  • Now I'm hungry.

  • I wanna marry this man! So hot!

  • What kind of tortilla warmer is that????

  • These were great. We ended up adding a little Salsa with the potato ones for some added flavor but even without that everything was great.

  • "get some low fat cooking spray...aahh, just kidding, use butter" love his sense of humor

  • I should have listened to him. I now have tortillas on my mind constantly. Its been 2 months since I learned how to do this, from this video. and have gone through about 15kg's of flour almost exclusively making tortillas.

  • When he pulled out the store bought tortillas I was about to say, wrong tortillas and log out but then he said throw them in trash haha that's my boy

  • If you make homemade flour tortillas like this then anything you fill them ip will taste so good, this the secret to good Mexican food.It needs to be freshly made

  • WTF.....I might do this next week...shit looks good as heck

  • I'm eating breakfast tacos right now, ohh they are freaken awesome, his warning was right, you will crave them all the time

  • This is a cool vid, but if you want to MAKE MONEY COOKING. Call 877-229-9632

  • those tacos look so good. he should have his own cooking show.

  • GREAT BREAKFAST OR SOME WILL CALL IT BRUNCH TOU REALY KNOW HOW TO COOK

  • he is soo right... not knowing how to cook is like not knowing how to fuck. ive cooked most of his meals and i have my own menu at my house, everytime my gf/s eat any of my meals we work it off in bed. lesson to all of you the way into anyone's heart is thru their stomach and if you can cook youll get laid, the better the cooking the better the sex

  • @0010110100 def a virgin

  • Oh god why did I watch this again. Now I want breakfast tacos and I can't make them tonight *cries*

  • I love robert but robert you're a douche..ten minutes is what you gon spend making the god dam tortillas! you're better off buying tortillas and cooking the rest yourself. WE forgive you though because we know you're texan :)

  • trouble maker studios is his house

  • I made this and it tasted okay (quite bad actually)..Making the tortillas was a bitch and I screwed up the timings..any suggestions ?

  • Personally I think this is the way a cooking show should be done, with voice-over narration and all the little mundane actions edited out. It's so much more effective than watching some person faking being happy as they cook in front of the camera.

  • I just finished my tortillas with potato and eggs and they came out tasty!

  • I like the way his voice just walks you trough the video.. no homo!! hahahaha

  • I knew they were good as soon as he pulled the lard out.

  • Hi do you have that calorie info for this?

  • LOL this made sin city!

  • i have the DVD and i saw this and tried to put it on the computer and the DVD didnt allow me!!

  • Had it on my sin city limited edition dvd for a while. made it today, added little bits of chicken and paprika, was delicious. Making perfect tortillas is a lot harder than it looks... nice recipe,.

  • Robert Rodriguez has been kidnapped????!!!

  • is there anything this guy doesn't do? direction, production, orchestration, cooking, fucking, hat-wearing... need i say more?

  • Impressed!!

  • Si res mexicano siempre habra tortillas al dia en la tortilleria mas cercana

  • I made this today and it didn't take that long. I make my own pizzas and that's way harder. This recipe was amazing and the tortillas turned out excellent. I still need to perfect the skill of tortilla making but I'm seriously considering never buying store tortillas again.

  • Food looks yummy. So does he (^_^)

  • The tortillas are amazing...

  • Guerrero food brand sells UNBAKED flour tortillas, similar to what Robert has after rolling the dough, with some preservatives I'm sure, but they taste much fresher than the standard flour tortillas that are sold everywhere. You can find them at Mexican supermarkets, or maybe find where they sell them at from the Guerrero website. They really cut down on the work if you're looking for that fresh flour tortilla taste for a quick meal. Cooking the filling takes all the time I'm willing to wait.

  • Gotta find a wife that can do that, but i don't think god makes those.

  • holy crap...this reminds me of the migas at juan in a million...A-ma-zing

  • i can't stand flour tortillas. corn tortillas rock all the way. show me your grandmothers recipe for corn tortillas and you've got yourself a deal.

  • Yeah...Robert I'm a big fan but you're a douche bag. I'm not spending 45 fucking minutes to fix some god dam tacos you fool

  • Rodriguez is so god damn cool!

  • SORRY, BUT DIDNT ANYONE ELSE SEEM TO NOTICE HOW UNHEALTHY THIS MEAL IS????

GOD DAMN MR RODRIGUEZ YOUR GOING TO GIVE US A HEART ATTACK ASAP!

  • Did he mix his eggs with milk? How come he doesn't mention it?

  • I think I would have a heart attack if I ate these things. LoL

  • How is making scratch made tortillas easier than Puerco Pibil? Half those ingredients are near impossible to track down!

  • @johnedsel yea i remeber going on quiteee a journey and couldnt find 1 kind of seed at the end :\

  • only director who is a cook too!

  • Warning : do not every eat homemade tortillas like the ones he is showing you.

You will be unable to eat store bought crap ever again.

If you are simply too white to make a descent tortilla, go to a Mexican bakery for tortillas. If anyone in there speaks English you are in the wrong place, leave. These will be waaaaaaay better than grocery store tortillas but still not grandma grade.

  • @nsofast True. Once you go home made tortillas, you never go back. Or you go back very reluctantly. However, if you can't make a decent tortilla the answer is just to keep trying.

  • Comment removed

  • those tacos need a little bit of beans with chorizo and bacon ..

  • "Remember: not knowing how to cook is like not knowing how to fuck."

  • i could watch this all day...

  • Looks amazing !!!

  • just made this....Yes its definitely worth the effort !

  • Gotta have some bacon in there somewhere

  • Hola, que rico, para preparar unos buenos tacos es muy recomendable preparar las tortillas uno mismo, desde la masa y el hacerlas, es más laborioso pero la verdad saben más ricos que cuando son compradas, saludos. atte: recetas7

  • Really that is alot of work, especially for breakfest. He should just call them Robert Rodriguez's Stoner tacos, becuase you'd have to be pretty high to make you're own tortillas, peel, chop & fry all that shit up.

  • @clavo420 Not knowing how to cook...need I say more?

  • Haha forget the low fat cooking spray.

  • his kitchen is amazing!!!! I WANT!!

  • he didn't boil the potatoes.

  • And remember: Not knowing how to cook, it's like not knowing how to fuck.

  • These are insanely good. I have been making them for about 2 years now. I make them about twice a month. I'm amazed that I have not gotten sick of them. They are really easy to make too. If you don't want to make your own tortillas, you can buy "homemade style" tortillas from the store, they are almost as good.

  • that looks amazing

  • No offense but that's seriously a lot of goddamn work just to make some breakfast tacos. Tortillas from scratch??

  • @maddash24seven Not if it's whatever am and your making for the entire edit staff. Perhaps if it's just for 1... well I probably still would.

  • @rivercraig definately better to do it properly! thanks for sharing

  • @rivercraig well dont make them for breakfast , instead of chips or popcorn make 2-3 of these fuckers and enjoy your damn evening watching a movie.

  • @rivercraig totally. it's all about just learning how to handle flour. most people shy away from it because it seems messy and like more time than it's worth. understandable. you are going to make a mess at first. but once you get the feel for it, it isn't any messier than any thing else and bread, pastry, pasta, biscuits, dumplings, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, everything are all within easy grasp.

  • @rivercraig they dont call him the one man film crew for nothing...

he makes movies from scratch, why not his dinner??

not knowing how to cook is like not knowing how to fuck...

  • @maddash24seven

It actually goes pretty fast with practice. They also store very well in the fridge.

  • @maddash24seven - Tortillas made from scratch are the closest thing to heaven. Totally worth the trouble. My hat off to Rodriguez for doing it ol' school!

  • @maddash24seven Drink while you make it....

  • @maddash24seven No shit, the Puerco Pibil was way easier! WTF are you on Robert Rodriguez!?

  • @maddash24seven NOT IF YOU WANT THEM TO TASTE GOOD AND BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAVE COOKED

  • @maddash24seven Not knowing how to cook is like not knowing how to fuck.

  • @maddash24seven - Nothing, but nothing tastes like freshly made flour tortillas. Once you have them you would know why people make them from scratch.

  • @maddash24seven I mean just look at how awesome it is! Plus you end up feeling so good!! Cooking sometimes can be as gratifying as sex... ok maybe that was over the top but still it's gratifying :p

  • @maddash24seven its not that much work, and they are AMAZING, my brother and i just did it and we just ate them... im glad i made them

  • @maddash24seven it would be worth it

  • @maddash24seven I did this for 5 big guys (me included) and trust me. Doing it like, once in a while, is SOOO worth it. Sure it's a lot of effort just for breakfast tacos, but man... these are AMAAAAZIIIIING... I added in a sharp cheddar to the egg mix after taking off the grill, and I swear... these are to die for.

  • @maddash24seven maybe, they just taste over 5000 000 0000 times better

  • @maddash24seven Just buy the tortillas if you cant be bothered making them. No need to moan

  • @maddash24seven It really isnt that much work. Unless you're really lazy offcourse.

  • He would never make it on the Food Network because the camera spends too much time on the food and not ZOOMED into his face like regular FN hosts do.

  • Somebody should post 10 Minute cooking School, Texas BBQ, from the Planet Terror DVD.

  • I wanna work there!! ^_^

  • "then dampen a cloth with warm water and put it on top of there and let it sit a good 20 minutes why you go do these other things."

= 10 minute cooking school FAIL.

  • @idlewild LOL. Obviously, it's not a fail. He explains to you in ten minutes or less how to make the dish; that doesn't necessarily mean it will only take you ten minutes to make said dish.

  • could you put the ingredients for the tortillas in the notes, please? Would be useful.

  • Dude, you have an awesome fucking house.

  • Thumbs up if you crave this so badly now :)

Robert Rodriguez is the man! gotta try this stuff soon.

  • the tortillas making takes too long...

i guess u just make giant patches and save it for later.

  • AMAZING kitchen

  • i like his little motto at the end. hah.

  • Sounds great. It would be more awesome with green chile, too.

  • Ok, who cleans up the mess???

  • @selket51 The guy with the camera.

  • @selket51

    his wife, duh!

  • @NightManiacsInc

duh, well he can clean up his own mess!

  • @selket51

hey that guy can cook some good ass food, after making awesome movies & then cooking really good food, the least his wife could do is wash the dishes

  • @NightManiacsInc ...I don't think he has a wife, his place is a mess!

  • he's so damn right, it was a couple of days ago that i tried it and it was soooo good. actually i want one right now! lol

  • 50 Free Youtube Subs Here watch?v=uD5Zi4ZGLhM

  • i see all my Episodes TV[.]UsNetxxx[.]com

  • the way he edits it is why hes got the food network beat.(well, not the only reason)

all FN shows are basically the same format,

just a different person talking to the camera

    RR puts it together different

he narrates instead of just talking to th camera and edits the potato, onion, tomato, and jalapeno choppingpart down to just a few seconds which would have taken like 3min on FN

  • @raunchy1313 No, he beats the food network because the Tacos are delicious. The homemade tortillas are the best you'll ever try.

  • Did you get that, Food Network?

  • i got a giant tortilla maker for my bf a few years ago and now we make these alllll the time. so frickin good! homemade tortillas are infinitely superior to storebought. thanks for the upload! :D

  • REAL FOOD. VIVA MEXICO CABRONES!!

  • "Not knowing how to cook is like not knowing how to fuck." -Robert Rodriguez

  • I just made this.......OMG! THEY WERE LOVELY!

  • not that i got my own recipe but if u do can u use ur own recipe for the tortilla?

  • I don't know why anyone who lives in Austin, TX would ever need to make tacos. They are available at all times of the day and night and for cheap!

  • think about the clean up and dishes! D:>

  • hahahha he is funny and so coolo

it makes this so serious and a bit scary with the music hahhahaha

  • So if "not knowing how to cook is not like not knowing how to fuck", where's the 10 minute fucking school with Robert?

  • wow! I soooooo want a kitchen like that ! (and the skills)

  • Made this last night and it was gooooood.

Too lazy to make the tortillas from scratch, though.

  • The most difficult part of this recipe is making the tortillas..... he makes it look so easy BUT if you dont have a food mixer it can be a tortuous ordeal. If you have one then its not a problem but ..... boy oh boy, try making them by hand, you wouldn't want to do this at 4:56 in the AM :-) Sorry Robert :)

  • this seems harder than puerco pibil. lol

  • Yummyness! I would so like to be around there helping him or watching him while he cooks. And feed him with my own hands ;)

  • gosh, he is so hot

  • He's not bullshitting. I made these and I crave them everyday now. These are awesome and more than worth the trouble of making them.

  • Can he PLEASE get his own show on Food Network?

  • thats the fucking mexican spirit Robert FTW

  • This is an amazing recepie. Thanks!

  • My dad is a great cook, I never needed to cook and now I regret not learning from him. lol

  • @TheMovieLinker It's a good thing we have youtube and google theses days, all one has to do is buy the ingredients and then search how to cook it online.

  • gotta make these again. Had a time where I made those every night just to nail the recipe. Only got it right a few times, gotta try it again because it is a great recipe!

  • lmao this is a good video. informative and funny

  • sooo goood, my stomach is growling like the cat from alice and wonderland

  • 1:00

    LOL

  • man i just did this....it was an EPIC failure....i forgot to add milk to the eggs and my potatoes were undercooked : ( although the tacos themself came out good lol ill do it again sometime

  • @ross011101 It took me about 10-20 tries to nail this recipe down pat. Soooo worth it though.

  • DUDE !!! This is friggin AWESOME !!! Im making these TONIGHT !!!!

  • u r the master

  • For each set of eggs, did he put in three eggs per set or six eggs per set?

  • jajajaj... please explain the background song

  • It's from the SIN CITY soundtrack. You can hear this in the movie when Gail kisses Dwight.

  • Rodriguez would do a video podcast cooking show.

He's got all the technology at his house, I'm sure he could knock one up every couple of weeks.

  • "First step: get those flour tortillas you usually find at the store....get them out of the fridge and through them in the trash, they are garbage"

    LMFAO

  • "You will crave it everyday and every night for the rest of your life."

I thought he was totting his own horn until I made these and yeah.... I crave them everyday and every night.

  • I know Mr. Rodriguez is way too busy to do it,but I wish that he'd go ahead and fill up a DVD with 10 minute cooking school vids. I suspect it would sell very well, and a DVD like that would make a great birthday present or Christmas present for a lot of people. Got a kid going off to college? Make sure he or he takes the "10 Minute Cooking School" DVD along...

  • I love this video!!!Home made Flour tortillas r the best i learned how to make them about 5 years ago and i havent went back to store made tortillas...not the same and the migas r also very good especially for the little ones, u mix in Corn tortillas w/ eggs and they r like "WHAT" very goood!!! Thanx for the video nice to know men can make FLour tortillas as well

  • 1:00 My HERO.

  • there's something so unbelievably charming about him.. he should definitely do more of these

  • Hes sooooooooo HOT! i could watch him all day!

  • this would take me like 30 minutes to clean up. :(

  • Just clean as you go. Really helps.

  • me encanta, soy de mty. y por mas que quiero hacer las tortillas de harina, no me salen, se ven deliciosas en una manana rica y acompanadas de un delicioso cafe..............gracias robert

  • 8-0!! He's very good!!

  • this is like a vegetarian breakfast taco. nice!

  • Aside from the lard, which is optional. :D

  • He is not an actor. He is a director an producer. And it is not the fact that he can not afford a maid, it is the fact that he loves to cook you chowder head. Gees

  • Food Network doesn't deserve Robert Rodriguez. Thats why he keeps everything independent.

  • Make more videos!

and get onto the food network, ive been watching it forever and its gotten so boring and dull and everyones all smile smile nd uppidy. lol

watching this video is so chill nd yet at the same time i hecka feel like i could make all that stuff!

food network please find this RR

  • Robert Rodriguez is right, the way to get in between a woman's legs is through her stomach.

  • Yeah : don't know how cook is like don't know how fuck .

  • You said it bro.

  • @PleaseLookAtMyCock Hahahaha XD You are a fucking legend, you know that? =D

  • This is very similar to Indian dosas.

  • Well Mexicans (most) are also descendents of Amerindians, so I guess it makes sense.

  • these are great! i think masa tortillas are better though, and instead of making two diffrent taco variations, I just added all the ingredients together + bacon lol turned out really good... the puerco pibil was tasty!

  • @SaucisseMerguez What does a big kitchen have to do with cooking ability? And he didn't grow up with all that stuff. It's stuff he's earned as he went along. Don't hate. He's worked incredibly hard to get where he is, and he isn't greedy or ostentatious.

  • RR is the best! Thanks for this cooking demo.

  • I made these on Xmas morning one year for my family. Needless to say they dissappeared in about ten minutes.

  • SOMEONE - PLEASE send this to the Food Network! They need someone doing this type of stuff. They need a show with someone who isn't an over-the-top DORK!

This guy is so relaxed and cool that Women and Men BOTH like to watch him cook. Love how "edgy" the video is done too!

  • I agree because Food Network has gotten so boring. It needs someone like this.

  • @michelleinlaguna that's cause it's robert rodriguez... famous movie director

  • @michelleinlaguna "The Robert Rodriguez Show" on the Food Network? ... That is actually not a bad idea at all. So many men are afraid of cooking but he makes it a really cool (and actually kind of blokey) thing to do. Good idea! :)
