  • So it sounds like by you description that the Nano coated plats are an 8 cell configuration?

  • There is one positive on one end and one negative on the other. Six neutral plates in between for a total of eight plates in each device. That leaves 7 plate gaps each with 50 sq inches of reactive plate surface.

  • very nice, good information, thanks

  • Look forward to seeing how the nano coating works out for you

  • Fascinating.

What is the Nano Particle you mention?

  • The nano particle coating is nickel/iron nano particles coating the cathode.

  • Larry

Question? Just the minus side is coated and the positive side is plain 316 stainless steel??

Some day could you give us a close up of each side of one of the coated plates? Or do you have no spares not in use?

  • Larry, I'm curius as to how well the Nano coated plates are holding up, a perceptibe coating loss? What did they cost you? Also, did the company that coated your plates (Can't remember the name) discuss any other electrolyte or coating materials they may have tested that gave them better results?

  • After the first fun of 1 week non stop the plates looked better than new. Quantum Sphere tested them fot 1000 hours with no measurable loss. They use KOH as well. As hard as we look KOH seems to be best. In order to duplicate their tests I need to order more KOH. I am at 20% KOH and they found highest effeciency at 33%.

  • Just thinking that the ss cell is at max effeciency, while nano cell might be going to starve for KOH flow due to increase in production of bubbles ? Just curious, if you will be testing for this ?

  • Yes, I am going to have to run seperate tests letting each cell run individually and adjusting the power to each cell one at a time . The nano particle cell definately needs more current density to be at peak effeciency. If I run them together I will decrease effeciency on the stainless cell while robbing the nano cell of the power it wants.

  • Right on LarryYou've come almost full circle,back to a wet cell,congratulations.

I see you got rid of the bolt holes, no cracks, what kind of acrilic glue you useing ? Almost time to increase inlet hole size and restrick outlet holes, then increase flow, it does'nt take as long as you would think to form a bubble when they are compressed. I and some others have found a sweet spot at cell over pressures, diferent for each cell...Very good Larry, hope to see some good results from your tests.

  • There is no glue at all. It is a slovent called Weld On 3. It actually disolves the acrylic. As the solvent evaporates the acrylic hardens back again. The two pieces form one. The joints are actually stronger thah the acrylic and there is no glue to disolve.

Yes it is almost a wet cell but with current leakage blocked.

    Larry

  • On the + and - anoids, I don't think they care if they leak...eay ?

  • I mean that they could be pourous ?

  • Looking good man ....Have you determined if the extra cost is worth it yet?

  • The extra cost is still something that I have not completely decided on. I have many more tests to run before I make that conclusion. The one thing I know for sure is that the nano particle coating does make the cell produce more.

  • Excellent craftsmanship. 5*

  • Thanks, It could have been better but I have limited time.

    Larry

  • I think it is pretty damn close to perfection, now I am already curious if there would be a difference with wider plate spacing and nickel plates, but now I am going to fast. At least this type of configuration may be worth to try some small nickel plates. I love it, and I am very impressed, can't wait to see the MMW values. The manifold concept is something that crossed my mind several times, but for me it was to difficult and to expensive to build so I am very excited to see it run !!!

  • So with the same elite its pullin more amps, awsome .

Thats some good work , dam good.

  • I did kinda the same kind of electrcal connection but I made the connections top and bottom like the plate had two connections, top and bottom on both plates to try to spread out the current and did lpm tests but did not see any difference, but oh well keep on stimulating the economy.

  • that is fantastic larry. so good to see your work.

i have copper plating on my outside plates for distribution testing. come on over and see my first you tube video. i am so proud to be involved.

    regards andy

  • An inspiration to all of us. Excellent work Larry.

By The looks of the production i think the results will be good.

    Keep it up.....

  • Andy, I have considered that many times. It should help with conductivity you just must find a way to keep it away from the KOH. It should help effeciency.

    Larry

  • wow indeed, cant wait for the numbers...

  • WOW That is all I can say.
