That's the most pathetic display of Wing Chun I've ever seen, even by YouTube standards. Wing Chun is a complete martial art, contrary to what has been said here, but Muay Thai would certainly defeat anything I have seen on YouTube. I'm a student of Wing Chun, and this Chi Sau is just plain wrong.
if you research more you find that wing chun is an academic (add on) to the martial arts rather than a stand alone martial art, following its princible,s will enhance you stand up fighting no matter what you generally practice. And as you say with the boxing...well it seems that when wingchun is mastered and used in bareknuckle fighting what is seen usually resembles western bare knuckle boxing with a few refinements and more circular striking than straight chain punching
@robjbray==Ving Tsun is a bare-knuckle boxing. My Gung Fu looks very much like how Tom Molineaux and John L. Sullivan fought. Only Chop-Socky film fanatics have the ludicrous expectation that Ving Tsun in action will make you some superman, or look like the choreography from 'The Prodigal Son.' Often, when my friends from other sports/disciples spar with me they say, "Wait, you're just boxing!" Good Ving Tsun is a simple, direct, and efficient weapon-nothing less. (This film does suck, though)
@robjbray Thank you for the statement. I used to train in Wing Chun, but now am training in a Southern Mantis School that adds Bak Mei and Hakka techniques to it.
