Memphis has a very high crime rate the highest in The U.S But back when Elvis was alive and still lived near whitehaven and lived in graceland it was a beautiful place from what i've seen in photos.. now Memphis is pretty ran down lots of crap going on all the time but it has a huge amount of history in the city the home of the blues and the home of the king of rock.. If you read the description you would see that this song is edited. Since Cher and Marc Cohn didn't sing in the same key nanzi1291 (who did a great job btw) adjusted her voice which is probably the reason she sounds a bit mannish to you.
