Why are the police holding back so many people? and why is someone else drenching him with gasoline. Who lit the match? It almost looks like he is being executed on the street by a fellow monk.. disturbing to look at
if that doesn't move you, i don't know what will... there is a deeper message there than just a political statement. That we are all ONE... one group is not more important than another or one life more than another's.
It's so shocking but I've tried to understand this act and went on reading something about it, and realized that it's selfless and motivated by great compassion and altruism. It still is difficult for my western mind to understand it, and i don´t fell so good about it, as if someone offered me something which I'm not able to understand or use properly. Nevertheless, I express my infinite gratitude.
