  • so here is my question ! why not just buy a god damn guitar :D

  • dear santa...

  • how much was that??

  • wow i want a lit up neck

... I also want a guitar like that too XD

  • @dkeenan7 haha maybe one day when im out of college and have a better job than working part-time at wendy's

  • triple triad time FINAL FANTASY VIII! PETER GUNN THEME WHOO HOO!

  • is the whole guitar just a neck? or does it actually have a body

  • @TheMoetallica If we're only talking appearance, it is all neck. But when you hold one, you can feel that it has a solid body. That body is a slug of concrete that was poured into the lower quarter of the carbon fibre tube, and the piezo pickups are mounted to that concrete through holes in the tube.

  • @dkeenan7 P.S. It also has a sort of visual "body", although it was not used in the video. It's a clear polycarbonate "blade" that makes it look like an axe. You can see this if you follow the first link in the description.

  • @dkeenan7 ah I see, because it looks a bit hard to get a hold of hehe, like.. ur hands would be slipping off the body a lot and would get quite annoying

  • @TheMoetallica Right. It has strap buttons for the usual shoulder strap. The blade stops it rotating when you're playing standing up, and doubles as a leg rest when sitting down. But Hutch, in the video, preferred not to use the blade when playing sitting down. He is wearing the strap, but it is black and blends in with his black shirt.

  • what the name of this song?

  • roadhouse blues ?

  • The Zanibar Aliens need this guitar.

Click on my channel and youll get it.

  • A great invention except noone knows how to really use it properly

  • I used to play this then i took an arrow to the knee

  • @areist05 why do you always say you took an arrow to the knee? I dont get it. You're all over this site saying blah blah blah i took an arrow to the knee... i dont get it

  • Optimus Prime Called...He Wants His Dick Back!!

  • This guy must be an ailien o.O

  • for being made from alien technology the intonation on that thing is awful

looks cool as hell though howd you get the fretts to glow?

  • @tyndallwb It's tuned to an alien scale (22 equally spaced notes per octave) as mentioned in the description.

  • @tyndallwb The frets are a leaky optic fibre (actually sold as crystal clear hard trace or leader -- fishing line). They are lit by a string of LEDs inside the tube.

  • I ... wouldn't even know what to do with this thing. O.o

  • Wow! LEDS!

  • if it doubles as a bong im gonna buy every single one

  • I can own one of these for $1500 seriously? I would pay that in a heartbeat

  • hey were can i have one's like that?

  • Granpa You just made entire Start Track fun club cream in their pants with that tube of yours

  • Some folks do not or can' t read.

  • Dave Mustaine endorsed Lightsaber FTW!

  • Can you imagine Ewan Dobson playing this?

    Guitargasm.

  • very cool =]

  • how the hell do you tune this thing?

  • @clemenza1234 Like a Steinberger. See the photos linked from the description.

  • @clemenza1234 you don't tune it... it tunes you o.0

  • @Luckier8

    Only in Soviet Russia.

  • darth vader is gonna be ticked when he finds his guitar is missing.

  • Learn to play guitar before playing that beautiful instrument, it deserves better

  • @ssbvids4321 I understand how you feel. But as it says in the description, this guitar has 22-tones to the octave. Hutch can play guitar OK, just not 22-tone guitar. Few humans can. But he was brave enough to have a go.

  • @ssbvids4321 he's got some decent blues riffs in there, dude. cut him some slack....they cant all be shredders.

  • djent djent djent

  • HES USING STAR POWER!!!!!! lol

  • how do you tune and change strings? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

  • @stonekid156 Follow the first link in the description ("Show more") to see some photos. It works in a similar way to a Steinberger or a Gittler. The plain end of the string is clamped by a screw at the top end-cap of the tube and the ball end of the string is pulled by a screw at the bottom end-cap of the tube. Tightening the nut on this screw increases the tension.

  • I WANT ONE!....send the Martians to Boonah, Australia.

  • What... What does it want?

  • there are alot of weird instruments in the right bar, im closing this window

  • This temperament of 22 notes per octave isn't more difficult than the regular one talking about chord transposing and tonal concordance?

  • @RGTheMute Yes. You really need music that is composed by someone who understands the harmonic and melodic structure of 22-tET. When you try to adapt conventional stuff you are often forced to optimise melody or harmony and can't do both. 22 is very alien, unlike say 19-tET or 31-tET which are meantones. But 22 is still capable of sounding good in its own right. e.g. the final Pink Floyd chord in the "Alien Guitar 2" video, sounds better to me than the original.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Rockin a psychedelic dildo.

  • Call me old fashioned, but i prefer the more 'traditional guitar' approach.....

  • Try to get backers for the production at kickstarter

  • @stckupkidd Good idea. I probably will, after I make another prototype for the video, in standard tuning.

  • @dkeenan7 is it really alien? i'm not knocking you, i'm just curious. is it possible you could post some blues guitar videos?

  • @able2ful1 There is a winky-face ;-) in the description. And there are many comments below in which I admit to designing and building it. I am a humanoid from the planet Australia. :-) Sorry, no blues guitar videos.

  • @dkeenan7 damn. i was really looking forward to it. do you do any videos at all? metal, shred, country?

  • Is this made in Saturn or Mars?

  • the aleans are coming to take over rock and roll

  • I thought it didn't have strings at first glance!

  • Alien got good taste in music!

  • $1500 is about average for a good quality guitar. Go to a guitar store, and you'll find a few that are more than that. And yeah I'd buy it but it seems like it would be a pain in the ass to play (plus it looks like an alien anal probe).

  • Anakin Skywalkers Lightsaber

  • haven't heard peter gunn in a bit

  • looks like your playing a bug zapper lol

  • dude that is worth every penny

  • y esa que se supone que es? les paul o stratocoaster ?

  • waste of time...

  • THATS INSANE! you could make the stringing go all the way round the cylinder, could learn to revolve it while you play! think of the note range!

  • STFU AND TAKE MY MONEY !!

  • THEE COOLEST FUCKING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN SINCE THE SPACE BONG O.O

  • Isn't that the thing the alien band was playing in Star Wars?

  • ok wheres the acoustic version

  • I dont understand

  • That Thing Is Ugly As F***!!! Not Even Close To Being Worth Buying!!

  • ummm... make me one??? pwease???

  • @cobaincrazy7 Am working towards doing a small production run. Can you cope with it being $1500?

  • @dkeenan7 Great price dude!

  • @dkeenan7 It's a cool instrument but i wouldn't pay that much for it... but then again I'm cheap~! :D lol

    - Hero

  • @HeroandKitty I wouldn't pay that much for it, and I'm not cheap.

  • @dkeenan7 That's it?? Very reasonable, sir! ...Even though it wasn't me that asked the question hahaha

  • @dkeenan7 $1500? I would buy that...(and I can't even play guitar)

  • thats just amazing, nice work

  • LOL! to be honest, you play a meaner blues than all the shitty kids trying to play as fast as they can on their ibanez's with Silly overdrive/comp/delay! haha nice one

  • what a weird device.

  • Does it come with a Alien tuner?

  • looks like Saruman playing guitar ;)

    Very nice guitar!

  • make a shit ton and sell them

  • Did you steal this guitar from Steve vai's crash landing somewhere in Nevada?

  • Insane

  • play lithium!

  • Literally thought he was going to play mortal kombat at the start of this video and i was happy for a second hahah

  • Rad.

  • i'm sure the aliens designed it to play blues haha

  • If its called Alien electric guitar, does that mean the old man is an alien?

  • If I spit on it will I get electrocuted?

  • Eee... Gitara to ma być gitara. A nie coś takiego.

  • @1991Szymek ale się świeci :D

  • @1991Szymek Jezu, to jest jako ciekawostka, kolo sam skonstruował, a ty już się napinasz.

  • there goes the guitars as we know it...shame on you !!

  • tuning?

  • @XDuFELLalt 22-tone equal temperament. Axial tuners at the bottom end, similar to a Steinberger.

  • that's some awesome design! thanx for sharing!

  • wtf? looks lik somethin outta halo

  • ahh damn old people and their money:/

  • que baguio é esse??

  • What The heck is that?! A guitar or Lightsaber?! O_o awesome! :)

  • Where's the weed go lol

  • Looks like something darth vadar would shred on...

  • That is pretty darn awesome.

    Well done man. :)

  • omfg

  • 2 bad it doesn't sound as alien as it looks

  • Great! Im going to grate some cheese

  • Looks like someone robbed Daft Punk

  • since when do space girls leave their dildos behind?

  • Where did you get that!? And are those actual strings?

  • @jonoce633 I designed and built it, and yes those are standard steel-core guitar strings. In fact the only standard guitar parts used in its construction are the strings and the output jack. See the photos via the first link in the description ("Show more").

  • @dkeenan7 Great. Guitar. Ever.

  • can you play violin on it?

  • @RaoulnJoy Yes, you can play it with a violin or cello bow.

  • why is he playing on a weird space dildo ? O_O

  • unbelievable

  • lmao did anyone read the first sentence in the description?

  • whoa!! I wonder how does it feel playing that guitar

  • Ooh christ, this music plays in The Sims 1 while playing Guitar D:

  • The Daft Punk Guitar

  • WTF? is not better a BC Rich? :S :D

  • PETER. GUNN. ROCKS

  • Dude that's ffing bad ass!

  • Damn i got to go break my guitar :P

  • Lies, it's an alien dildo.

  • lol...star wars styl

  • TENER UNA GUITARRA CARISIMA,CHINGONA, DE POCA MADRE, PERFECTAMENTE AFINADA.. Y NO SABER TOCARLA .... NO TIENE PRESIO ^^

  • I WANT DAT

  • Did anyone else start singing "Out where the river flows" when he started playing and you couldn't think of what song it was?

  • Blues Brothers? lol

  • so you get a bad ass alien guitar from the planet Omecron Persii 8 and you play blues. should be dubstep

  • Would the tubular shape not make it awkward as hell to play?

  • @unexplainedpointing That's the surprising thing. Yes, it makes some things awkward to play, but not "awkward as hell". And some things, such as barre chords, actually become easier. There is a small range of goldilocks diameters for which this is true. However it _is_ impossible to simultaneously fret the first and sixth strings except with a barre.

  • give it to someone that knows how to play it...

  • i dont like it

  • nice dildo bro!

  • So... how do i tune this?

  • @williswu1 It has axial tuners at the bottom end, like a Steinberger. If you follow the first link in the description (click "Show more") you will see them in some photos. Because this one is fretted for 22-tone equal temperament you tune the open strings to E+9c, A, D-9c, G-18c, B+18c, E+9c

  • This is Darth Vader before the Jedi career

  • So much awesomeness, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shut up and take my money!!!!!

  • stupid.

  • What... what is the fuck ?!!!!!XD

    LOVE IT :3

  • 22 huh? 24 i would understand. can you explain the reasoning behind 22 a little?

  • @RevR0ach 22-equal makes possible some new harmonies involving approximate ratios of 7 which neither 12-equal nor 24-equal can provide. Unfortunately this video doesn't demonstrate them. See the "22 equal" Wikipedia article and the article by Paul Erlich that it links to.

  • @dkeenan7 thanks for answering, pretty cool. didnt foresee how the 22 would approximate some just intervals better.

  • for sale??? ;)

  • can you use that as a bong?

  • @SFCPRINCE100 lolol

  • Grate now my son will want one.

  • @dcmsupertrucker1 Sorry. I tried to make it as unattractive as I could. ;-)

  • @dkeenan7

Screw the haters, its brilliant! i seen the article attached to the vid, its so inventive! Brain may would be proud * for the unknown here he made his own guitar too* Bravo..

  • @dcmsupertrucker1 Great*

  • @dcmsupertrucker1 I know just GREAT!!!

  • ammm... where have they the guitar from?... from a crashed alien spaceship?... no... the police don't gave it

  • It's both a guitar, and a!........never mind.

  • Good luck finding a capo for that.

  • So THIS is what the cantina band on tatooine would use

  • Even tuning is alien! Congrats :P

  • So this is what Daft Punk lost when arriving.

  • Cuanta guitarra para tan poco músico

  • this is lame!
