  • Asgard is conceived as being on the earth. A rainbow bridge, Bifröst, connects it to heaven (Section 13).

  • I remember hearing this live in like 91 at Red Rocks. Kicked my ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getcha Pull

  • you don't really think of guitars when you think of the Moodies, but this dude can flat out play.

  • I got an answer for those seven, right here.

  • Thumbs Up If Pirates Of Silicon Valley Brought You Here :D

  • I had said you could get lost in it....but I want to and never come out...the music is that good.

  • To me....their music is spiritual....envokes thought....and you can easily get lost in it....TIMELESS.

  • wow

  • Brilliant, just brilliant! I get chills up my spine listening to this song.

  • why is there no people my age that listen to this!

  • @joshfontanella why ARE there no people your age WHO listen to this?

    there are. dont worry :)

  • Thumbs Up if Howard Stern brought you here

  • Great video! Thanks for the upload!

  • I learned to play this by ear the other day. Tune your guitar to C. Brilliant song.

  • A question that has never been properly answered or even acknowledged. We still ask the question, and we still need an answer.

This is pretty much a song for all time.

  • amazing song

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

  • To me, this song is about the (understandable) difficulty people have with the concept of God. God isn't going to change your life, letting Him into your life will. That's a difficult nut to crack which obviously let to a beautiful song.

  • @69drummerdude Even if it wasn't, the concept still applies beautifully. I've seen so many ""secular" songs whose ultimate point so clearly can pertain to the struggles people have with God. The irony can be spectacular.

  • Great, great song!

  • Thanks, dad, for getting me into the greats at a young age.

  • Proper music by the greats

  • I'm looking for a miracle in my life too, "haha", a sour, tongue-in-cheek "haha"

  • in the middle part of the song, is he struggling over the possibility that his true love or soul mate might have passed on? "But in the gray of the morning, my mind becomes confused between the dead and the sleeping, and the road that I must choose."

  • @raym04111969 its probably up to listener interpretation i prefer the first interpretation personally

  • What's with the repeat/loop at 4:20 and 4:22? It's jarring

  • They made some great music ,unlike Townsend who threw a spanner in the works for THE WHO with his downloading scandal.

  • Love this song!!

  • @jr19711 yea

  • @erinnarak start writing Questions is a good song for this.

  • For Deb. I love You. This is "Thee Question" 1970, Love HEMI-Joe

  • QUESTION EVERYTHING AND TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED IN LIFE..THINK OF THAT...QUESTION AUTHORITY, CAPITALISM, EVERYTHING...MAYBE THEN U WILL FIND WHAT U ARE LOOKING FOR AND THAT COULD DEFINATELY RELATE TO A RELATIONSHIP ALSO..DAMN..DAMN..DAMN....I CAN NEVER QUESTION WHAT I FELT FOR KITTY AND THAT WILL ALWAYS KILL ME AND COME BACK TO HAUNT ME....BUT ITS GOT TO STOP B/4 I LOSE MY MIND....

  • before i heard question of balance cd i thought the moody blues are not soo good, but this is one of the best cd'c i know...

  • LOVE

  • is it just me or are there like 3 different studio versions of this song?

  • @PicturePerfct1 theres at least two i know of....i like this one best cause it doesnt have those "ah-ahhh's" at the beginning only at the end...the beginnings got a great guitar riff that the "ah ahhh's" spoil

  • As much as I love you, and I do, Jesus loves you so much more. He is God. He is gracious, kind, forgiving, and gives you more love and peace than you could ever imagine. Please ask Him into your heart.

Love is the only reason why!!!!!!

  • I'm lookin for someone to change my life.. Fantastic song

  • this music is so sick dude!

  • Is it just me, or would The Flaming Lips do a decent version of this? Don't get me wrong, I love this song, and I'm not particularly a big Flaming Lips fan, but I could see them pulling it off.

  • I really like the Orchestra ( usually the London smyphany ) used in the background in mnay of the classic Moody Blues songs.

  • The Moody Blues are so underrated its unbelievable !

  • @Chrissie644 I know this was uploaded a few moons back, yet, damn this version is fantastic, really shows, you put some love into the sound quality, thanks for the upload. PEACE TO ALL!!!

  • @radioheadkids2

    Thank you,

    Chris

  • perfect thnx

  • Another amazing song from the Moody Blues. This is going into my MB favorites playlist. Thanks for the contribution. A good song can be a bit of peace and beauty in our world of confusion.

  • i've found my miracle.................

  • @earlation ???

  • This song has such a great lyrical meaning and just plain old nostalgic to me. Reminds me of my childhood, but its also relevant to my adulthood. Beautiful music and lyrics and everything!

  • "i'm looking for a miracle in my life" me too, me too...

  • @beerkat88 me too....I was singing this song in the shower today. Love it soo much. When he starts singing that lyric about needing a miracle in his life I just started bawling

  • @rsohlich1 YOU are the miracle. believe in yourself :D

in the ocean of life, let the golden rule be your sail, and your spirit the wind...... honesty/integrity will keep u from sinking

  • @valeo626 Thanks for the encouragement! Peace

  • Yes, the music woke we the baby-boomers up. Only to watch Americans buy foreign products which in turn sent companies overseas to produce their products. We watched the greedy and selfish of all generations destroy the life we once knew !!

Once we had unions and a decent wage, everyone bought American products...concepts are great when their is a system to live off of. Get my drift !!!

  • @nehouma Unfortunately the greedy and selfish are the unions, which drove the prices up and forced the companies overseas for less expensive labor so that they could compete with the foreign products which cost less. Now the unions are running scared because their funding base is shrinking making it more difficult for them to buy socialist politicians like the current campaigner in chief and vice versa. Rant concluded.

  • THE QUSTION IS

why does the new world order want to kill us all off ??

  • @lowaces The answer is 444

  • as so many have said here this song is as important now as it was then and listening to this song the last few times it is a timeless classic flawless in presentation and superior in its message i am proud to say i grew up with this music and my family taught me to always question everything and try to understand for yourself in this life you live

musicians today in my opinion need to take note and learn if they wish to achieve the level of power like the moody blues

    thank you for uploading

  • Loved this song at the beginning of the movie " Pirates of Silicon Valley". Glad to find it again!

  • go ahead knock on the doors of most of these millionaires living in this country and ask where they got the money.

I bet most of them stole it. Thats why they arent awnsering the door.

  • @HighFlyingRaven I'm with you, brother. Believe me, I understand.

  • that is a fuckin awesome bass line isnt it

  • @Msbac2u Absolutely! Really carries it.

  • Pirates of Silicon Valley! 8D

  • anyone know where i can get the mp3 of this version of the song?

  • You can't change the things you don't care about.

  • I love the bass!!!!!

  • "It's where we stop and look around us

There is nothing that we need

    In a world of persecution

That is burning in it's greed" -So very true

  • "Between the silence of the mountains and the crashing of the sea lies a land I once lived in.." That has to be beautiful Santa Barbara, the home I long for. I'm looking for a miracle in my life.

  • @winddancer1562 No it's supposed to be Compton!

  • So many questions

  • no homo

  • Am I crazy or did the Moody Blues redo all their hits and release the shit 20 years after originally releasing it? I think the newer stuff sounds like shit compared to the classic stuff. Maybe it just always sounds different each time I hear depending on the musical source.

  • @5stringofFernandoSor

No, you are not imagining it. The moody blues in the late 80's remastered many of their hits with overdone, rather overproduced classical accompanying instruments blending in with the original instruments from the original recordings. Usually in rock a piece sounds way better stripped down than a piece that has a 20 pc. orchestra backing it.

  • loved this track since I was 'bout 8 yearsold, don't ask me why, that's the question

  • this song makes my mom cries as she prepares her spaghetti squash

  • @physicsfemme: I fully understand why. I still cry as well when I hear this song. There are tears now on my laptop as I write this. Please send your mother my reguards and tell her others are so moved by this song as well.

  • Please You Tube i love you...just get rid of vevo

  • guess "the who" were inspired by moody blues..... sounds real similar strumming and harmonies.......

  • THAT'S IT!

Why do we never get an answer when we're knocking at the door? 42!

No, no, that doesn't work. Never mind.

  • How come most modern day bands on the hit list can't write songs that are even close to as good as songs like this one?

  • @DanSVT03 This particular song is actually two songs merged together. For a while, he was kind of sitting on that soft guitar part that he put together in between their other material. Then when the Moody's were working on Question, the idea to insert that guitar piece came up and well, this song became another magical hit!

  • masterpiece

  • why would you listen to a song only to dislike it?

  • GOOGLE> ANGELS ARE PEOPLE TOO AREYOUFOREAL says John Joseph O'Brien :-)

  • Justin, has the music ascap awards,so He does know how to play rock and roll

  • The Question: Am I What I Was.....or....Was I What I Am....(Traffic)

  • but all that good songs has not changed the world no the manipulation and abuse is even stronger .

    but yes a great song

  • @koenbergheger: agree completely

    Chris+

  • @Chrissie644

at least someone who is not blind.

and if you look at the video on you tube from the federal reserve and the all those so called ???terrorist atacks it is one big falls complot to abuse people controle te money system and energy sources and to make more then half of the world population in eternal debt and slavery (at least think twice ) with all those lying greedy pocketfillers in power. it makes even a dead body cry.greetings koen.bergheger@gmail.com

  • @Chrissie644

Alas, we must learn to rise above

  • @koenbergheger If all you look for is Sadness ,Despair ,Tragedy and the terrible things in life thats all you'll see and Find. There are Far more greater Kinder and wonderful things going on that truly out number the bad. Just look for those things the news will give you crap stuff.

  • @BillysDragin u can't change what is by wishing "Happy Thoughts"

    Real change starts with Understanding

  • @Syzygy60 that's not even close to what i said....Ive stepped in puddles deeper....good grief

  • @koenbergheger But are you changed? That is the only question that matters.

  • @koenbergheger

Partner, that's one dreadful outlook you seem to have going on. Songs may provide some sentiment and food for thought, but only PEOPLE can change the world. Like it or not, manipulation and abuse are a part of human nature -- we're not really all that far removed from grunting cavemen and barbarians -- and there are those who refuse to keep it in check.. Even today, entire governments are build around fear, violence and oppression...

  • @TheBillsCatz Well said. Especially today. In fact, it's getting worse and worse, because the manipulators think it's all about power and lust and money, and sad to say, too many believe them. When I hear music like this, it lifts me to higher ground where I can see things more clearly. But then again, it all depends on what you are looking for, cause whatever it is, that's what you're going to find. Those who look for nothing find nothing.

  • @koenbergheger I totally agree with your take on the world situation. I don't think the Moodies had in mind changing the world, though, only waking a few of us up. They didn't have all the anwers. Everybody else was saying: "Look around you at what's happening". They were saying: "If you want to keep your sanity in this insane world, look beyond it and search for meaning and truth. Some of us did just that. Of course, it's a lifelong quest, but any journey begins with the first step. Bless you.

  • @koenbergheger inderdaad!! maar de muziek is onze troost

  • This was a response to AMERICA'S involvement in Viet Nam. Just a little history children. But WHAT A GREAT SONG! Made me pick up my guitar and play.... Just like yesterday!

  • music is trulry amazing . for those of us that get it carry on , and those that dont,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well

  • @JasonBonitati- the album version is almost a whole minute longer than the single. You work it out.

  • simply profound

why are there no more songs like this?

all is so shallow and petty but this is real

  • This song is harder to play than I thought!

  • @mustwinder You found that out, too!

  • @12Racer99 Yeah, I can play it now but it took some serious practice! I guess my hand is getting slow, old age maybe.

  • @mustwinder The old age thing I understand! Only too well.

  • @mustwinder I'm fairly certain they've got more than one guitar going which lends to the constant cascade of sound. Are they using 12 string or 6? Is 6 capable of the same sound? And i'm sure age had little to do with it, and lots of speed and weed most likely inspired this song. I mean it would be hard to conceptualize and actually carry out writing a song of this 'speed' without being on that level already. Brilliant guitar rift but definitely not something that was written sober.

  • @proximity1111 The guitar sound at the beginning is Justin Hayward strumming a 12-string guitar with Mike Pinder matching his rhythm on a tambourine. This song is the combination of two different songs Justin Hayward was working on at the time. He got the idea to combine them at a scheduled Saturday morning recording session when he needed to present a song to the band.

  • @proximity1111 12 string for sure! 12 string has a fuller, more rich sound when strumming but honestly, I've only played a few times and it's been years. You could definitely make this song sound decent on a 6 string, I have it down now. Yeah, speed, weed and probably some LSD. Good example of the difference between a 6 string and 12 string would be Wish You Were Here by Floyd.

  • This sounds different than the album version! Single version?

  • Probably the best tune on the album!

  • thx dad:)

  • The moody blues helped me so much coming up through my mid to late teens. They were like my first REAL teacher....

  • thats wasnt made for

  • yes it does...the web want made for commericals that why you have tv....google has alot more to do with youtube than vevo...get rid of all the commericals off the web ...kapice !

  • @RaisingWar agreed web wasnt made for commercials its corporate bastards trying to get their piece of action again bastards they want to own and ruin everything

  • On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it an 11.

  • I love you! Drunk and or sober!! I hardly drink but still....

  • Rock and roll in stereo,Thats what the Moodies do,Theres not a day goes by that i dont listen to the Moodies,LIVE,LOVE,and LAUGH

  • Thumbs up if youre here because of Pirates of Silicon Valley!

  • I like the song overall but 1:45-4:15 is 2mins and 20secs of subtle passion. v.v I have to do a country vocal as I sing along. So bloody benevolent.

  • Chrissie644 I'm so happy!! I came across your video a few months ago, and wanted to post something but I was sort of a newbie (even though I'm an oldie), hence, I hesitated. Now that I'm more confident, I'll say this, "you're a good girl to post this great song (I'm assuming you're female!)" Many of us who lost friends in Vietnam, appreciate it a lot; sad but true!! Thank you!

  • Chrissie644 I'm so happy!! I came across your video a few months ago, and wanted to post something but I was sort of a newbie (even though I'm an oldie), hence, I hesitated. • 16sag7 When I first read your comment a couple of months ago; I realized, how many of us experience this! Just so sad but beautiful! Especially since I'm from the era of the Vietnam War.

  • Who, at some point in their life, was not looking for someone to change my life, or looking for a miracle in their life? When you put into beautiful music what everyone, at some time, has felt but not necessarily thought about you have, well, you have the Moody Blues.

  • it is just so beautiful... so are you :)

  • a very important song- just as important now as it was then.

  • Som do Caralho!

  • 4 people didnt get an answer......

  • @monkwithfunk Right on.

  • youtube nees to get rid of vevo and it frigging commericals...dumbasses !

  • @RaisingWar Vevo is what gives Youtube most of its funding, so no.

  • @RaisingWar The ruin many video, that's for sure. It there anything else beside Youtube to see videos?

  • @pigjubby ...yeah try to google the songs you want...sometimes it works and sometimes not...sometimes it will even bring you back to you tube..just a suggestion...i have downloaded some off google...their player system seems to work better

  • @RaisingWar amen to that. i will not watch a vid with an ad stuck onto the front of it, and no one else should either.

  • F A N T A S T I C !!

  • OHHHHHWWWWW dit liedje maakt zoveel bij me los........teveel herinneringen.

  • was it the song ... or the LSD?

  • I'm looking for someone to change my life.

I'm looking for a miracle in my life.

And if you could see what it's done to me

To lose the the love I knew

    Could safely lead me to

The land that I once knew.

To learn as we grow old

    The secrets of our souls.

  • Listening to the Moody Blues in the sixties when I was very young, was like undertaking a sacred quest...I never tire of their creativity and, they were just so unique and ohso special...love em forever...

  • Memorable but never forgettable???

  • I can't find my original posting about the Moody Blues, but you are persistent. I can't read or write about the war. I go insane. I can't listen to youtube because so much violence has been posted on there by the war porn people.

I mentioned that I was in a fire fight. I only remember the first three to five minutes. Then a blank then firing from another position. Still with my cheap little Sony with a single hearing aid type headphone. I was in a tower hit by a B40 rocket.

  • @Mazzystar1212 the most popular videos are fight videos and police brutality videos but the moody blues can catch up

  • The lyrics break my heart; it's the greatest song ever written! I remember the mid 60s in Kathmandu where I met those who had to go to Vietnam.

  • mei 1970 10 weken met als hoogste op 1 heerlijk nummer

  • I cast my vote to induct The Moody Blues into the rock and roll hall of fame.

They are as good or better than some in there now

  • @2500grit yeah, they are better than Abba and Madonna, for sure

  • the best

  • Fantastic Band - no question about that

  • “And when you stop and think about it you won’t believe it’s true that all the love you’ve been giving has all been meant for you.” These lyrics changed me forever. I was driving down the freeway in Chino California at 2:00AM when the sleeper was awakened to the true meaning of love. The drive must have put me in a receptive state of mind. It was at this moment I learned the meaning of the love of self and the love of others from these lyrics. All hate was released from me at the very moment.
