same thing happens to me. look at your task manager and see how much resources the java process gobbles up right before minecraft crashes. ive been trying to fix this for weeks and im so stuck =[
I'm guessing (can't read the text) that was an ATI "video driver stopped responding" message. First, check your video drivers, make sure you're on the newest possible.
The driver restart and glitches in-game may be a result of an overheating card, so the next step is to check that your card's fan isn't stopped or running too slow. The free program GPU-Z works well for checking the temperature of your card, too - look at the Sensors tab.
