kind of bummed now, that I don't own both of those.
Was just wondering do you have access to a BAR in 30-06 i think a video on that and a demo of walking fire on a melon patch would make a very interesting topic yet another of John Moses Brownings awesome creations thanks for all the great videos as always Life is Good :~)
@TAXOPAREI Soldiers would often carry an enpty clip with them, and after shooting 6 or 7 rounds, would throw the clip down, making it go ping, then when the enemy pops up to shoot, you use your last round to kill him.
@moparfanatic50 practically do not know how easy it is to throw clips at stones when pointing and sooting on the battlefield, but still, very clever trick to fool the enemy if u have a good timing of your '' last bullet and rock - cling '' !! one thing you learn in army schools is to transform your disadvantage to a advantage !
@TAXOPAREI sometimes, soldiers would carry extra clips, and just drop them to make the illusion that they were empty and had to reload. nazis and such pop up only to get blasted lol
@TAXOPAREI I heard a story about some troops fighting in WWII and they would take empty M1 Garand clips and hit them off something metal so the japs would think they were out of ammo, the Japanese would then charge the American troops thinking they were empty and then get cut down.
@TAXOPAREI gis used to use it to advantage by having one soldier pop it out to make the noise while the others waitied for the german or japanese to pop out. neat little ploy
@TAXOPAREI True but the 1911 would be most soldiers backup if i'm not mistaking. That gun is also one if the few guns that did matter in the WW2 winning. Love WW1 and WW2 guns, if i ever get a licence i will get one 1911 as my first WW gun. Bit pricey but still you can't set a price on history ;)
@madman2u Unfortunately, in GREECE The possession of weapons is illegal (I am from Mani and we all have guns illegally) when serving in the army 15 years ago we had the M1 for a training weapon , fantastic weapon for it years, would love to have a such in my collection ..
@TAXOPAREI See that's where your WRONG. Tell me TAXOPAREI, do you think you are going to hear a single clip eject when you are in a battlefield full of mortars going of BAR's, browning machine guns, napalm bombs, hundreds of people shooting, grenades, artillery, Tanks firing, anti-aircrat, and anti-tank weapons firing. I don't know if you're superman with his amazing ears, But I sure as hell wouldn't be able to.
@Daynknight1001 u watch to tv and play war games to much.. even once in a million if the enemy knows that you are out ammο , this can be called a BIG disadvantage , this is not what I say, military analysts support that when the enemy knows when you are out of ammo you can easily get a worst position in the battle or even be cleaned up .
@TAXOPAREI You don't know what your talking about son, I'm former Army. During our FTX they simulated a battled and I couldn't even yell out to my squad sergeant. So yeah you can't hear shit with explosions going off and fifty calibers roaring. In real combat I imagine it would be worse still because the explosions would go off nearer to you and the people would actually shoot back.
@Daynknight1001 Stop being a dick, he was just talking about a small fire fight, of course it wouldn't matter in the heat of a big battle, but between squadrons of of 2 or 3 it was the only disadvantage to the bolt action.
@StoneColdKrishna Hmmph, swearing in an argument. One of the signs of frustration at failure.... do you know how big a SQUAD is not a squadron that would be air force. It's around a dozen two or three dozen is the size of a platoon which is pretty big so yes even then you still would not be able to hear the pinging this was only a problem for special forces soldiers like the rangers etc. because they fought in small units and their tactics required them to fight by themselves.
@Daynknight1001 SQUADRON - In the modern United States Army, a squadron is an armored cavalry, air cavalry, and/or other reconnaissance unit whose organizational role parallels that of a battalion and is commanded by a lieutenant colonel.
Yeah I knew the difference between a squad and squadron, but it's not just the air force tard.
@TAXOPAREI very true but troops in WWII also figured out that they could trick the Germans or the Japs by simply throwing an empty mag at a rock and it will make the same sound so ya
@TAXOPAREI BUT!!! that was used to our advantage, soilders used to take a empty clip and throw down on the ground and it would make a cling, then the enemy would pop there heads up and our soilders would shoot them
@TAXOPAREI That actually did cost a handful of Americans their lives. Some soldiers learned to use it to their advantage, however. They would hit an empty clip on a rock so that it would cling, and when the enemy would break from cover to shoot them the Americans would shoot the enemy.
@TAXOPAREI thats why troops would toss empty garand clips in the air, and as soon as they hit the ground, the enemy would come out from cover to attack, but get shot up.
Did you try to stab Watermelons with the Bayonet? I saw you do it with a Shotgun, that was pretty cool.

@TAXOPAREI In the heat of battle no one would notice.

@TAXOPAREI
this was used to their advantage, its simple, drop an empty mag, enemy pops up, shoot him

@TAXOPAREI its obvious when anyone is out b/c of the "OH SHIT" look on their face. its not audible during a firefight
HellaFlushEvo 3 months ago

TAXOPAREI 3 months ago
@TAXOPAREI You don't know what your talking about son, I'm former Army. During our FTX they simulated a battled and I couldn't even yell out to my squad sergeant. So yeah you can't hear shit with explosions going off and fifty calibers roaring. In real combat I imagine it would be worse still because the explosions would go off nearer to you and the people would actually shoot back.
Daynknight1001 2 months ago
@Daynknight1001 Stop being a dick, he was just talking about a small fire fight, of course it wouldn't matter in the heat of a big battle, but between squadrons of of 2 or 3 it was the only disadvantage to the bolt action.
StoneColdKrishna 2 months ago

StoneColdKrishna 2 months ago
@TAXOPAREI I doubt you could hear the ping over the super sonic cracking of rounds being fired.
planb1532190 2 months ago
@TAXOPAREI very true but troops in WWII also figured out that they could trick the Germans or the Japs by simply throwing an empty mag at a rock and it will make the same sound so ya
USMCB4MF 2 months ago
@USMCB4MF You are correct. and it was indeed a great tactic!
Ace52Fan 2 months ago
@TAXOPAREI In the heat of battle it whas pretty hard to hear the pinging sound.
MsDario1996 2 months ago
@TAXOPAREI Truth is that soldiers where just paranoid that it was like that. If there were shots being fired, you usually couldn't hear the ping.
KamikazeOrange 2 months ago
@TAXOPAREI BUT!!! that was used to our advantage, soilders used to take a empty clip and throw down on the ground and it would make a cling, then the enemy would pop there heads up and our soilders would shoot them
mohiahmed1 2 months ago
@TAXOPAREI That actually did cost a handful of Americans their lives. Some soldiers learned to use it to their advantage, however. They would hit an empty clip on a rock so that it would cling, and when the enemy would break from cover to shoot them the Americans would shoot the enemy.
zellarsDD777 2 months ago
@TAXOPAREI thats why troops would toss empty garand clips in the air, and as soon as they hit the ground, the enemy would come out from cover to attack, but get shot up.
