Age doesn't matter.  I'm 24, for example. Does this effect what I think of music? Not especially. I still like old music, I still like new music, and bad music is still bad.

And who knows? Maybe one day pop will be metal. After all, pop is only whatever is popular at the time. It's doubtful, though.

Main problem with it is that there's no soul or passion. It's churned out to make money quickly, and the artists are often quickly forgotten when new ones are brought in as the 'next big thing'.

Metal can suffer from this as well, of course. Though many would define such bands as being decidedly 'non-metal' on princible.

i believe it's always been like that except the golden era of 40s-50s when music is simpler and played a bigger part in people's lives. Metal just stays consistent because there's really just a small part of creativity in this style of music but people prefer that so it's all good
