Dean has it wrong, again. The problem is HE doesn't know history. For decades, Europe patted itself on the back for having such a "humanitarian" and "just" free immigration system. Now, they are a generation away from being overtaken by the Mohammedan hordes. Paris is 1/5 Mohammedan, Germany is going down, just like Greece, Portugal, Italy--all of them, because they can't control their own borders, language or culture--so they have lost their national identity and worse, their soul. It may feel good to be self righteous and indignant at the xenophobic racists who speak of a broken immigration system. The GW students will graduate, earn well and live in their gated communities, with cheap labor to clean their pools and do their landscaping. But the jokes on them. I am an American citizen and came to this country when I was 10 LEGALLY. There is a fundamental difference between legal immigrants of years ago that Dean talks about and illegal immigrants. Legal immigrants pay taxes, and pay their dues before choosing to become a citizen. Illegal immigrants do not pay taxes, but do partake in all the social programs, and send their money outside to their home countries. They do not become assimilated to the US. Apples and oranges.

Everybody pays sales tax, and everybody pays property tax in the form of rent. And the Government has the ITIN program so that illegals can pay income tax. If you think that most illegals get paid in cash under the table, you are wrong. Most work with a fake Social. According to the Social Sec. Adm. they recieve $7 billion from illegals

How convenient to leave out Gingrich's response, which was something along the lines of "while emotional and moving, it is factually incorrect", the truth is we've ALWAYS had regulation when it comes to immigration, thousands of people were turned down for citizenship when our ancestors were coming over, there was never a time where we would just "let people in"; Our current immigration laws are a joke, but Dean presented no practical solution.
