  • It would be nice if Motown or Berry Gordy would put out videos of a concert like this or the Temptations live 1966! It sounds good to the ear but would be extra special to see right along with hearing!

  • yeah, Diana sounds pitchy in this performance, as she was want to do back then...where did you get this, oh magician?!

  • FROM THIS MOMENT ON was recorded for the 1965 copa album but it was never put on it. So nice to actually hear them sing it.

    I just LOVE The Supremes - Diana / Mary / Flo =D

  • I have the original album of the Supremes at the Copa circa 1965. The performance is much tighter than this and I am lead to believe that this particular performance was of the 2nd or 3rd time the Supremes performed at the Copa and not the debut performance. Thanks for the posting, for this is a rare historical performance too.

  • I think it wasn't as tight because they had to perform soooo much more songs.

They only had 5 #1 hits in 1965 and by 1967 they had 10 LOL. Plus the whole show changed (they sang different standards)

  • thank you thank you for posting this!!! i love these classy beautiful talented girls.

  • what a shame that this wasn't put on film... i saw the girls doing this show at Blinstrubs in Boston,... many moons ago!

  • 'Im sure Gordy has film of this somewhere>

  • How much do I love The Supremes?? Let me count the ways..

  • How much do I love The Supremes???? Let me count the ways...!!!

  • I'm wondering if this was one of their first attempts at doing a "Vegas" style show. The reason I say this is because they sound stiff, unnatural, uncomfortable and out of place-it's as if they feel like "what are we doing here"? Their harmony was very hollow sounding-and that is STRANGE for the Supremes,as their harmony is their "trump card". In quite a few places they sound flat and off key, too. The sad thing is that the house band is so good that their mistakes stick out more prominently.

  • Florence was fired before the second show at the Flamingo Hotel on July 1, 1967, the day after her birthday. Cindy walked across the street and joined the group as the newest supreme but it probalby wasn't announced that night. Flo boarded a plane back to Detroit

  • MORE!! POST all of it! I love it!

  • Greatness!!

  • i am amazed at flo and mary's harmony at times...and just how musical and seriously true professionals they were espesh for being such young whippa snappas...singing backup to those boring songs is a daunting task: one wrong note and u are a fool for trying...what a trio of talent grace charm and beauty!

  • well said bravo !!!

  • this is the night flo got fired

  • No, Flo did not get fired this night.

  • My my do I LOVE The Supremes. Thanks for reposting =)

    Much love from JonathanLGardner =D

  • Les Supremes! Florence, Mary and Diana...the best!

  • Thank you for doing and posting this again! :)

  • I love the pictures you have posted of The Supremes at the COCONUT GROVE in 1967. Just FAB!!

  • really nice

I heard this one time before =)

I like it but the background was a bit quiet I think flo was deliberately turned down

because it was only a few months before she was fired!

    love ya flo

  • Ross is off-pitch on the last note of From This Moment On.

  • True ... she was off ... very much so.

The first "Supremes at the Copa" album from 1965 was SOOO good ... all three girls were pitch perfect at every moment and you couldn't help but fall in love with them ... at least I did.

(And a million other people too.)

  • a lot of the stars on the motown roster got a slap in te face from talkin ess about the supremes lol..and karma was bitch. because they came off on TOP...WAAAY TOP lol. Its no they fault they were loved. They just did wat they did. They were all just blessed to have such appeal. God really blessed them in the 60's.

  • Cool post ... thanks.

I must say though, that the first "Live at the Copa" recorded in 1965 sounded more appealing ... more sincere ... like they really cared. Still good to hear though, being the Supremes fanatic that I am.
