  • I do Pull on Mondays and Thursdays, Push on Tuesdays and Fridays, Abs every day, I run for 45 mins. non stop Wednesday and Saturday, and I've made some incredible gains. I think we're about the same bicep wise, but what do you do for forearms and your delts?

  • Push Pull. All push one day all pull the next day.

    Push = Chest, Tris, Sholders

    Pull = Back, and Bi's

    Do legs by themselves and abs everyday. One day rest and repeat.

    What you do is working the same muscle groups each day. Chest and back one day and Sholders and biceps the next day is doing a push pull on the same days twice. When you work chest you also work sholders and tris. You are not resting them at all.

    Try what I gave you and see your gains sky rocket.

    Yes @ the muscle group splits (chest, tris, shoulders/back, bis) since exercises often work out the same muscle groups (ex. Bench Press uses your tris a lot, etc.). The whole Chest-Tris/Back-Bis thing is good, I don't know why you went ahead and said Chest/Back.

    The one day rest is optional. Some people do this as a three day split since it's convenient when considering time.

    Please don't work your abs everyday!! *continued*

  • @MichaelDeLu Your abs DO respond better to slightly more volume, but you need to give them a break at some point. So no, abs once or twice a week with more reps than you would for other muscles (not drastically more).

    Anyways, just make sure you know the big three rules: Eat hard, Sleep hard, Lift Hard. Stay hydrated too.

  • @MichaelDeLu OK I just reread my post and you should to. What you stated is exactly what I was said. Your interpertation of what I posted is off.

    The workout is listed in my top part of my post. The second part of my post is what he is doing and why he should not do it. You will get 3 days rest on each muscle group if you do push on day one then pull on day 2 then legs on day 3 then rest day.

    I wrote it correctly you read it incorrectly.

  • @CASteel1 Oh true true sorry about that. What I said about abs stands though. Calves and abs do react better to a little more volume, but working them everyday is also overdoing it.

  • @CASteel1 You should never train any body part every day, even abs. Since they are still muscles and muscles need rest to grow.

  • @soysaucenwasabi - You can. If you are not using weights to work them you can. You don't want to blast them everyday but you can work them everyday. Your core is something that stabilizes your body and is worked daily anyway just by you running and jumping and doing what it is you do, if active. It is like your calves, they are muscles you work daily just by being active. So a little more won't hurt them at all.
