What an electrifying finish. I didn't think Johnson could possibly make up that gap in the last corner, but he deserves huge accolades for pulling off that move.
It's called the "old points system" for a REASON...over nascar's history there has been probally 30 "old points system" quite all damn cryin about "if the chase wasn't here" or "or the stupid chase" They all gotta follow all the same damn rules comes feb..so just quit cryin already the Chase has been here for 7 years goin on 8 and it isn't going any where anytime soon. 30 years from now all of you can say i seen history and be cheering him when he is the grand marshal for a race
@cpearson2009 I'm a Kevin Harvick fan and I agree with everybody to quit hating on Jimmie Johnson but I do have to disagree with you, he's not the greatest of all time. He's one of the greatest but not the greatest!
@cpearson2009 Cuz he doesn't have 7. Plain and simple. Earnhardt and Petty raced in an era where the Chase didn't even exist. Technically, by the points, if they would've never added the Chase to the Sprint Cup, Johnson would only have 2 and Jeff Gordon would have 6. He's not the greatest. My hero is Dale Earnhardt. There are way to many drivers out there to be labeled "the Greatest". Lets just put them in the category "Greatest of all time". Cant we agree on that, at least.
@MortifiedPenguin275 But back in his defense, plenty of NASCAR's greats have cheated as well. Richard Petty's team would put an ultra heavy helmet in his car while going through pre-race inspection so the total weight would pass NASCAR rules, then replace it with a regular race helmet after so Petty would have a car lighter than anyone else. Also, Darrel Waltrip I believe, used to fill his car chassis with buckshot, which he would scatter onto the track to make his car lighter.
Awesome finish!! 2 clean drivers going all out for a win. What a difference a few years makes. Now the 18 car and the FedEx car would put you in the wall in a situation like that. Take note you young race car drivers, that is how you race!

@KCity14Podolak How can you not call him the greatest when even Dale Earnhardt or even Richard Petty could win 5 straight championships?

Jimmie is a cheating motherfucker!!!

@dlwile33 Hey! That's not good sportsmanship! Besides, he won 5 NASCAR championships in a row.
MrRTrain61 1 year ago
@MrRTrain61 In your defense, he has.
In his defense, Jimmie Johnson did cheat quite a bit back in the day. AND had it not been for the total BS Chase, Jimmie would have 2 championships.

Booby was scheduled to run the Madagascar paint scheme, but due to Jason Leffler misses the race, Fed-Ex was moved over to Bobby's car.

I was pulling for Bobby to win that race, his season had been horrible up to that point, and a win would have made it all better.
