Leggo che questo film avrebbe avuto anche un'altra colonna sonora e più bella, francamente dopo aver ascoltato questo tema d'amore mi riesce difficile immaginare qualcosa di comparabile
The Morricone version is clearly more lyrically sweeping in keeping with the vastness of the landscape and the dire predicament and human tragedies of this as equal human ethics movie as the movie is a "disaster movie." I like BOTH versions of the main theme. If only the director had been better served by a good editor the movie would have been shorter and the acting improved making this a true classic: as it is is a badly overlooked intriguing film about emotional scarring by life and death.
Unfortunately you guys hasn't heard the Russian version by Alexander Zacepin, no comparison, the film is so much more poignant with Zacepin music, look it up for yourselves. Whole different story!
I saw this in the theatre as a child. It was one of the few movies that made a lasting impression on me because I could relate to being very cold and surrounded by ice and snow.
This is a hard to find movie. I can't find any downloads online or a DVD (which I would gladly buy) I "had" a VHS (original not a copy) but can't find it. I have always liked this movie. I know it is not Academy Awards material, but I like the story line, & I have always been fascinated by anything "Arctic".
But I didn't know, that Ennio Morricone has written music for a Soviet film. That music sound lovely, with a lot of harmony and also you can feel the flow of energy coming to your heart. Ennio Morricone - THE IMMORTAL ONE!!!!!

А музыка Александра Зацепина к русской версии фильма все-таки лучше, более романтична и берет за душу !!!

Russian composer A. Zatsepin also wrote music for this film and it is much more beautiful than this one.

Susanna Rigacci does the voice in this live concert. The original with Edda Dell'Orso is amazing...a notch higher. Still so beautiful....

this is so beautiful, heavenly, angelic. Only Morricone could compose something as transcendental as this. thankyou for uploading
