  • These are among the last shorts that Curly starred in. His health was in decline and it's sad to watch him in his ailing condition. Directors Jules White and Edward Bernds had to work around Curly's illness by diverting attention towards Larry and Moe. The studio bosses wouldn't allow Curly to take time off to recover.

  • Hate the colorized Stooges shorts, but can't dislike the videos because I love the Three Stooges so much! :D

  • @frrrrrunkis The colorization doesn't detract from the humor though. I've enjoyed watching the colorized eps just to see how accurate they were. But when they announced that all Stooge episodes were remastered, in black and white only on DVD...well soon after there was a complete set for my DVD library. It's too bad they are wasting time making a modern Stooges movie, that movie is predestined to FAIL.

  • @transformersforever I will say that they did a wonderful job with the colorization, they look good even though it just doesn't feel right. Also, I'm with you 100% on the Stooges movie...it looks like it's going to be terrible. That being said, I'll give it a shot since the movie theater in my town offers $3 matinees. I've spent more on much worse things...lol

  • god bless the three stooges their shows will on forever

  • at 4:33 Curly made a mistake he said,Soup is boiling over,he was sapouse to say,The Beer is boiling over

  • The Three Stooges NEVER filmed a short in color, these have been colorized and very well I might add, however it takes the original out of the film.

  • so where did color copies of these films come from?

  • Why did Moe eat the wrapper of the yeast?

  • Comment removed

  • 3:35, did I see him eat the wrapping the yeast came in?

  • You can tell Curley is not well in these era Stooges shorts. He seems to be much slower. After the beer explodes they used footage from a short years before.

  • curly talking in his normal voice is very good, i would NEVER get curly mad i know he can be a GOOD fighter

  • @floridaman2000 No, at that time, Curly voice was raspering and getting worser than he was in the early 40s. In fact, Curly suffered minor strokes prior to filming "Beer Barrel Polecats". As a result, his performance was marred by slurred speech and slower timing. That's why toward the end of the vid and part 2, you could see the director of this film reused shorts from the past, "In the Sweet Pie and Pie" and "So Long Mr. Chumps", both released in 1941 to make it up for Curly performance.

  • @Hperman09 Quite correct. If there is one episode that can be marked as the start of Curly's decline it would be this one. The spliced in footage from the other episodes helps to complete this episode, but some of the dialogue in the spliced footage makes no sense and doesn't fit with the beginning of the skit, such as them suddenly being in jail to get Pomeroy out..... It's too bad that the head of Columbia was such a hardnose and didn't let Curly recover his health.

  • Did mo just eat those yeast wrappers? 0_0

    they look tasty :P

  • damn that's alot of beer

  • @stevemartinovich silly dvd player i was using letting everyone know you can watch this in two views.....color or black and white. I'm not going to use this dvd player anymore to post videos in color....its distracting.

  • @american2015 does putting in more cake yeast actually created a bubble like this guys did?

  • At 2:37, Curly's singing really got me lmao. Long live The Three Stooges.

  • I never understood the tapeworm joke. Is it supposed to be funny on it's own or is it just a running gag? There are Many episodes with the tapeworm joke

  • @solar9019 Longest running gag they had.

  • what was the last episode of the three stooges

  • @nightwing2471 kooks tour with curly joe

  • @nightwing2471 Three Troubledoers with Joe Besser 1958

  • When curly said im 2 young to die it broke my heart to know that in 6 more years he would be dead

  • The three stooges went to jail??

  • The Three Stooges never fail to make at least one funny moment in one of their episodes. This episode had one of the funniest beginnings before they went to jail.

  • Pour one can of Hopes...Hoppes. Into a large Crook...Crock. Classic Stooge.

  • @moviencartoons2 Protestants were heavily promoting their belief that alcohol was the devil's drink..it turned people into violent raging animals and was the cause of all the problems in society. After they convinced enough people to agree with these beliefs, the U.S. (and parts of Canada) banned the sale and consumption of alcohol completely. (However, Canada still allowed for exporting of alcohol).

  • @hershorn And then after it was overruled.. they blamed it on Comic Books..

  • HAHAHAHAHA WEE WWEEE WEWE HAHAHAHA

  • Thats for uploading this!

  • Crly fail at 1:43

  • You can tell that the second part of this short was scenes from another. In this first part you cam tell that Curly's health was deteriorating. I think he had a stroke during filming and had to complete the movie with scenes from another.

  • prohibition ended long before these skits though, i guess they were doing a scene from the 20s or early 30s

  • I like the color, but i thought black and white was better. Cool video, thumbs up

  • thanks for uploading !

  • does anyone know how many times they used that tapeworm joke?

  • @dannyrose55 I think in like three other shorts that I know of

  • @dannyrose55 I've heard it at least twice

  • Thank You For Listening I Haven't Seen This Is Color I Saw This In Black & White
