  • hey man cool....

  • Sweet! (all the way around)

  • i have a fender jap strat but I love it

  • awesome !

  • what amp?

    nice lesson thanx

  • @frenzexperiment Fender Pro Junior

  • @johntuggle thank you...

  • I've got a guitar made from some tree, don't remember it's name, but that thing sounds bad even in the master's hands.

Now i've got Gibson Les Paul standrard 97' and this guitar realy singing even in my hands.

  • Thanks man very nice and slow demo for us jr SVR's!

  • is his guitar a yamaha pacifica 112v?? Anyone answer please

  • 1979 Fender American Standard Strat The heavy version.

  • have a 79 myself, so heavy..Love it.

  • It is a back breaker!

  • fender american strat

  • fuck that tone is amazing

  • its just middle neck and whatever tone settings hes got on his amp. I have the same settings. Just sayin.

And I do agree with you. That tone is pretty sick.

  • i have a SX custom made and it's china made. so i played it well and it sounds awesome :D

  • not surprised. Most of american products are made in china anyway.

  • i have a yamaha eg 112 :(

  • man!!!you guys below are so stuck on the name of the guitar. even the worst piece of crap guitar will sound good if the player can play.

  • Exactly! It's all about the player. Many of my guitars aren't worth much more than the case they're carried in. I plug into the nearest available 1/4" jack and play for hours. No complaints yet.

  • right on. never loose the blues!!!!

  • most what i have now is squires and love em! traded my DREAM strat for a banjo the guitar i have everyone wants to buy is a freakin jb player that is great !crap , billy gibbons dont really care what he plays he just plays and i am the biggest fORMER fender snob in the world. i can sound just as bad on a fender as i do on a squier ;{

  • keep the faith

  • Exactly. I currently play a $150 yamaha I've had for 4 years. I just added some new pickups. And i've never played a nicer guitar. A $1000 Joe Satriani custom feels like crap compared to my little hunk of shit

  • i agree! my $120 squier is mutch better than loeds of this stuff like the ibanez custom and all that junk! cuz its got a clasic bleus sound that i love! and ive never played a better guitar espesially 4 bleus so dunt go out and waast your money on what u dont need!! get a cheep pecice of goodness instead! it could be the best choise u ever made

    jack:)

  • I disagree with some of these comments regarding cheap guitars. Firstly, most Ibanez guitars aren't really designed for the blues market. Secondly, a lot of a guitars tone comes from the wood the body is made from. I didn't buy a 1979 USA Strat made from solid ash so I could sound like someine with a $150 guitar made from basswood.

  • If you can play you can make it sound good, but if you can play and you have a great guitar, you can make it sing!

Love my 79 as well. My 335 sounds great too and there is a huge difference between it and the epiphone version. The feel is amazing!

  • @puddleduck8051 The best guitar is the one that gives you the sound that you are looking for, the sound that identifies you. That´s why you need to try it first. Some people have to pay lots of money to get what they need, some don´t. Some spensive guitars were cheep before famous people began to use them.

  • get a squire standard strat if you can find one. The are just a little more than a squire but the only thing keeping it from being a regular strat is a set of texas specials. The neck is an authentic standard strat neck

  • good job man

  • awesome vid best so far on the technique side of things

  • very good touch..

    and the sound very blues..

    two thumbs up..

  • nice job dude, solid SRV lesson.

  • i dont have a real strat but im getting one so can i use a strat replica?. Its a cheap guitar

  • get a mexican made strat

  • just bought yesterday a american standard strat

  • That should be a great guitar for you.

  • what kind of pups do you have in that strat?

  • And i have Ibanez Tube Screamer the problem is my amp. It's a Laney i dont know. if its gonna work

  • I got a fender USA strat aswell! With texas special pickups:D

  • Look at Xaviere Guitars from Guitar Fetish. If you're stuck up and want the Fender brand name on your headstock, it's not for you, but if you want a great guitar for the money, then that's what I recommend.

  • im from the UK - if i buy a fender will i become an american ?

  • They are so integrated into our culture, you sure as hell should be if you got a strat.

Haha, fuck the green card, get a strat for registration : )

  • not bad..

a lil of satch was there...

  • Thank you for the tips.

  • gooood job

  • Nice lesson. What gear are you using?

  • 79 fender strat with texas specials, and a Fender Pro Jr. It's really a great amp.

    Thanks

  • ^ awesome sound you got there w/ the Strat & Fender Pro! Great lesson too

  • Thank you very much for this lesson!

  • I actually think that Stevie mutes with his fretting hand more than palming as you are doing in the video. It is actually a little easier to control, I think you get a little cleaner sound. I used to palm like you, but started the other way and now it is easier than palming.

  • excellent, thanks

  • best explanation of the rake. Go Johnny Go !

  • by far the best lesson vid ive ever seen here. thanks.

  • Thanks a lot man!

  • john wayne gacy plays the blues..

  • good stuff!!!!!!! thanks..

  • Very nice. Thanks.

  • Thanks for posting! very useful
