  • Why is this a separate App? This should be a feature in Google Maps.

This also uses an older version of Google Maps. Lot of locations visible on Maps are not visible on My Tracks. Cached Maps are downloaded again in My Tracks. Why?

Please unify Maps, Navigation & My Tracks... This app deserves more love from Google.

  • I've been using MyTracks since last spring, 2010. I live this app above & beyond all the others. Thanks for the great training video from Boulder

  • Wow This Application is so awesome.

  • i'd like to enter sex as activity. Hope there it no track limit..

  • I love google since when It was just a simple search motor !

  • That's why I love Google!

  • does it consume data?

  • ottimo programma, inoltre è gratis! lo consiglio

  • HaHAha new G1

  • This has probably already been mentioned, but just in case. Please add the capability to log weather conditions i.e. temperature, humidity, and wind speed.

  • I Like it. But it looks not so nice.

Needs some more features an will me perfect. Like Bluetooth Heartbet sensor ;)

  • @FoVITIS The current version I have says it has the capability to read a sensor for Polar or Zephyr heartbeat monitors.

  • costs at all?

  • Is there a similar App to use for the iPhone?

  • @dcareyHQvideos 'live run' tho i use android :P

  • @dcareyHQvideos 'live run' is for iPhone...i use android tho

  • Great video very informative. Just plotted a mountain bike track yesterday using "my tracks" android app on a budget smartphone "vodaphone 845" model on prepay. Data connection not required to record a course or track, just turn your phones gps receiver on. Worked well, phone was in plastic bag inside a camelback type backpack in steep forested terrain. Very easy to use. You can use your wireless connection once home to see a map against plot or upload it to google maps google earth.

  • Battery drainnnnnnnnn

  • @AZLAN210396

    hardly uses ur battery

  • @AZLAN210396

hardly uses ur battery. i tested it

  • @Taiko000 uses GpS all the time, what phone do u use?

  • @AZLAN210396

    Lg gt540

of course it uses gps all the time but the app doesnt seem to eat up much cpu. I usually switch off the display and let it run in the background so it doesnt drain too much battery.

  • JEESE HES RLY FAST!

  • How does he run that fast? I've never seen anything like it...

  • I has a droids BOBOB

  • do i need mobile internet access for this to work ?

  • 방금 이걸 켜고 자전거를 타고 도봉구에서 의정부까지 다녀 왔는데 너무 정확해서 놀라울 뿐입니다.

  • Can you theoretically have it on the wholemtime and will show you just how much you've travelled all the time?

  • cool =D

  • excellent program I use it alot!

  • Excellent Application.....

  • i use this a lot and then transfer the kml to google

  • @BannyBunch does google maps give you current gps coordinates also? I'd love to not have to buy a garmin and just use my paper topo maps.

  • @DAB0690 if your on data or 3g the map is free...online the nexus ones gps is very accurate.... i dont know if you could port your map to mytrack... how ever there another one called orux map or andnav which can make customized maps

  • Awesome. I wish I had this two years ago.

  • This is what I'm looking for. :)

  • Looks a bit like Sportstracker on S60 or ECoach on Maemo. So nothing really innovative.

  • shit hes fast

  • 2:13 - 46.06 Km in 1 hour 43 minutes? That would be a new Marathon World Record. LOL

  • Name of the sheet: My Track -cycling.

  • GOOD♪o(・∇・o)

  • Check out starting at about 1:36 as he runs down the hill. I think I see Sasquatch at the top of the hill! If only we could get the GPS location, we could locate a real Bigfoot!

  • @avfbrian haha! Nice one Brian. I wonder if Bigfoot will ever have one of these. He'd have a hellova following with friends and twitdroid.

  • @avfbrian Haha yeah you're right...

  • at 2:16 it says one of his max speeds was 459.32!

  • he probably fell...

  • this is obviously not accurate at all cause if you look at his scores, there all in the 30's at like the top speed section! Like, was he on an electric scooter, or what? gay....

  • GOOGLE is the best guys!

  • it's not kid ;) I already tested it on my g1 with android

  • cool

  • 2:14 i'm getting faster! sweet!! hahaha

  • I though it would work in backround.

I have Motion track on iPhone I use a couple of times, but it doesn't work on backround and uses a lot o batery.

  • you should be outside you need a tan

  • You need to re assess your approach to pedophiles on here. It's about to blow up in your face since some are now selling childporn online with kids they find on youtube.

  • interesting

  • até minha vó tem um celular igual esse :D

  • no one on earth can run 20mph the fastest person is like 18.5mphs

  • u r wrong, Tim Montgomery ran 36,8 kph (=22,8mph), besides, the chart may content biking data

  • ... and 20 kilometers per hour is only 12.42 mph, so what's your point?

  • MPH - im not a european, im a dumass american

  • I'd be worried about dropping my G1

  • you can bring a small bag with you

  • okey

  • friends

  • "Look, I'm going faster. Sweet!" ;D

  • Hello, Boulder Colorado, I miss you!

  • So according to 2:11 (pause it) he was traveling 459 km/h on a bike. Sounds like a bug to me.

  • Oh yeah. :/

  • hahaha

  • How does the accuracy compare to to that of a Garmin Edge 705? How much flexibility is there in interrogating the data afterward? I'd like to have something as good or (preferably) better than Garmin's Training Center.

  • oh, what a jerk is that? dude, do you like yourself at 0:59

  • awesome, I am waiting to Apple to allow this! (backgound apps)!

  • I wish this included a heart rate monitor as well.

  • This is really lame when compared with Nokia's Sports Tracker. Not to mention the choice of phones that you can use it with, each being technology marvels compared to the G1 (Gaffe 1)

  • i need an android phone!

  • pretty cool!!! please please google, develop an application for the AppStore, also : ) : ) : )

  • Gone are the days of leaving a fecal hiking track! While useful, they are incredibly harmful to the surrounding ecosystem.

  • It is hard to pick just one prettiest place....BUT I was fortunate enough to see the Nasrid Palace in the Al Hambra AT NIGHT. They are SPECTACULAR at night and since the rest of the Al Hambra is closed, there are no large crowds to deal with....

  • Minutes to wait for a GPS signal? Ugh. Google needed to think this one through before they told us... Luckly I don't have the G1 phone so I wouldn't have to deal with the exspenes...

  • buddy runner is way less complicated...awesome...the only thing this has better is the elevation..i have not seen that in br..however you dont need to do lots of steps to manage your stats.

  • Please release a version for Windows mobile devices !!!!!!

G1 is to expensive in germany

    Thanks so much

  • I got one in the netherlands, it wasent too expensive

  • Pretty damn cool! Why do I love everything Google? Awesome stuff.

  • I really don't think that phone would maintain the signal if it bounced around in your shorts pocket. I think you would have to run around holding out your android face up in front of you.

  • the ONLY problem with all that, is that the ONLY android running phone is ONLY available in USA....wake up google, your platform will be DOA if you can't interest developers to develop for it, and for that you need to reach a critical mass of users.

  • Not only the US, its also available now in UK, Australia, Singapore and Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the Czech Republic in early 2009.

  • What, Canada doesn't make the cut?? :(

  • No Gphone in Soviet Canuckistan. Thank Rogers for that.

  • OK, i'll expect to see this app available on the iTunes App Store very soon, since the iPhone is much more popular and a much better product.

  • except the iphone is not a much better product then the g1

  • Just for android? and for iphones?

  • dude, jeff is a superstar! haha

    SWEET!

  • Great for hiking. I wonder if I could use it to retrace my steps back to my car. Never get lost again.

  • I'd try it but you just know it would kill the battery life in 30mins

  • doubt google reads this but anywho...

make street maps of iceland !

  • wow, thats awesome. but whats that phone?

  • The T-Mobile G1

  • absolutely right !

  • apple sucks..... its not crappy i like mine.

  • Wow, that was so ignorant.

  • hi jack!

  • i think its Jeff

  • Hi,

why can not download MyTracks from the market? My G1 is connected to T-Mobile in Czech Republic.

  • I bet the battery would be dead on the G1 if you went on a walk of more than an hours duration :P

  • I read that it was more like 5 hours, which is longer battery life than my magellan triton on AA batteries.

  • Hmm... Google maps for mobile, Google Latitude... all good. But when is GPS track recording coming to Windows Mobile?

  • I don't run, but found this very interesting.

  • This sounds great. Especially the export to gpx format, which a lot of trail/running/cycling sites use.

Can you view a gpx track on your phone on google maps while cycling?

  • If I post the map on youtube will you take it down for some copy right problem? I'm sure the trail is copy righted by some map maker somewhere.

  • doubt it, since Google owns YouTube and Google Maps... so showing your use of their programs only serves their best interest... they only take things down when idiot corps force them to.

  • This was so cheesy lol

  • i always wondered how far i am running and how fast my pace is. since I have my phone with me most of the time, it would be great to be able put it to use and keep track of my running data conveniently.

  • cool!!

  • to bad the battery will be dead after 30 minutes, then you don't have a phone to call 911 for a rescue in the middle of nowhere

  • to bad i couldnt find it on the market

  • interesting applications they keep making :)

  • weeeeeeeee
