I am huge fan of Gervais and co but some of the comments left by his sycophantic "followers" on here are just beyond the pale...I may laugh for a second at the Bo-Selecta thing but then I feel deeply uneasy about it, especially having read this article on a site called sotcaa(youtube won't post link)

Vicky Lucas deserves more repect than this.

Gervais is a propper c***. Not only is this not funny but its genuinely cruel and snide. He's a rubbish comedian and a terrible film maker. This only confirms his average abilities.

I don't think Ricky and Steve are laughing AT you Victoria. They're far too clever and PC-concious for that (and quite rightly). They're more laughing at Karl because of the fact that he acknowledged your disability and showed some heart but then just went back to insulting you. Ricky was laughing as a reflex action to Karl's hypocrisy, mainly because he's a stupid, bald, Manc twat. Also there's an element of Ricky laughing in a sense of, 'Oh, you can't say that!'

Later that series, Stephen refers to me as being bigger than Karl 'at least headwise' because I didn't make an official complaint (actually I did and got a letter of apology from the managing director promising they would make no further mention of me!) and Ricky asks Karl where I come in that years list of Freak of the Year. They are cowards who use humour to take the piss out of disabled people like me - and get away with it because people think they're being clever and ironic. They're not.

Karl's not really the ironic sort, if you know anything about him - his comments were probably more naivety than anything. Similar for Ricky and Steve, it's not easy to anticipate the way these things turn out and a lot of the humour on these shows is spontaneous. You can laugh without it being with malice, even if it's not explicitly implied.

Can't really comment further than that, it is sort of a dodgy topic and I'm sorry for all the shit you get.

I'm the woman referred to in this clip. I would appreciate it if you removed it, as it's causing me and my family a great deal of distress, as did the original broadcast. Please understand that while it may seem just a joke to you, what Gervais and Pikington did meant that I've had to deal with an increase in verbal abuse and threats of violence, and uploading the clip to Youtube will only encourage more of this.
