  • They better be thankful they found Justin Hayward. He made timeless music with them.

  • I never heard this side of the Moody Blues before. They are great.

  • I love this...cool cats and chicks enjoy...

  • Interesting that there's an "Animals" video on the left side. Justin Hayward's name was pulled from a mail bag of guitarists for the Animals. They found someone else and the bag was given to the Moody Blues to replace Denny Laine!

  • OMG! Shindig!! What a flashback to 9th grade..and same with me..I do not remember this particular episode. Nobody missed this show if you loved music and most of us did. Thanks for preserving this on You Tube. This was around the same time the Beatles were hitting us and all the other British groups. So much fun back then. I am glad that they went on to composing and became the band that did Nights In White Satin. It was a time that many of us needed their songs and lyrics. Still do.

  • wow! Real Blues from the Moodys! excellent. I must have missed this epid]sode of Shindig.

  • Worth it to see Mike Pinder in a suit! :)

  • More Blues, less Moodys.

  • Grahame Edge, Mike Pinder, Justin Haywood, John Lodge, when they were truly British Invasion Blues Rockers, great stuff!....Just before they they took a trip past the inner doorways of the mind, and emerged on the other side with the brilliant ledgendary music they are most famous for, music to travel eternity road with..

  • @TheEldoradoKid No Haywood or Lodge.

  • @TheEldoradoKid I think lodge and haywood were lads in school at the time listening to the moody blues

  • @321ssteeeeeve Yes, perhaps they were just lads. My fault for not recognizing the early line-up of the band. But this indeed is a fascinating clip, which just shows how far they have come! They still remain one of my all time favorites...

  • 1965 Oh yeah I was 6 yrs old, and already rockin' as I had two older bros.

  • Not to put too fine a point on it, but I remember this show. Gaaaah! Thanks for posting.

  • Great fun to see the Mark I Moody Blues! Still, they went on to form their biggest hits with Hayward and Lodge. Hubby and I still go to their concerts. Long may they continue to perform!

  • Thanks for this...
