I'm 6'2" and have the BLS, wich is based on SAAB 9-3. It's too small for me. Liked it when you sat in front and told me how tall you were. I need the bigger one, CTS or . . STS ???
@Johnnytotal If you need something bigger than the ATS, I suggest you wait for the next generation CTS. The current one is about to be replaced and they no longer build the STS. I love Cadillac but just take my word for it and stay away from even used STS's. The bigger newest Caddy is the XTS but it's not a "drivers" car. If you enjoyed your BLS in every area but room, then the FWD/AWD XTS will suite you just fine.
@caddyman07 Thanks for pointing that out for me. I would love to have a CTS-V sedan. I still need to pay off the last part of my BLS, then get some tinted windows and more power by "chipping" ? it and no restriction. I love the "new" look of Cadillac.

This isnt a compact chevy.. there's no other car out there with this platform its a whole new architecture, lol fords gona have a problem when the camaro switches to this platform, and the 5 series when the new cts comes out in a few years
This is one thing I prayed that cadillac would never do... Make a SUPER cheap tiny car and slap a cadillac badge on it. Jaguar, Mercedes, and BMW all did it. And in my opinion is a desgrace to the name. If you wanna compact little chevy, buy a chevy. The CTS I classified as the cheap Chevy/Caddy to begin with.. And did I hear right that the ATS has a 4 cylinder? In a Cadillac? Seriously.... The ATS should not be in the cadillac lineup period.
@countryboywis How do you know it's super cheap? The idea that this is a Chevy is crazy as that brand no longer has RWD in any sedans. The only RWD drives that Chevy has are the Camaro and Corvette and those are in a completely different catagory. Even the Buick Sedans are FWD. This car was meant to compete against the 3-Series BMW, Audi, and other cars in that class. It is in no way "CHEAP" as you stated. Your comments are way off the mark.
the honda took some looks from this car,the light inon the rear/center was taken from this car, even the toyota preus copied from this car, this is the best looking car ever, there is no other like this one
@59summerset huh, at the very least it should be optional if you want heated/cooled rear seats...Since Cadillac pioneered heated seats in 1966 - they should be doing over the top luxurious things with their seats !
GM seems to pay little attention to detail when it comes to interior build quality, and that makes Cadillacs feel less luxurious than their competitors. I hope they improved their ways for this car, it really does look like a nice car, but 1:26 doesn't look so promising.
Well I guess one thing we don't agree on is how it looks. I think it looks nice but I'm not so sure of the raked back headlamps, I'll have to see it in person.
@Stet17 I thought the same thing when I saw that. While the styling and materials look great, the fit and finish doesn't seem to be on par with competitors. I've never seen a BMW or Lexus with misaligned interior trim like at 1:28.
@mokos23 I like it too but don't worry, not in a million years will this repeat the Catera's performance. The Catera, while reasonable looking, didn't have the design, the execution , the positioning nor the brand cache that Cadillac has been building on for the past 8 years. The CTS didn't repeat the Catera mistake and neither will the ATS.
@Jeredin13 I think that would immediately prevent the ATS from dethroning the 3 series. That's why Audi has never really pulled ahead of BMW. Because RWD will always feel a bit more satisfying and has a larger margin for steering perfection, whereas AWD has a major risk of under steering.
@AnonymoussourceL0L I've ever driven an AWD and I hear that in the end, people do prefer FRD over AWD for fun factor. Still, I really want to see what an American AWD sports car can do. I just want it to be an option, not for all of them. ^_~
European car interiors are ugly as hell, bland, and mundane. Where is the luxury? ohh.. right, your driving cheap ass metal that is claimed to be "luxurious" because it's imported from Germany? kiss my ass. I'll support America thanks
@lllike000 Lmao I want what you're smoking. Have you ever actually seen the interior of a European car? A spyker? A Pagani? A Koenigsegg? Or even excluding extreme exotics, how about Jaguar or Aston Martin? Audi? Maserati? If you think shit like the interiors we have here in America are better than those then there are some serious problems with your eyes.
@Ultinarok47 I've owned 3 European Cars, 2 3-Series BMWs and a C class Mercedes. Yes I know they are low end of the scale for those companies, but there was nothing special about the interiors. The Cars you are talking about are minor players. When was the last time you saw a Pagani, Koenigsegg, Aston Martin or even a Maserati? These are boutique brands with VERY limited production. A friend of mind has a CTS and the interior is better than the BMWs or Mercedes in that price range.
@juscurious I agree, I currently own a '10 C63, which I love, but I am considering selling it for a down payment on one of these, I think Caddy's have some of the nicest interiors.
@juscurious They may be minor players, but he classified European interiors in general as bland, boring and low quality. Those companies are European and while small they're certainly not bland. And while lower end models may not be anything special, the overall look and feel of a new German luxury car is outstanding. Just watch saabkyle04's videos where he does in depth car tours and you'll see what i mean.
@luimarco: The ATS has 3 engines 2 liter 4 rated at 200hp, a 2 liter turbo rated at 270hp and a V6 rated at 318hp all rated above BMW! Stop hating! Lol!
The v series should be put out first and volume models later. Everyone obviously wants to see the key player in the line up and not just the plain the ones.
After watching that video....there's no room inside...so if you're over 6 feet forget about the ATS and walk over to the the benchmark....as in BMW 328i
If they can jam in a turbo 6, this thing will fly. Unlike some people, I like the little turbo 4's, and if they can make a decent amount of power, I'm all for it, but for the V series, I think a 320ish hp turbo 6 would be hard to beat.
No, the headlights reaching to the front axle is NOT interesting. What IS interesting though, is what the dude in the back is doing with the pen on the A-pillar. What's that all about? 00:20
glad to see that GM is no longer screwing around this time. the new face of the BMW 3 series for '12 isn't impressive. the ATS is awesome. If it handles as well as GM claims, then i'm hopeful that this platform (named Alpha) may get shared with the next generation Camaro will correct the current problems with Camaro which is weight, weight, weight and a better handling suspension worthy of the Camaro name.
@Crushercurtis702 I agree but what you got to keep in mind is engineering philosophy. the 330i uses an inline engine design while the ATS is a V design. An argument you can also say is that the inline 6 BMW also used twin turbo's to get an equal 300/300 hp and torq figures in U.S spec. though independent testing confirms that those hp and torq figures by BMW are underated. But because the GM 3.6L may make more power, turbo's (especially Twin Turbo) make more low end torq early in the rpm range.
Looks better than the XTS, but still kind of cartoonish like recent caddies. Appears to be a good car, really nice interior, but a shame that GM cheated with the funds of the government.
Let's not put this car down yet. At the rate American cars are improving, they might just do better than European and Japanese cars. I'm amazed what improvements Ford, GM, and Chrysler have made.
Right of the bath you know it's gonna be Slower than the 4 Cylinder 328i from BMW for the simple fact that BMW rates it's engine at 240 horses whereas in fact it has 233 at the wheels which is like north of 290 at the crank
its very badly made ... audi and bmw is not all about light car which goes fast there is also good enginiring and style and the bage heheh i will buy a kia over that caddi
