  • that is because God inhabits the praises of His people!!!!!

  • They just don't make songs like this anymore.

  • I wonder can I get this on CD to play in my car.

  • Thank you for posting this because I remember my mom playing this song and I wanted to hear it over and over again.

  • i love this song. thanks for posting it

  • THIS REAL CHURCH MUSIC

  • My one of my favorite songs in the whole wide so world

  • You know it's a good track when you hear the crackling noises...... I MISS THAT!!!! REAL CHURCH!!!

  • real gospel music!!!

  • Thank you for posting this is what you call real gospel music that will make you clap your hands and pat your feet when you hear it.

  • @72 apostolic You are right they do not sing songs like this anymore.

  • Every generation has its style of music so on one hand it is rational in stating "what you're saying about today's gospel is the same thing that was said about folks like the Hawkins." The main difference is that we still had an intricate part of our tradition. You'll be hard pressed to find many youth(older folks as well) that are knowledgeable about or history or tradition. The bottom line is; does our worship and praise gratify us or glorify God.I like contemporary, but I do miss the choirs.

  • @Sharkleah Well said! but the music was soo GReat back then tho but i love all music but i must say Traditional Gospel/original contemporary in the 70's&80's is nothing like it, rev Charles Nicks, rev James Cleveland, rev Walter Hawkins, Thomas Whitfield, Albertina Walker, Keith Pringle, rev Milton Biggham,! real talk tho!

  • Truly a classic. Legendary.

  • gospel music old or new...it all feeds the soul..

  • Keith made some AMAZING music.

  • Ohh, how I miss my choir days. This song was "SUNG OUT" if you will. I remember when our choir had to sing without music first then the music was added later. We had NO paper. We learned from the musician only. We had church though. By the time choir rehearsal finished, the church service was great. Who knows what happened to the director? If I was not in the choir stand when the musician hit the "ivory", I didn't sing. Thank you "Johnzoe777". THANK YOU JESUS!

  • @MsMinisterS Yes, yes, how I do remember these treasure moments, when choirs members wore robes, played the tambourine, played the wash board, when all the choir member clapped there hands, at one point in the song we would stop the music and all you could hear are the voices, hand clapping and the bass from the floor, that was a little bite of heaven on earth. Even at choir rehearsal we would have a praise break, the list goes on and on, and on. And don't forget about the JOY NIGHT,what a time.

  • i love this song

  • One of my FAV Solos to sing!!! this brings so many memories!!!

  • they don't sing songs like this anymore, these songs gon take us to heaven!!

  • wow. I was part of The Philly Junior Mass Choir and we used to premiere most of Keith's songs. I did not even know. I just know we was SANGIN'.

  • Beautiful song. I must agree this sounds like CHURCH saints. We must uplift his name. I will never put down anyway the young people relate to gospe music, if it brings them closer to GOD then go for it. We need help down here on earth. This song is a ministering song. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Minister Pringle has done it again Confess the Lord and now this song. Praise his name everybody!!!!

  • We did this one in college....

  • The song makes me feel like shoutin'! =D

  • @JustMeBabeee Well go on and get your praise on!

  • @cpiman2009 Let's shout together! c'mon! =D

  • @JustMeBabeee Heeeyyyyy Glorrreyyyyy!!!!!! "Praise Dance"

  • This was an era that you could praise God and did not have to try to understand what the choirs were saying and doing Back then, you had to enunciate words, so the audience knew what was being said. Rehearsals were shouting and praising God! I miss those days. Thank Johnzoe777 for letting me relive "history". Oh, I had to be at rehearsal on TIME! (SMILE)

  • REAL GOSPEL MUSIC and REAL GOSPEL CHOIR..

  • BEAUTIFUL, PASTOR PRINGLE

    LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

  • I thank God for my mom, the late Sarah L Anderson for bringing me up in church at the Indiana Avenue Pentecostal Church of God,Chicago il. Thats what this song reminds me of. We used to rock this. FOUNDATION, FOUNDATION, FOUNDATION.

  • @ JOHNZOE777 YOURE AWSOM!!! I BEEN LISTENING TO ALL YOUR THROWBACKS... EVEN BIBLEWAY RADIO...

  • I love all gospel music the exalts Jesus son of the Lvinging God! I don't care if it old school, or new school. God is pleased we when praise Him!

  • In COGIC, this is offering music...

  • @empress605 lol...u right

  • Remember "ye are the salt of the earth" All of us have flavor. Some flavors taste good to an individual and may not taste well to another. Keep in mind, God does not start confusion. He didn't write that book. He's not the author of it. To keep arguments and upseting emotions down - which is satan's territory - try encouragement. Such as: I love gospel music! I pray and hope that the 80's & 90's gospel music will have as much influence on future generations like it did on me. Amen.

  • We used to sing this song every year at the our Annual Summer Revival. Loved it!

  • This truly great gospel music. great lyrics and great energy from the choir.

  • These were the greatest songs!!

  • Lawd ham mercy!!!!! I miss Gospel music like this!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting this song - it bring back such memories of my Choir/Church going days especially when we had the young adult choir - Praise God!!!!!

  • Now this is what I am talking about. This song gave me hope when my father passed away. I couldn't wait to see him again, and now that I am older, and saved on top of it, I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST. When we ALL GET There, WHAT A TIME!!!!!

  • 1:24 still gives me chills....haven't heard this song in years!!!

  • I have not heard this in years!!! Sigh...I miss choir music like this!

  • I remember this song we use to do this song at First Apostolic Church of Ingelwood under the late Bishop Wayne S. Davis

  • wow!! the young adult choir at my church used to crank this song!! praise God! Now THAT'S good music!!!

  • Now, this is REAL gospel music, unlike today's empty "hip-hop" and "gangsta" gospel that we're told we need to have to

"keep" the young people. If the Word of The Most High doesn't keep them and music like this doesn't encourage them, then there's no hope. This is truly music that glorifies. The music of the 80's was the absolute best!!!

  • Amen to the truth!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Godzgr8mercy i agree with you; the gospel music of the 80's was the absolute best!!!

  • @Godzgr8mercy Yeah but seriously.. what do you want our kids to do? I remember when I was in the youth choir and the Sr. Choir( grandmother and them") were singing song that I thought were lame and boring!! I think every generation has its own style and we should respect it. At least our youth are singing and dancing for the lord. Also what ever happened to Choir Robes?LOL

  • @Godzgr8mercy Yes. I want to hear Kirk Franklin or Tye Tribbitt sing this song!

  • @Godzgr8mercy

Really!!! You sound like a modern day pharasee!! Always criticizing everything!

If you like 80's gospel, then say you like 80's gospel.

If you don't like christian hip hop, then say you don't like it!

But don't slam somebody because of how they want to reach the youth!

Keep in mind! There are people all over this WORLD that worship God differently! they don't have gospel choirs! So are they wrong for how they minister to people!

  • @Godzgr8mercy

    REALLY!!!!

IF YOU LIKE OLD SCHOOL GOSPEL AND THAT'S THE MUSIC YOU WANT TO LISTEN TOO! THEN SAY THAT! BUT DONT SLAM SOMEONE ELSE FOR HOW THEY CHOOSE TO PRAISE GOD OR MINISTER TO OTHER PEOPLE OR THE YOUTH!

GET WITH THE TIMES! IT'S A CRAZY WORLD OUT THERE. THERE MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT DONT KNOW GOD AND HAVE NEVER GREU WUP IN THE CHURCH DURING THE 80'S!

YOU'RE A MODERN DAY PHARISEE! ALWAYS CRITICAL OF OTHER PEOPLE!!!

  • I agree with you!!! That old school music brought me over, that was during that time!!

God's word remain the same but the methods of how we introduce it to this generation would be different. We can't box God in to doing things one way. He is a creative God. His ways are higher than our ways but we must open our minds and heart to his New Thing!! If gospel rap and any other way can reach the lost so be it!

  • @Godzgr8mercy

man afta readin dem otha comments, i thought u had done cuss God chillun out or sumthin. lol, but u r absolutly rite!!! & ur NOT a modern day pharasee or saducee, ur jus dead rite!!!

  • @Godzgr8mercy - Keith has a brand new album out called "Nothing Too Hard For God". It just came out on October 5th (2010). Awesome stuff including a revamped version of "Call Him Up" with a horn section. He did a taping with Bobby Jones which is supposed to be aired on The Word Network in early November.

  • @Godzgr8mercy And you could not have said it any better,

  • @Godzgr8mercy *yawn* ... what you're saying about today's gospel is the same thing that was said about folks like the Hawkins and the Clark Stisters in the 70s ... it's just ahistorical to think the 80s had gospel more "real" than today ....

  • @Godzgr8mercy u r so right. I never understood that b/c I'm a young person & at my home church all we sung were back in the day songs. I have the holy ghost & I am kept. I truly feel it's a heart condition. Ppl seem to have forgotten that God doesn't change & neither should the saints try to cater to the "young ppl". WE R POSED TO TEACH THEM THE CORRECT WAY TO WORSHIP, NOT ALLOW THEM TO CHANGE JUST TO FILL SEATS & "KEEP THEM". What good r they if they aren't being kept the correct way?

  • This song was written by Bishop Ralph "Donnie" Graves

  • Man...we used to wear out the carpet in the choirstand on this piece (that is, if the choir could get through the whole song without shouting....LOL)!

  • We use to rock this at church

  • Our choir used to sing this song when in the early 1980s when I was a little innocent 5 year old. I used to mimic it with my soprano voice. I haven't heard it in over 24 years! This brings back memories.
