The problem is that you want to believe in UFOs. So everything you see that you cannot explain you default to UFOs. This also happens in religion where people default to God if they cannot explain something. But honestly you should be very open minded and not let a belief interfere with rational thought. As with religion the reason there is debate is because there is no concrete proof. All I see are pictures of clouds and possibly a missle, but this is all assumption. As is it's a UFO.

@Subninja09 Whats flying and unidentified is a Unidentified Flying Object. Doesnt mean its an alien. So yes, those are 100% UFO, but certainly no alien.

That my friends is a nuclear explosion in space. Also known as an E.M.P. electro magnetic pulse. you have pics of a rocket leaving earth switching from liquid to solid rocket boosters, then you show it penitrating the different layers of our atmosphere then an atomic size explosion. the ten "U.F.O.'s" were more than likely observation planes or helocopters watching the test of an E.M.P. it was 1977 after all and not much was known of that type of technology then, thats why they tested it.

The pictures show it's an object and by the descriptions it suggests it was not a missile, it could have been another type of weapon/craft because of the way it behaved like stopping and changing directions. Unless the directional change was extreme it was not a missile because a missile shots exhaust in one direction and it does not make sudden changes. Why would this happen where people could see it if it's something secret? It's there like some kind of military base around the Canary Islands?

Maybe it is the latest high tech spacecrafts the military is keeping under wraps. A lot of the UFOs are likely to be such given the apparent eagerness for them to investigate and pooh pooh the findings after taking away key evidence, as suggested by various videos.That, or we have been successfully invaded and our political masters are mind controlled, including the military and security agencies.

didn't this incident occur on the 22nd June 1979? anyway, to those ridiculous comments below......it was unusual atmospheric conditions, a test missile, a military black-op, etc., please research before posting blindly. there were hundreds if not thousands of witnesses to this incident. the first being a ship off the coast who were all well-versed in military excercises to a doctor with several back-up witnesses who described seeing a blue crystal-like transparent sphere with humanoid occupants

Yes, the trail seems a missile, but the atmospheric effects, the witnesses, that disappears without a trace, there was no military ship around and more ... There is no logical explanation, it is a UFO :)

Regarding the illumination of the islands, consider that the photos were taken with large expositions. Anyway, the photos don't show "all the islands as if it were day"...

What the witnesses say, others have seen that the object turned on itself, several witnesses from different islands say they illuminate everything and there was no military ship testing. I think it would be risky and dangerous even testing near the islands. Even U.S. aircraft have witnessed when they saw the object on the sea and then go at a speed that not a jet or missile could reach.
