  • I hope you spent the $700 going to the hospital to make sure you didn't have anything living in your body after this.

  • Nice videos watched all 20 and was entertained through out!,good job!

  • Simply amazing. You should have brought more essentials, including food. It would have been more enjoyable. Thoroughly enjoyed all 20 videos. Well done. Part 2 please.

  • I actually came here for Java tutorials :D

  • I would've liked to see him choke down that bacon cheeseburger

  • VOTE FOR AN AFTERMATH! THUMBS UP if you AGREE!

  • great series. would like too see how you feel about the experience 2 years later

  • Loved this, you did great.

  • I watched it 1.5 hours straight and I have to say this is much better than these survival series' on tv. This is real !

  • me too i vote fot an aftermath video.

  • For what it's worth, I think what you did was pretty damn impressive. For that kind of situation to last a week, I would need:

Knife, Flint, twine, machete, small tin can, canteen of water, 9x12' clear plastic tarp, soap, compass, and a blanket.

Frankly, I probably wouldn't have done it without having at least a few rations and a sleeping bag.

Anyway, maybe instead of a survival video you can do a little camping with friends reminiscent video.

  • "Ewww whats that, a..a...a HEAD!!!" (I wish)

  • @MrJonnyboy36 lol followed by "hey boy, what say you just drop those pants"

  • @mryellow123 Nice :O)

  • the way you handled the situations and kept on trucking was actually pretty inspiring

  • I already watched all of these videos the same day they were released 2 years ago

I still think he did a great job

  • This guy is lunatic, but much better than Christopher McCandless (Into the Wild).

  • LOL "3 hours"

  • There are "survivalists" who couldn't have done what you did. So take heart at that.

One book to start with that teaches pretty reliable methods is Tom Brown's Field Guide to Wilderness Survival. He also runs classes in New Jersey. I started my survival training with him & went on to teach it myself.

Whatever you do, DON'T STOP TRYING and don't stop learning! I think you just might have what it takes to go all the way with this stuff.

  • @skecanj This.

  • See episode 3 for a lot of my comments but...

Don't let this one foray be "enough" for you. You picked a truly difficult way to start learning wilderness survival - without much knowledge, without a teacher, and going headfirst into a full survival situation. Few people could handle that mentally, much less physically.

Now, back off and start learning from books, videos, even courses. Take it easy on yourself and learn one aspect at a time.

  • Dam, cliffhanger. You really have to make a follow up video on this. I think you did a great job for what you had out there. I'm glad to hear you made it out okay. You had successes, failures, highs and lows. You did a great job of talking about what you missed in civilization. Did you ever get that double cheeseburger? I'm sure it tasted great. Anyway, thanks for the entertainment. It was nice to see an amateur try something like this. You lasted more than a week so I gotta give you some props.

  • "Ewww whats that? Oh dead animal..." 2:18

  • bucky.. you so mean

  • what happened after this?? omg !! there's no video for the greatest part..

  • JUST WANTED TO SAY HI,IVE WATCHED YOUR VIDS FROM START TO FINAL I LIVE IN NORTHERN ONTARIO CANADA,WEVE GOT THE HEIGHT OF WILDERNESS,AND I HIKE ALL THE TIME MAY I SAY YOU MAKE LES STROUD LOOK LIKE THE ASSHOLE HE IS,YOU DID GREAT,I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE SEEN SECOND TO SECOND TO DETERMINE TRUE VALIDITY TO YOUR EXPERIENCE,BUT I TAKE YOUR JOHN HANCOCK AT FACE VALUE,IN OTHER WORDS YA EARN YOUR MERRIT BADGE,BUT WORD OF ADVICE YA GOT LUCKY DONT FUCK WITH THE BUSH,UNLESS ITS BETWEEN MAMA SUNS LEGS LOL

  • now i wanna see bucky into the wood lol

  • How long did he last?

  • Very impressed. Very gutsy. With equipment and some skill you would have done just fine for that time of year. One thing about mistakes is that you learn A LOT from them. THANK YOU.

  • This guy is a beast

  • LOL he entered in that house with noone inside?

  • @xXxDiukexXx Learn to listen...

  • i am SO DOING THIS with a cell phone and a friend and a dad :P

  • This Guy has so many balls.

  • aftermath vidoe please

  • I vote for an aftermath video

  • Great show. But i really want to see what the aftermath of the bet and what your buddy ended up doing.. Please make it so we can see what happened. (Hope theres not a pack of coyote's ready to kill me) lol

  • check out the difference between "city and wilderness" in ancient hebrew...

  • awesome serious!!! watched the whole thing in one day!!!

  • I love it when you say come on bessy

  • bravo, but suggestion to all the viewers, if you've learned that you don't go into the wilderness alone without having experience first, then I'd say you've done a good job with these videos

  • you could have DIED, lost in those woods. so glad you made it back out to safety.

  • This is the first time Bucky has ever let me down... and awesome series... but then no freaking follow up video.. give us some more bucky!!!!

  • The best survival video ever! without a camera man to supply you food and water, thats badass.

  • A true bad ass.

  • I just watched all the episodes and I have to say I was really impressed. This is the greatest thing I've ever watched on all of youtube and beats any survival show I've ever seen on TV. Respect!

  • respect

  • heyy nice video did u do this for a project or something??

  • Hey do one more video, tell us what was the good and bad through out this survival time, what u like and hate, the easy and hardest part , what would u have done if u had not find those houses , say within 2 more hours.

  • Bestttt seriiiiiiesssss keep makin videos!!!

  • I for one am inspired and very impressed with you Gerrard. I have logged hundreds of hours in the woods but always had a truck nearby full of camping gear, food, fishing pole and firearms. ext. I also didn't hear you once say anything about being spooked at night. Great attitude, awesome job filming. Hey; all I can say is "Respect".....

  • f'n epic!!!! Great vids dude... I hope to see an aftermath vid!

  • totally awesome videos man, I've always wanted to plan for something like this too, i've read the Hatchet too but you just werent as lucky as the kid cause he found his plane loaded with food in the middle of the forest, anyway watching you catch crayfish and chipmunk was cool, just proves you can feast out in the wild

  • Hey, when is the second season coming out? Let me know :P

  • He said he'll never do this again at the end.

  • @Salien1999 Yeah, it was supposed to be a joke :\ Looks like I failed

  • good stuff man, so what did you buy?

  • You are a god damn fucking legend

  • @pheel33 best comment !

  • Really good and interesting vids man! Well done! Thoroughly enjoyed it!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • yeah man you really should post a post adventure video and talk about it now that your thoughts aren't biased by hunger and fatigue. Kind of talk about your feelings on the whole thing and have your friend talk about everything because I am sure he watched the video. but all in all great series man. I loved it.

  • Man you gotta return to the wilderness someday, but with proper supplies. This reminds me of a book I read called Hatchet.; there's also a book in the series called Brian's Return and that's what you have to do.

  • heh.. i thought you lasted 20 days being episode 20.. lol

  • i bet the first thing your going to with those $800 is buy yourself like a tablet full of food just for you.

  • Just finished the whole thing, i got to say. Awesome. Definetly gave me some pointers and tips. 5/5

  • nice job man, kudos to u. u survived by urself for 8 days, and you got $800 extra dollars for that.....i wish i could be you

  • Why would he have been dehydrated. What hydrates you more than water.

  • You can not eat for about a month. He also ate a bunch of crayfish and a chimpmunk.

  • yeah you obviously havent lived away from home ever

  • Clandestine meth lab.......ohhhhhh you are so dead. LOL ! * 8 days not much education you did fairly well. Pat on the back

  • dude you are good at surviving;D

  • 800 bucks....

    wow

  • With some knowledge, you could do this again if you wanted -- and live much better.

Tools? Think of how the Indians lived. Made things out of rocks. Learning how to make arrowheads is a really cool thing. Make what amounts to a big arrowhead and you have a knife.

Well done -- you will never be the same. Someone once told me that only people with a spiritual connection to the wilderness will survive long-term out in the woods. There is a lot -- a whole lot -- in that subject...

  • Flint knapping is perhaps one of the more difficult skills to learn let alone master in the wilderness. Many places have very few adequate rocks and even when you can correctly identify the rocks the skill required to bash two of them together and create sharp edges rather than destroying them both entirely is ridiculous.

If you're interested in pursuing this kind of thing yourself skecanj you should check out Boulder Outdoor Survival School. It will change your life.

  • @RSinton Thanks, but I already learned how to flint knap at Tom Brown's school

  • Can you at least do an aftermath video?

    You home...with the money, idk.

  • yeah, left us hanging. Was hoping there would be an aftermath video also. Boo

  • This is awsome

  • W00T $800 dollers to the survivor.

  • There needs to be a followup video to this. Did you get the money? Your thoughts now that its all over? Come on don't keep us hanging.

  • your hat rocks

  • Really incredible, that you, or you 2 wanted to do this...i think this show or however do you name it, kicks ass.

I myself would like to do something like this myself...but not like alone...but with another person...so i wouldn't get bored, and probably wont get money for it.

But respect to you, who was willing to do such kind of thing. Really great series.

  • i learned that your a terrible survivalist

  • And everyone knows that your way better right. Your arrogants tells me that you've never attempted survival.

  • Great series!! I lasted 7 days on polihua beach in Hawaii, but i took alot more stuff like a tent, fishing gear, cranola bars, and soap. it was still very tough! nice job Congrats!

  • If you freeze this movie, episode 20, at 3:17 and compare it with episode 2, at 3:14, it really seems like he has gained weight over the 8 days...

How does he do that? Did he find a double-cheeseburger tree he didn't tell us about?

    Fun series to watch, anyway.

  • Maybe that's the beard that creates this illusion

  • "seems like he has gained weight over the 8 days..."

this video is streched horizontally you will see it by black bar on top and bottom of it. he didn't' change much.. he didn't gained weight for sure :P

  • Awesome series, loved to watch the whole thing!

  • Excellent! This must have been the greatest adventure of your life.

Do you still thing that this was the most stupid idea?

  • wow, truly great series! 5/5

wish i could do as well as you, but i fear i may have been out on about day 5 ;)

  • u r so brave :)

i like what u ve done ! and i dun think it is stupid :)

if i were u... i will not survive a day in forest :D

  • i would its easy! u wouldnt have to do anything in one day!

  • I think everyone who watched this series diligently deserves to see a better conclusion. Even if you record it today, I think that you two need to make a brief video that wraps this thing up. This is the final video, but it is not an ending. Real or not, this was such a great series and needs an ending.

  • Here are some questions that need to be answered. Did Bucky pay you? How much did he pay? Nobody watching thinks you actually stayed in the wilderness for eight days. So how about what really happened?

  • :D Nice olmost better than Ultimate survival! :D

  • This is actually very impressive. I probably couldn't last even 1 day because I'd just get too bored and end up walking out lol.

    Enjoyed the whole series! 5*

  • Great series. I totally loved it. You should advertise this a little bit, I'm sure it would get a lot more attention as it was pretty interesting for me to watch it through.

  • haha good job, dude

  • For someone who never was in a situation like this before you did a great job! Outstanding! I only wish y'all would have filmed you being picked up by Buckey, getting the money and the cheeseburger, that would have been the perfect ending, but nice work guys! 5 (*****)

  • simply amazing. rule in wildness number one: never lost your stuff.

  • awesome series bucky should double what the bet was, also it would have been sweet for a video of bucky and your first meal

  • the best vid!!!!

  • This was a cool series of videos. Congratulations for making it that long for some one that had no experience at all on surviving in the wild. I thing you could do it again for longer period of time with what you learned and a little more preparation. this series need a better ending. make one more video please..

    ;-)

  • beard looks awesome

  • Skills over gear.

  • wow, awesome vids, would have liked to see buckys reaction though, and his first meal :/

  • If he didn't lose the flint he would have lasted way longer. I want to know if he got the money and see bucky's reaction too!!!

  • No it's not! Bucky actually gave him $1000 because he felt sorry for him, and he spent it on a new computer so he could sit and watch this fake show and laugh! yeah, fake :)

  • Fake my ass, this is for real man.

  • you have a fake ass? really? That's just....weird!

  • I KNOW! it's so weird sitting down and shit...yea :P

  • Did you get paid? 'Cause I'll do that for money...

  • so thats it? we dont see buckys reaction? we dont see him get the money? the drive home? did he eat alot when he got home? i feel like i got cliff hanged here. well anyways good job guys on the video series

  • did you make that up?

  • a family of cannibals in the house.

  • lol " i just walked from this way to that way "

  • Do you now have a more positive outlook on life after doing this experience? also the sun rises in the east and sets in the west so you can tell direction just by using that :P

  • This series kicked the reality tv's version's ass. Good job. Was this just sposed to be like a staged movie, or did Bucky actually pay you?

  • Thanks for FINALLY posting the last one.

  • I saw all the episodes and it was pretty alright, until the last episode (this one) he should had recorded when he got there and when he ate the cheese burger and when he got paid!

    Anyways not that bad. :=)

  • *When he got there = when Bucky went to pick him up!

    Sorry!

  • we waited all that time for this?

  • what do u mean not worth the money? what money?

  • He got paid $100 a day to survive in the wood.

  • where r u hiking at?

  • The survival rules of thumb for an average person are; 1 day without shelter, 1 week without water, and 1 month without food. The shelter rule, of coarse, is graded on a curve for climate. This guy had no compass, did not know how to use his flint properly, had no plan for a rescue party, twisted his ankle (which has contributed to death in other cases), was lost, kept losing his stuff, and had no survival skills other than collecting crawfish. Statiscally speaking, he should be dead.

  • he did have a compass fyi..

  • lolz it was just his local woods

  • lol yeah

  • w00t 800 easy dollars!!!!!

  • took 2 weeks to upload 4 mins GG

  • lol great point

  • well i thought its shit

  • Kind of anticlimactic, but congrats on the $800. To be honest, it seemed like throughout the whole series you had the attitude of "well, this isn't so bad" and you were just basically camping. As soon as you got lost, though, that's when you started saying how stupid the whole idea is.

  • finally the last episode yea! well done!

  • $800!

  • "Totally stupid" lol highlight of my day

  • >_> Trying to be Bear Grills?

  • It's here!

  • Way Hey ! at last =D well done man

  • FINALLY

  • awesome

  • Woo, i've been wanting to see this for a while =D

i want to see the money being handed over!

    =P

  • its fanilly come thanks bucky

  • Yay its finally here xD!

  • i was wondering about the show XD awesome

  • Awesome

  • OMG!

  • thanks bucky and thanks gerard for sharing.

    was pretty cool!

  • Should have taped his first meal back in civilization.

    Would have been funny.

  • they did, in the first episode

  • ye but after he survived he didnt

  • Oh wait u meant when he gets back, sorry nevermind

  • Hold up! I have watched the entire series. I have enjoyed laughing and commenting. But I need to know if Bucky is going to pay up. Anyone else feel a little cheated?

  • yeah, he should put a ideo when buky picked him up

  • yAY!!

  • Good Stuff. There really does need to be 1 more episode.

  • I think one more episode will be kool to end this series.

    PusherHun

  • this was such a good show !! better than tv. loved it !!!!

  • Finally the last episode! Cool, but you guys should have filmed his first real meal after he got back.

  • Finally!!!!!!!!!!

  • Boo! I waited a week for that! lol sucks.

  • 7th :D
