i have the entire album on cd. while i was in drivers education i forced everyone in the car to listen to this. everyone else had rap "music" that they wanted to listen to.
Just gorgeous. I'm always moved by this song. What talent. And yes I agree with DoofsterDan-this IS music. It make me happy to see that there are people out there with taste who love this song as much as I do.
Incredible! After 30 years I finally found this jewel from the past. A surreal blast from long ago that really has taken me back to those times. Thanks for a very good post!
I found out in Wikipedia that originally this was just a studio band--a collection of musicians collected to record. One of the singers was Glen Cambell, who traveled a lot with the early Beach Boys and had a lot of hits of his own in the 1970s. Fun to know...
I'm 6 years older than my sister and used to drop by occasionally. They would just be hanging out, having a drink or two and had the stereo going but strangely never heard their songs playing there. I met them and they were so low key it was like they were just your average person, no air, just fun guys. Life in those years were such a blur nothing seemed like big deal.
ultimate. this is real.. this is LOVE.

I'd double check who is singing: Boettcher used Glen Campbell and Bruce Johnston (Beach Boys) to voice his stuff.

@ karmices - Thanks so much, I would have loved to meet both Curt & Gary before their passing!

This CD and "The Blue Marble" are both great--Curt Boettcher worked with Gary Usher on both of them.

"But another time has come, another time has passed..."
I love this old song and still listen to it on occasion in a 1970s CD in my car! Did the group have any singer who eventually joined another band.

The Beach Boys used to hangout over at my sisters place here in the Central Coast of Calif and do a bit of partying. Ah yes, those were great times.

To bodie395: Lucky you! Do you remember them well or were you too young?

Playing their own records would of been a bit of a drag. They were getting away from the "job" for awhile to relax.
