  • Brillaint. Love this dog

  • @tiredofphailspelling 'Sweet Dreams'? For a bedtime scene? Still, know what you mean!

  • OMGosh I love it! We have 2 danes and they both do that! One of them does it to a couch that's devoted to them. He stomps just like that until all the couch pillows fall onto the floor, then he lays down. Honey is a beautiful dog.

  • Love it.

Do all great Danes sleep in a curled ball like that? Cause mine does! :)

  • I usually see cats prepare their bed like that. Cute though.

  • the cat is breakfast in bed.

  • Very nice dog, you must put a lot of training in to have such a well mannerd dog i commend you for that. It is a beautiful beast.

  • I have a Mastiff and she seems to HATE the fluffy beds, still don't know what that was about??? Got her a flat bed made more out of a cushion/mattress than fluff and she loves it.... Who knew!!!! lol....

  • why is this great dane evvvvvvvverywhere....

  • That is one of the cutest things I've ever seen! I love the after shot of her sleeping with the enemy!

  • She checked herself out before going to bed!

  • Aww... My great dane does that before lying down, too!

  • She's a particular girl.

  • Awwww sweet moose! Thats what we call my Great Dane sometimes hahaha. I'm sooo glad that you didnt crop her ears. GD's look so much better with natural ears.

  • shes beautiful, too bad u didnt crop her ears...just a personal like =)

  • she just had to feel it out and find just the right spot

     youtube (dot) com/watch?v=xcoII9bqtDI

  • My dane does something similar to Honey, then she lays down and if its not right she does it some more. She also tries to pull it as close to my bed as possible. When its just right she falls asleep right away and starts snoring. I love the personalities in danes, mine is always cracking me up.

  • She looks healthy and happy to me! What a cute Dane and a cute video!!

  • I love it! I've bee watching her videos and she's soooo cute!

  • I bought my dane a couple toddler matresses to sleep on. He loves his bed. He has 3 body pillows though in the living room for naps.

  • Beautiful dog ! I love great danes .Thanks for sharing your video.

  • She looks just like my Angus...same color and he does the same thing to his queen size bed...pulls down the covers to sleep on the sheets! LOVE LOVE LOVE my pups! Thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful dog!

  • This is so cute!!!!!

  • hehe i love great danes, and she even let the kitty on it

  • cute girl

  • She looks very comfortable on her queen sized bed and I like her big yawn.

  • Honey and my girl, Josey, could be twins, except that my Josey girl is getting gray on her face. She's 5 years old. She makes her bed a lot like Honey does. But sometimes, Josey will stomp on the bed with her front feet, up and down. She is so funny. I wouldn't trade her for a zillion bucks :)

  • where'd you get the bed? or did you make it??

  • I thought this was adorable. I love great danes. :)

  • That's adorable! She looks so much like my dane-shepard mix, Daisy! Except Daisy would tear up the bed intead of fluffing it XD

  • Great moment of video. If we move Mabel's bed she paws at it for 30 minutes to get it back to just the way she likes it. :-)

  • so cute!! where did you get that fluffy dog bed

  • @hsinyicohen you could have just said the answer and it would have been as much effort as writing your comment above *sigh*

  • @hsinyicohen easy stress head!

  • @hsinyicohen thats a dick comment when someone just wanter to know where that sweet bed came from. it must have taken as much time to type a ignorant reply as it would have just to tell them, thats real nice to someone who took timeout of there life to wtch your dog......you are an A**HOLE

  • @rockitshoe37 she did repeat a million times you bitch. it has nothing to do with ignorance :) so fuck off ..its pretty annoying how you guys dont make you're own research or look in the comments before asking. ...YOU ARE AN ASS HOLE BITCH

  • "in a serious voice" it looks like your dog is dekomydraded licking its lips and the such i am miss cleo....

but no any way all joking aside my dane tries to pull little mini zoomies before he lays down.

  • we have tried on several occasions to give our Dane Elvis one of those beds but being a young male he just wont leave it alone.......

  • Obviously some people who have commented on here have never tried walking on a bean bag.....it is impossible to do so without looking like you have one leg shorter than the other!!!! I have owned four great danes over the last 25 years and love their wisdom, their patience, and their sillyness. Honey looks like a beautiful big girl....you are very lucky!

  • Hello, I have 2 great danes and seems to me that your dogs is having pain in his joints. Have you tried PHYCOX JS SOFT CHEWS? They are natural (no chemicals) and did miracolous for my great dane.

just wanted to share with you cause my dane is the same age as your

  • Ha! Ha! Thanks for your concern but Honey doesn't have any problem with her joints! Where did you get that from? This is just the way she makes her bed - she has always done this from 8 week pup - and lots of other dogs do the same. She does Agility and Canine Freestyle, + a lot of mountain hikes & runs on the beach and is regularly checked by our vet...no pain, stiffness of movement or other problems! But thank you for your consideration!

  • oh ok i am sorry that was the impression i got when i saw her kind of limping from 00:05 - 00:10. Also what you told me is not proof that she is not in pain, dogs, specially great danes would do whatever when comes to having pain, even if it hurts a bit. I hope she is ok she is beautiful

  • having fun i meant, they do whatever when comes to having fun or play even if it hurts a bit

  • @LatinDelicious I think because it's fluffy she's walking funny on the bed, when she gets off the bed she doesn't limp. It is very common for bigger dogs like great danes to have joint problems but if you get them a good bed that should solve 80% of the problem. Cute dog.

  • "latindelicious"...lol

    1. great name..rofl

    2. you must me some sort of animal psychic...you can tell this based on a video of some dane forming a space on his pillow to lay down.

you're like the oracle and stuff...get a life.

  • @bigchimp

i don't know why are you getting that attitude if i am not being disrespectful to anyone, it really makes no sense.

I am a veterinarian student and i happen to have 2 great danes of my own. I based that not on an "oracle" but on observation and it was an advice with the best intentions, i think you are the ones who needs to get a life and learn proper manners

  • @bigchimp

if you observe from 00:05 to 00:10 seems that she is having a hard time holding much weight on her left arm, that is why she quickly changes her support to her right arm, like limping, also given her grey hair on her face i noticed she is old, so she can be at the very beginning of arthritis therefore i made a "recommendation" to the owner, she can take it or leave it, that is why it was a "recommendation"

    bye

  • Oh dear - why do people always have to get unpleasant? LatinDelicious - as I said, thank you very much for your concern - I appreciate it. There is nothing I can do to convince you that Honey is fine and in top condition with NO arthritis other than to ask you to trust my vet who has over 30yrs experience and also to watch my other videos of Honey running and jumping and playing. If you take the time to do that, I think you would be reassured.

  • I agree - dogs are very stoic and often hide their pain, esp if there are fun things to do. However, if Honey had any joint problems, it would show up in other situations too and she never limps in any situation - despite doing several activities which require a lot of flexibility and agility. What you saw is the beanbag shifting under her so she lost her balance and had to shift her weight - a human on a big beanbag trying to lie down without using their hands would get the same effect.

  • What on earth are you talking about?? I haven't deleted anything! I always leave all comments, even the ones that attack me personally - if they are ever removed, I think it is either by the author or by YouTube because too many people have given the comment a thumbs-down. Anyway, I just looked through this thread again and all your comments are there so I don't know what you're going on about. It's very strange.

  • You're the one who's coming across unnecessarily defensive and aggressive. From the beginning, I have thanked you for your concern and politely tried to explain why you may have it wrong but you seem to see that as bitching. I think people are objecting to your general tone which came across very "know-it-all" and accusing when it is actually very naive to deduce so much from a video taken out of context. But I have always thanked you for the effort to highlight a possible problem to me.

  • Well, I'm sorry too - I just wanted to point out that I have never attacked you from the beginning - if you look back on my comments, I have always thanked you for your concern and tried to explain things politely - and I felt that you were "attacking" me by claiming I deleted your comments and other things when I have simply let things play out - as I do with all other comments on YouTube, And I get some pretty nasty ones sometimes - like suggesting I eat Honey because I am Chinese!!

  • When Honey was a puppy, she did exactly the same movements to lie down - I have video of that - so I don't think she had arthritis and joint problems when she was 10wks old! By the way, she is 5yr old now (4 in this video) which is middle-aged for a Dane but not old yet. She started going grey at around 2yrs - so it's not really a good indicator of her age. I think it can be deceptive to judge too many things from a short video! I am well aware of arthritis in the breed and very careful.

  • @LatinDelicious you are only a student

  • lmao wtf

  • aww she's so adorable! my great dane is so spoiled that she wont even get into bed unless we pull up the covers for her and tuck her under. she stares us down until we let her under.

  • lol my great dane bandit fluffs his bed he starts by like throwing it around and like puts his front feet in front of it and pulls back and dose that for like 5 min

  • shes so cute

  • HHAHAH OMG I LOVE HER!!!!

  • Wow, she's beautiful!!!! And I love how happy and secure your kitty is next to her!! We have just had our first ever 8 week old harlequinn mis mark female Great Dane to join our family, she came yesterday.. so much to research!! I'm definately going to subscribe to you on here if that's ok!!

    Mary xx

  • i have a great dane and she is 1 and a half and she is the most loyal, gentle and loving dog i have ever met. As well as being dopey she is very very smart and would play with anything and everything. But she sleeps with me in my king size bed

  • But I wouldn't recommend a beanbag bed if your dog chews...there would soon be beans everywhere! We're lucky in that Honey is not destructive and doesn't chew her bed. But you could still get a tailor to make up the outer covers and just fill it with foam or similar...

    Good luck!

  • All the pet store dog beds were too small for Honey to be comfortable - even though they were XXXL size! And expensive too! So we just got some fabric and went to the tailor and asked her to make up a giant beanbag cover (there is an inner and then an outer washable cover) - which we then filled with "beans" we bought from the hardware store. Honey has always slept on beanbags and won't sleep on anything else!

  • Where did you get that great bed! I want one! I have two danes and can't find a good bed that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

    thanks

  • Honey is adorable.

    Has her ears

    Has her tail

...Everything is as it should be.

  • Awh!!!! I love it !!! Gotta love our great danes - kirks and all ; )

  • Hello Dane lovers:

My husband just got me a new babe dane, I love her, but I am so worried about her bed, and her play time, and her diet. Is royal Canin Maxi ok? and her bed can be a regular matress o they rather croll like the one in the video? Can someone give advice.

    Thanx

  • Food=I only feed my dane eagle pack hollistic giant breed formula. Puppies especially need "giant breed" formula food. It is formulated to help joint and bone development. Anything else could seriously damage your dog's joint/bone structure.

Play time=be sure to exercise your dane about an hour a day. The more activity, the healthier the dog.

Bed=this is the tricky one. All dogs are different. I would suggest trying one out and going from there. We went through 3 before we settled on 1.

  • I agree with the Eagle Pack food. I don't think it matters whether you use Hollistic or the regular formula - I use the regular formula and my dane does great on it! I used the giant breed formula until he was 10 mos. old then I switched to adult. I also use supplements recommended by the 'great dane lady'. Just google 'great dane lady' and her website will come up. I don't use all the supplements, just the ones you think your dog might need. I use the 4 in 1 probiotics and nzymes.

  • cute!!!

  • this is really adorable!! :)

  • lol I was going to say that she's like a giant cat, then pow! there's a cat lol so cute!

  • she's so beautiful.

i love great danes and their silly quirks.

  • i need to buy my dane big ass pillows, where did u get urs???

  • I have a great dane and he does this every time before he goes to sleep. He doesn't like any bumps on his bed it has to be completely flat.

  • She has a snack for when she wakes up!

  • LOL! Shame on you!

  • How sweet was that!

  • beautiful dane

  • That was adorable =P

  • Another great vid!!

Funny how they go around and around.
