Exactly! It's all about the player. Many of my guitars aren't worth much more than the case they're carried in. I plug into the nearest available 1/4" jack and play for hours. No complaints yet.
most what i have now is squires and love em! traded my DREAM strat for a banjo the guitar i have everyone wants to buy is a freakin jb player that is great !crap , billy gibbons dont really care what he plays he just plays and i am the biggest fORMER fender snob in the world. i can sound just as bad on a fender as i do on a squier ;{
Exactly. I currently play a $150 yamaha I've had for 4 years. I just added some new pickups. And i've never played a nicer guitar. A $1000 Joe Satriani custom feels like crap compared to my little hunk of shit
i agree! my $120 squier is mutch better than loeds of this stuff like the ibanez custom and all that junk! cuz its got a clasic bleus sound that i love! and ive never played a better guitar espesially 4 bleus so dunt go out and waast your money on what u dont need!! get a cheep pecice of goodness instead! it could be the best choise u ever made
I disagree with some of these comments regarding cheap guitars. Firstly, most Ibanez guitars aren't really designed for the blues market. Secondly, a lot of a guitars tone comes from the wood the body is made from. I didn't buy a 1979 USA Strat made from solid ash so I could sound like someine with a $150 guitar made from basswood.
@puddleduck8051 The best guitar is the one that gives you the sound that you are looking for, the sound that identifies you. That´s why you need to try it first. Some people have to pay lots of money to get what they need, some don´t. Some spensive guitars were cheep before famous people began to use them.
get a squire standard strat if you can find one. The are just a little more than a squire but the only thing keeping it from being a regular strat is a set of texas specials. The neck is an authentic standard strat neck
Look at Xaviere Guitars from Guitar Fetish. If you're stuck up and want the Fender brand name on your headstock, it's not for you, but if you want a great guitar for the money, then that's what I recommend.
I actually think that Stevie mutes with his fretting hand more than palming as you are doing in the video. It is actually a little easier to control, I think you get a little cleaner sound. I used to palm like you, but started the other way and now it is easier than palming.
hey man cool....

If you can play you can make it sound good, but if you can play and you have a great guitar, you can make it sing!
Love my 79 as well. My 335 sounds great too and there is a huge difference between it and the epiphone version. The feel is amazing!
