My understanding is that in 10-20 years nanotechnology will be able to take all that waste and convert it into something useful and at that point we can save the Earth. Although I'm sure there will be drawbacks to nanotechnology. I just know the future of nanotechnology holds a lot of solutions for us.

The same argument can be made for old deposit soda bottles and cloth diapers. The problem with society is that they want things to be quick and easy. They don't want to exert any effort toward or have to be bogged down with returning soda bottles to the store, washing cloth diapers, or having a milk man come buy and pick up your bottles. Most of these have been replaced with disposable plastics that are made from Petrolem, aka. OIL. SO I guess the question is, are we really better off ? NO.

My daughter is a tomboy and there are Mom's on the block that freak of their kids gets a speck of dirt on them and I can guarantee those are the kids that are bathing in the antibacterial crap and on antibiotics every time they sneeze ..Does no one realize than germs have been around alot longer than we have !! That is why we have an immune system in the first place !! Catch a cold or kill the planet ..HMM which is worse?

I agree with your points completely...but there's hope.
My understanding is that in 10-20 years nanotechnology will be able to take all that waste and convert it into something useful and at that point we can save the Earth. Although I'm sure there will be drawbacks to nanotechnology. I just know the future of nanotechnology holds a lot of solutions for us.

The same argument can be made for old deposit soda bottles and cloth diapers. The problem with society is that they want things to be quick and easy. They don't want to exert any effort toward or have to be bogged down with returning soda bottles to the store, washing cloth diapers, or having a milk man come buy and pick up your bottles. Most of these have been replaced with disposable plastics that are made from Petrolem, aka. OIL. SO I guess the question is, are we really better off ? NO.
