  • I remember my dad singing this one...miss ya old man

  • In relativity we are the person that need to release .

  • This song takes me back to my teen years. I enjoyed his music then and I enjoy it today when I am in my 70's.

  • Great version!

    I never hearded it.

  • the "country" produced nowdays makes me physically ill....oh what a shame, theyve ruined the Grand Ol Opry and replaced Greats with no takent fakes.

  • Great Song by a TRUE COUNTRY singer. We need more singers like him instead of this no-talent crap we have today.

  • The original writer was Rod Morris, he wrote it, tried to make it a hit, couldn't and then gave it, GAVE it to Eddie Miller. Rod also wrote North Wind (Charlie Pride) Bimbo (Jim Reeves) and others. Rod was close to my family many years ago.

  • great singer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh yeah!

  • Wow, never heard this version before! Love it! Thnx for posting!

  • Here is the news. The anti- American (aka God) agenda figured (rightly) that traditional country music of America was too popular around the world so if they removed it and replaced it with a very poor representation of 'country music' of the supposedly modern trend, it would destroy the pro-American thrust of the country music genre and therefore put the world on the same page .i.e. Crap is good . Nice try ,but NO ! Devils' dupes , you've been found out !!!!!

  • This reminds me of my little black (AM) transistor radio, purched in the window, late Saturday night, listen to the Katie-Dids & Katie Didn't's and the Grand Ole Opry & Martha White Corn Bread...

  • @GerahSchultz7

Sounds like we have something in common. My radio was the deluxe model. It had 8 transistors and took about $25 worth of Ray-O-Vac batteries. lol I grew up in Roanoke, Virgina and listened to Wheeling West Virginia. I wish I could think of the station's call letters in Wheeling. ♥ Country classics forever.

  • For my Uncle Romie-now Passed...We sang this together....Wish we could be still singing...

  • Thanks for the post this has to one of the great voices in country music 5*****

  • Ray is the Greatest Country Singer in my opinion no one can hold a Candle to him.

  • @Wehategod listen to hank williams sometime you like his music

  • this is when country was country

  • peopel ought not to use profanity & foul language on here -but Raprice is perhaps one of the best in country music ,problem today is most of it should be called "country crap'" to put it politely...lol

  • ray price grew older with grace. im so glad he came along with all those other great country singers. i dont mean to insult anyone but they just dont make em anymore. ty for posting

  • Ray Price is like very good wine-he gets better with age I've been a fan since I heard his first song

  • Jimmy Heap also had a hit with this song about the same time. Also, a great listen!

  • @renew2day I was 14 years old when I started sneaking into the S and S Club in Temple Texas the see the great Jimmy Heap and the Melody Masters play there, thank you for bringing up his name and some wonderful memories.

    Thank You

    Mike

  • Gotta love the country oldies sound !

  • I watched Ray on TV the other night on Fox News and I have become a new fan! You go Ray! Love You Man! 83 yrs old - 23 yrs old - your the best!

  • Love this classic song from the past and still it is timeless . A fan of the recording artist .

  • In the early 1960's my stepfather bought " one of those new fangled stereo sets" and a Ray Price was one of the very few albums he purchased...we played it for hours on end and a love of early country was born for me.......

  • ok.

  • I saw Ray on TV Saturday night. He is 83 years old now! He can still sing pretty good though for his age!

  • Great version!

  • Wow, thanks for the memories. I played this song in my band in high school. Ray is the best...and what longevity.

  • Its been 50 years since I began dancing to this kind of music. What memories! I used to have records with all of Ray's songs. In the early years he was utterly amazing. He sang effortlessly, the words just flowed out.

Perhaps YouTube will revive real country music. (Today's "country music" is worthless.)

  • I couldn't agree more. I don't know what kind of music they're playing now but it is not country music.

  • @YellowstoneJoe check out the johnny trouble trio, they write old style country.

  • When i was young i did belive in love, thoes day the colour of love and the meaning of love has been change. I Love my mama

  • fantastic 5 stars

  • If I remember correctly, Ray shared the country hit list charts with the Jimmy Heap

    version, when it was released.

  • Ray had two hit on this..1954 and 1968 !

  • never heard the '68 version

  • wonderful! YEHAW!!!!!!!

  • wonderful! YEHAW!!!!!!!

  • Was this the original recording of this song? What year was it released? Who wrote it? Ray has to be one of the most under rated artists.

  • "Release Me," a 1946 song by Eddie Miller, popularized by Ray Price (1954) and Kitty Wells... & Others...

  • @pennydredful He's not under rated he's in the hall of fame.

  • GREAT 5*****
