I'm 32 yrs old, and my generation barely can handle this, I can only imagine those born in the 90's...cant even hear this!!!! this track is crazy dope!!
@jdubexpert 'Crazy dope' is 'good' right? I'm 46 and was 8 or 9 years when this stuff came out and thankfully discovered it in my 20s. If people give it a chance they'll get it. It's great music - what's not to like? :-)
Will racist Cheryl Cole's conviction for assulting the poor black toilet attendant stop her from getting a green card ? is the US Govt law abidding and blind??
A spokesman for Polydor records has meanwhile stated that the conviction will not affect Cheryl's position
Cheryl Cole is a convicted criminal, so why is she allowed ?
One of my all time favs from Q. The voices of Leon, Minnie and Al are a perfect blend of harmony and the lyrics are haunting. (If I ever lose this heaven, I'll never be the same), The music is so melodic. It is soothing to my heart and soul every time I hear it. All these yrs later and it still leaves me feeling out there in my own place. When you think about it the lost of love can change the course of your life and you may never be the same. RIP Minnie, we miss you & still love you.
@DaddySweet100 I agree completely, it's so melodic and soothing... I lost my heaven 6 years ago, but when I hear these voices it's like heaven isn't lost after all...
@277sherey I'm sorry to hear that for you. There is nothing like a true Love. I once had one, but I f&*^%$ it up. The sad thing "sometimes" about love is this: Some people never see love when it comes their way, they only see it after it passes them by. I know, I've been there on both sides of that story. Peace to you 277sherey. I hope that you have the pleasure of a true love again. There is nothing else like it.
I long for the good old days when music was music and you had to be able to sing with all the enhancements singers have now. Everyone didn't sound alike you could distinguish one entertainer from another. Now its just pitiful that people get paid for a lot of bull s_ _ _ ! but then some people will fall for anything.
I remember this LP " Body Heat" like it was yesterday. I owned three of them because I wore them out. Played it till it turned white. When it got real bad my wife would go out and buy me a new one. LeChgeryl I still love you...
Do you have to ask? lol Nobody else sounds like that on the bass. Yes, it is the one and only Chuck Rainey. He played on a lot of Q's stuff back then.
i thought the dude was whay ahead as far as music goes, but THIs ALBULM was WELL WAY AHEAD what everyone was doing ast the time i mean for real.. the mid-late 70's very few people was on this kind of music unless you went overseas this is a classic, but the AWB version wasnt no joke eithier-says uzipolo king of decatur
Just look and the line up of artist on this one song, ALL LEGENDS. And if you really, I MEAN REALLY want to hear the depths of "Q" listen to the song - Tell Me A Bedtime Story Now.
But you have to REALLY REALLY LISTEN TO IT. One pointer for you are the handclaps.
Leon Ware has never gotten his props,as nola2 states the songs he wrote for M Gaye, and others. Lest we forget his Rockin You Eternally an r&b old skool classic for sure.
@push555push The music will die of thirst waiting for another Minnie Riperton. She's a proud member of a bygone era that we'll never see again in our lifetime. I'm just glad I was there to appreciate this music and musicians like Minnie and Quincy when they were in their prime. The memories, wow, I just don't know how to explain it. This music takes me back to a place and time that I will never ever forget.
@push555push Yeah we lost that heaven-ly angel.....You are so right. I am tired of all the lick me up and down songs and bumpin' and grindin'. I remember when songs made you imagine what love was lke, not tell you about it and make you sick hearing about it!
If you ever get a chance check out the song Midnight Soul Patrol by Quincy, the Album is the I heard that album, don't think it's on CD, it has 3 of greatest bass players, Stanley Clarke, Alphonse Johnson, and Ron Carter. You have great taste in music keep it up young man. Also check out Coke Escovedo.
That and Average White Band is an awesome group, but yeah I understand when you know a song from its original its hard to like a cover of it so I understand but I love this song.
yeah this is one of the smoothest songs not only with Quincy and Minnie but Leon Ware and Al Jarreau, the fact that Leon Ware wrote Marvin Gaye's I Want You album so thats all I got to say, but I wish Marvin and Minnie did a song together I don't think did though
