Man, for a guy that was down all the time and feeling his life was sort of empty, he's sure had a lot of interesting things happen to him. He got his shit drawn by Crumb fer chris'sakes
@justinvestal26 I love when Harvey's making his quick getaway and Toby calls after him, like he's semi-expecting to be called out on taking his fries. Ahaha
" A very cool and unique scene from a helluva good movie. the way "the pina colada song" blends in with the humor and the brilliant acting here is pure magnificence. Whoever the one person was that didn't like this should play a jock in the next" revenge of the nerds" movie.
Thanks for uploading this dude! Great movie. Just saw it for the first time a couple nights ago. I like Judah Friedlander showing off his acting chops, wish he'd get more roles to do so...and Paul Giamatti is always gold.
Thanks for posting. This is one of the most memorable scenes from this movie. Brilliant acting! I forgot a whole bunch of scenes, but this one made me laugh so hard I could never forget. Altough, I had forgotten about the precious cough moment. His 'nerd' reach the nerdiest possible pronunciation, which is 'nierrrd'. hahaha.
i loved the scenes where they had the actors sitting behind harvey and tobey, and listening to their conversations.this was a fantastic movie, thanks for the memories harvey,r.i.p.
@CJAnonymous Agreed. Also, fwiw, there's a couple of scenes in the film where the two are actually together--Pekar and the actor portraying him, Giamatti. Since I saw it only once when it was originally released, I can't remember how it played out; but I do seem to remember feeling it was kind of slick.
lol, i'm both an american splendor and 30 rock fan, but seeing american splendor first (and judahs looks is quite different :D) i never realized judah friedlander was in both. awesome guy.
I think Judah Friedlander does Toby Radloff better than Toby Radloff does Toby Radloff. "American Splendor" was a great film, and I was glad to be part of its success. I still miss Harvey Pekar.

@UberSecret: I was actually talking about Toby (it was in response to another comment), but that applies to Giamatti/Pekar, too.

@UberSecret I think them seems of Giamatti & Pekar make this film what it is... a masterpiece of cinema & story telling.
