The whole song in refrencing the bible. The hair is from the story of Samson. The woman bathing on the roof is the widow of Bathsheba.

Absolutely love this song. Never really liked "The True Masters" version (Cohen). Never realised there were over 200 Cover Versions as well. Anyone interested in Spanish should check ou the Il DIvo Cover pretty good.
