I'm not a huge fan of Wal-Mart but I have worked closely with them and have been in some of the factories in Asia, who manufacture for WalMart, and I can tell you that WalMart HAS raised the standards of many a Chinese worker. I still don't know if this is a good thing though, as we're all going to be working for China soon.
IS a cashier supposed to make the same as a doctor? You dont even need a G.E.D. to be a cashier. Get an education if you want a good job and want to make more money. Jobs that you dont need an education for. i use to work as a walmart cashier, and i hated it people say most jobs suck but i was getting paid only $9.16 ($1 extra since night shift), now that doesnt seem so bad to be a acashier and thats what i thought but i ended up doing everyone elses job (CSM, CSS, stock etc). i went to the manager about this and told them how the CSS's sit on their ass and tell me to do thier shit and he said well in the contract it says "be willing to work outside your position as a cashier". DON'T WORK THERE

I work at Wal-Mart and I don't think this is very funny. In a failing economy, I have a full-time job that pays $12.50 an hour. I did have to work my way up from part time, but I started out as a cashier and am now a supervisor. I know it sounds cliche, but Wal-Mart really does give a lot to it's communities... This is a poor way to thank them.

Yes you should, a lot of people don'e even make it to the interview process. You're pretty much hired. And please remember part time is anything less than 40 hours a week. I usually have about 36 hours a week. And they do pay overtime, though they don't like it(I got about 5 hrs o/t on my next paycheck making it almost $800 for two weeks)

I don't think it's the best job, just better than my last. I now get health insurance, sick leave, have a 401k, and work less hours and earn more money than I did at SCHLOTZSKY'S deli. And the health insurance is great too, it took my $13,000 hospital bill down to $300.

When I play poker online I make about 50 cents an hour. It only takes me about 41 hours to pay for my internet service and electricity. After that I'm raking in the bucks! :D If only I could make money playing video games. I'm better at them than poker.

Did any of you know that over here in the UK Wal-Mart has bought over the uk supermarket company ASDA. And there be ALOT of ASDAs here. Now that Wal_mart bought them out theres more popping up all over the place.
Theres one planned to be built here in my home town next year O_O
Theres only 10,000 people here and an ASDA just 7 miles away. Not counting the many other supermarket franchises.
Be prepared for the other supermarket franchises to close up shop soon....as well as the ASDA 7 miles away. They'll probably replace it with a brand new one across the street, leaving the old one an empty eyesore for years to come.

Yes you should, a lot of people don'e even make it to the interview process. You're pretty much hired. And please remember part time is anything less than 40 hours a week. I usually have about 36 hours a week. And they do pay overtime, though they don't like it(I got about 5 hrs o/t on my next paycheck making it almost $800 for two weeks)

I don't think it's the best job, just better than my last. I now get health insurance, sick leave, have a 401k, and work less hours and earn more money than I did at SCHLOTZSKY'S deli. And the health insurance is great too, it took my $13,000 hospital bill down to $300.

Did any of you know that over here in the UK Wal-Mart has bought over the uk supermarket company ASDA. And there be ALOT of ASDAs here. Now that Wal_mart bought them out theres more popping up all over the place.
Theres one planned to be built here in my home town next year O_O
Theres only 10,000 people here and an ASDA just 7 miles away. Not counting the many other supermarket franchises.
