As far as I'm concerned, great marks should be not necessarily about height, but how much competition to get the grab. Jezza's against Richmond in 1969 at Princes Park was better because of competition.

This is the best mark of all time ... Shaun Smith's mark was good as well but Jezza had the height and balance. He didn't fall over after he took it .. landed like a cat - all class.

I think it's just the pure symmetry and fluency of the whole action of Jezza and the movement of the surrounding players that makes it so great. It's as if it was all scripted and planned. There have been heaps and heaps of high marks but this one just flows.

Alex Jesaulanko- This mark will forever be edged in time. Its gracefull , spectacular and has all the ingredients of a perfect mark. Whats more interesting is that the camera work back in the 70's dose not do it justice and it still stands out as one of the greats. Furthur more ,it was also taken in a Grand Final with so much at stake. The modern game was born - Hand ball , Hand ball at all costs cried Barassi which saw the game swing Carlton way. The rest is folklore!!

That should have been the VFL Mark of the century.

Capper, Modra, White and Burton have all taken bigger marks in the AFL and a guy named Ian Hanna probably took the Australian Football mark of the century in the 70s in the sanfl with a leap higher than Jezza's off of 2 steps and a one handed grab with snap goal. If someone has Ian Hannas Mark of the Year on video id love to see it on here as it would blow peoples minds.
