  • *duh* - haven't listened to them in years. Makes sense :)

  • Awesome tribute to Andrew Wood, RIP. Chris Cornell rocks!!

  • Eddie Vedder ounce said that Mikes guitar playing sounds like something coming from the heavens.

  • McCready is a fucking guitar god

  • golden grunge right here

  • Didnt they do a collaboration called Temple of the Dog as well.. awesome music was produced in Seattle back then!

  • @avgjoegeek The screen in front of you IS temple of the dog.

  • @avgjoegeek Um yeah. Chris, Stone, Mike, Jeff, Eddie and Matt ARE Temple of the Dog, and this is one of the songs from their album.

  • Pelle d'oca.

  • These two guys are (in my opinion) the best vocalists out there. Still after all these years they're great. Such vocal ranges and lyrically amazing. Certainly been my biggest inspiration. Please check out my channel if you can and let me know what you think of some of my songs.

  • epic shit ... =')

  • Another great timeless song.

  • WOW, they really sound fucking awesome together. Really.

  • Great Fck'n Collaboration. Really Outta Sight!

  • This is magic. Pure and simple. RIP Andy, but thanks to everybody else for remembering him.

  • scott stapp dude? shhhhh just be quiet dont compare eddie with scott fucking stapp

  • @bertl025 What fucking retard compares Creed's lead singer to Pearl Jam. Someone please smack the idiot who even dared to compare that drunk failure to Eddie Vedder.

  • cornell is spot on on this...after all those years. fucking amazing.

  • The video quality WTF!!!!! This song is so genious and then THAT!!!!!

  • Mike is fuckin' dirty! Reminds me of Jimi!

  • Chris and Eddie should make a duet album. Their voices go together like chocolate and caramel

  • Eddie Vedder's a great singer, but he can't touch Chris Cornell.

  • The have totally different voice Stamps, i guess you can't compare, but maybe with scott stapp you can a bit. And than i tell ya, Eddie can 50% of what Scott can reach.

But smthg no debate about it... THEY ARE ALL GODS OF MIC

  • @ORIONPOISON Stapp WISHES he had as much vocal talent as Eddie possesses in his pinky finger.

  • I want to be like THIS mike

  • me es raro ver a stone gossar en ese lado del escenario... Mike va alli

    jejejje

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • amazing!!! i could listen to the temple of the dog album everyday the words are so amazing and mean alot to someone going through rough times

  • Its all about Mike & that guitar man!

  • My heart skipped a beat at 8:21 lol Double eye and ear candy. Thanks fluttergirl1!

  • That Temple of the Dog Album is one of my all time favs. Just beautiful. Cynical and inspirational at the same time. Powerful words spoken on how to get through the shitty times of life. Thumbs up if you like my comment!

  • This song is amazing. "Temple of the Dog" was the first album I ever bought and it remains my favorite. This song is part of the reason why.

  • OMG love em both!!

  • Just amazing. Seen both live many times. F'n awesome.

  • hellllllllllllllllll yeah

  • Man.....Matt Cameron got to play with 2 of the greatest bands ever....One talented mother fu@ker

  • This song is beautiful. The lyrics describe Andy as a man who would reach down, pick up a crowd, and carry them in his arms to the promised land while spreading messages of love. And thats exactly how he would want to be remembered.

  • @goody3004 look up beyond the wheel 2010 and then tell me he can't sing the high notes like he used to.

  • Is it just me or does Chris look kinda ripped & muscled up in the video?

  • @soundgarden114 dude, he's always been ripped

  • This is the greatest song to come out of Seattle.

  • When will pearl jam come to Peru?

  • dude this is 7 years ago his voice could be shit now or better but its def has nothing to do with today.

  • Damn! This is sick shit, man, absolutey perfect version of this tune

  • Not exactly... Chris Cornell is still awesome, but nothing like he was at the time this song was released. He is one of the greatest vocalists of my time, and I'm 32, but he doesn't sound the same s he did. He can't hit the high ones like he used to, but one of the greatest and my favorite. No way anyone can ever scoff at the mention of his name or it being synonymous with the greats.

  • @goody3004 well he can do it again now :DDD look up beyond the wheel 2010

  • @goody3004 not true man! check out his new shows with Soundgarden.

  • totally hopin pearl jam decides to do some touring with soundgarden this summer...matt cameron is drummin for both so im gonna keep my fingers crossed

  • Its wierd cause he sounds awesome in this

Yet in the same year he released live stuff with Audioslave and well...go see for yourself

I'm glad Chris' voice has recovered, now and that he's back with SG

  • Haha halfway through Chris and Eddie and like "see ya"

  • One kick ass tune!....BTW, I'm 50

  • how about you make ppl listen to this and they have no clue smack em i say

  • rock n roll royalty. Two of the greatest singers of our generation. This is as good as if Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury got together and belted out a tune together

  • you're right....i'd also say that the plant from way back in the day and the cornell in his prime would have some epic tunes as well.

  • i once read an old piece of publicity (for soundgarden's first album) and it said something like "the robert plant of our era) XD really!

  • lol sweet.

  • @jd5150 finally someone gets it

  • @jd5150 you got it...Dont forget about that generations Layne Staley and scott

    Weiland?

  • @jd5150 if Eddie Vedder is one of the greatest singers of our generation, we are a very sad generation indeed. =(

  • @malfeam No its not all about range, he puts an amazing amount of emomtion in to it

  • @Annonymus121 putting emotion into something does not make you good at it. it tends to make you have a stronger interest, but it does not create technical skill. i could put my heart and soul into making a wooden chair, but if i'm not good at making wooden chairs, the chair is still going to suck no matter how much i put my heart and soul into it.

  • @malfeam of course skill does play a signifigant part but range is not everything, skill and emotion go hand in hand in my opinion you need both.

  • so proud, so glad and so thankful to GOD that i belong to the 90's!!

the person who filmed this just touched heaven that day!!

  • @Suna9 fukin -a rite!!!

  • my god this is MUSIC dudes this is he shit 2 of the most awesomes lead singers from 2 of the most wonderfull bands on history of music togheter. what more could you ask for?

  • Yeah!!!

  • It's a Dog's Temple... awesome.

  • could you imagine seeing this in a small bar or something... i mean wtf i would lose my shit. i would lose my shit if i was at either one of their concerts and the other walked out..this person here was super fortunate. awesome vids.

  • I am Incredibly jealous of the poster of this... Luck guy or gal.. FUCK IM JEALOUS!!!

  • man modern music is shit

  • @justaroo I agree!!

  • @justaroo

As long as bands like Pearl Jam and Soundgarden are around I will fight anyone who supports this notion (...not literally of course, you'll probably kick my ass)

  • Eddie Vedder on backup vocals pwns my face.

  • wtf is up with eddie's hair? when was he a blonde? lol

they went to smoke a joint during the guitar solo?

  • he went blonde after layne staley died as a tribute

  • ah yes.... makes sense.

    thanks dude!

  • I believe Cornell did the same too

  • @demravager layne has nuthin to do with that song!

  • @steviedelag

someone asked why vedder's hair was blonde. i said it was because Layne Staley died in 2002, and for a while Eddie had his hair blonde as a tribute.

  • i remember sayin that 2 somebody and got laughed @ glad to see im not wrong

  • @steviedelag layne might not have anything to do with the song, but this performance was around the time of his death so as a tribute, eddie had his hair blonde.

  • How old is this?

  • Yes, it's Eddie singing backup. I remember he went blonde for a minute. Love this song. RIP Andrew Wood

  • poor chris... must miss playing with matt atleast...

hopefully we can hear more of them together in the future...

  • he chose to go solo.

  • no doubt and I love Pearl Jam all the more for having been fortunate to secure him into the band.

nonetheless, I miss Kim Thail and Ben Shepherds beautiful writing, playing, and distinct vibe too.

and it's great to see PJ manifest back into Temple of the Dog for a couple songs... Use it or lose it!

  • good point... chris also chose to release a justin timberlake-like album that made me want to 'scream'.

i hate how things have turned out i wish soundgarden would reunite...

  • Is that Eddie Vedder singing back-up? Doesn't look like him.

  • What would you give to go and see this live...

This shit isn't on the shelf.. this is the good stuff hidden under the counter! This is awesome!!!

  • Was just remarking to my friend earlier that I would shit myself if I saw this performed live, with the full TotD lineup.

  • AWESOME

  • thats great that chris and matt got play on stage again...that must have been weird.

  • That's what I'm talkin bout -

    (ps Reachdown - YES PLEASE!!!!!!)

  • MIKE MUTHER FUCKIN MCCREADY!!!

  • you gotta REACH DOWN!

  • Everytime I watch this I get shivers up and down my spine....so good!!!! TOTD reunion, SG reunion, any fascimile thereof, BRING IT ON!!!!

  • True, do discussion necessary. This is super great!!! Thank yo to a few of my favorite musicians!

  • fuck me..what a solo...reminds me of that mad season live mega jam video released back on 96...incendiary as fuck..hail hail pearl jam!

  • Great! No discussion, just great!

  • There's nothing like Matt's on his Soundgardens-like groove!

  • Damn right, my friend !!

  • pj is my fav band..but yes i think that too....matt belongs to soundgarden...that style of drumming was so fucking great...it was kind of cream meets jazz meets metal....jack irons is like more punky-hard rock which fits well with pj...

  • i love the vocal solo in this song

    no one can top cornell

  • do they do like temple of the dog reunions like this oten?

  • Hey fluttergirl1 u should be change the title: REACH DOWN - TEMPLE OF THE DOG

  • No, this was in 2003, they split in like 92ish, its now 09....hmmm...so maybe one every twenty years or so...:P

  • Comment removed

  • Temple Of The Dog is on my top 5 of the best albums ever.

  • awesome video.. i was there that night.. unreal hearing this

  • This makes me kinda sad. Remembering how cool Cornell once was.... yeh hes gone all chest hair and soul... that mans skulls made of swarf and rivets one day hell wake up and realise hes been asleep for 10 years musicaly,..

  • What the hell are you talking about dude?

  • the garden need to revive...musically it cant be topped .. hes done some good stuff with the slave but hes now sliding into cheese. cornell for president hahaha save him..

  • this is my favorite album. of all time. fucking life changing.

  • yes....muy cierto hermano

  • One of the best fuckin' albums ever made.

  • This makes me kinda sad. Remembering how cool Cornell once was....

  • epic!

omg McCready is so fuckin awesome guitarist

  • che tempi...grande grunge!!!!!

  • the one album these guys made was perfect in evey sense of the word

  • AWESOME

  • great performance!!! wow!!!

  • almost like the 90's....ffffff awesome!!!

  • Is there like a studio version??

  • on the "temple of the dog" album

  • also this live version is available, but its on pearl jam's 03 fan club single, which can be hard to get

  • awesome clip

  • Love both Chriss and Eddie... both has a very powerfull voices... that´s grunge!!!

  • I love how Ed retreats to the background during Chris's vocal parts, only to come back when it's time for the chorus...one of the most humble and gracious musicians out there.

  • Eddie is such a champ. Love him.

  • EXCELENTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thats pretty cool, besides just having temple of the dog ur reuniting cornell and cameron again

  • just an fyi I guess... this is from 2003, but its also when Chris Cornell was drinking heavily and smoking like crazy, and he was doing the gritty blues thing with his voice for awhile because of it.

He's done this song live lately and if you hear him now he sounds alot better because he doesn't smoke or drink anymore. He sings a little different when he hits high notes but he can still sing really high.

  • ok i suck

but... its such a pity that chris cant hit the high notes like before.

  • such a pity cris voice cant hit the high notes like before..getting older sux

  • you suck!

it´s all about SOUL, not vocal gymnastics!!

  • damn right!!! go away and hear opera!! this is not for you! :P

  • Waht BrazilianFreak said. And it's the smoking that got to him. And the drinking, probs.

  • lol haha yep

  • just one thing to note here..... this is not Pearl Jam with Chris Cornell... this is in fact... Temple of the Dog with Eddie Vedder.

  • Eddie Vedder was part of Temple of the Dog...

  • Eddie Vedder sang on a couple songs but wasn't an actual part of the band itself. More of a 'contributer' than anything.

  • but vedder's still implied when mention ToTD

  • Even Flow is one of those very few songs where the band hangs back and lets Mike just go to town. I've even read remarks by the band that pretty much state this to be the case. Reach down is a similar song. Have you not listened to the TOTD album? The recorded version of Reach Down is 11 minutes long, and a lot of it is the band just letting Mike go to town.

He doesn't do that on every song.

    CMAx

  • That was a reply to JIrvingG, by the way. I don't know why it showed up here.

  • This is soooo awesome!!!! But pity Chris didn't do those end screams...

  • I agree with JIrvin G on the McCready comment....... Mike is amazing you're right but nowadays he doesn't listen to his bandmates at all, and he gets it wrong quite freqently. Stone 7 Mike used to jam a lot back in the old days... now its a rare thing :(

  • I wish I was there. I would have been having a heart attack. A good heart attack.

  • Hey, why oh why is this video not called Reach Down - TEMPLE OF THE DOG?? The line-up is all the same. Who won't agree that when Cornell steps on stage with PJ with Cameron behind drums the band automaticly mutates into TOTD? They should be named the way they deserve it.

  • this two guys can not be together, the world may explode! Fuckin' perfect

  • I feel bad for Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell could have told him "here is your ass" after singing together.

This great song also shows the talents of Matt Cameron and Mike McCready as one of the most underrated guitarists.

  • Matt Cameron is the drummer... but yes, Mike's is a hell of a guitar player

  • Sweeeeeet fluttergirl!

    Peace,

    Keri

  • I wish they would do a tour agian!!!

  • Matts just like "FINALLY i get to play like the beast I'm supposed to be!" LOL

  • this is what its all about who cares who done what with who this fucking rocks !!!!!

  • If Soundgarden not finshed, Matt will not joined Peal Jam, and it will be Temple of the Dog. :)

  • Temple of the Dog wins.

  • this is fucking awesome!!

  • lol...the ultimate rock lap dancin albumn........i cant just imagine some curly haired blonde doin her thing to this....aint heard the track in ages lol

  • MAN ! That perfomance epitomizes what it's all about for me !!! Musicians giving each other the space to shine and totally feeding off each other. I think they are tighter now than 'back in the day' too !! WOW!

  • This might even better than the original

  • I love Chris Cornell's voice.

  • Chris Cornell and Pearl Jam are awesome!!

  • This is not just Chris and PJ, this is Temple of the Dog, to be exact...

  • stone is RHYTHM guitarist. Mike is a Lead Guitarist and Plays 90% of PJ's solos Stone is no where near as acomplished a lead player as Mike. Why do you think he's with PJ? Stone can't play like that. he's a great writer...great player...not like Mike is.

  • yeah Chris wrote the words...Stone and Mike wrote the riffs and solos

  • The band was formed in tribute to Chris's roomate who died of an overdose Andy Wood. Chris wrote this song in his memory and fromed it with the orginal Mother Love band Stone(rythm guitar) and Jeff (BASE). The band is composed of Sound Garden, Pearl Jam and Mother love bands awesome combo

  • where does it say that? I'm pretty sure Cornell wrote all of this track including the music. Not trying to be a wanker, I just thought Cornell was the author.

  • He did. It says it on the album booklet

  • yea he wrote the album for Andrew Wood when he died

  • Actually chris wrote most of the music on the album

  • It was actually recognized as a Cornell solo album until Pearl Jam got big.

  • Stone played some great solos in Green River, but i think that mike is the superior guitarist. However they're both incredible

  • Mike Rips Stone a new one on ANY solo ANYTIME and ANYWHERE EVER.

  • solos arent everything and im sure stone wasnt trying his hardest. stone's the man.

  • I was actually at this show. It was at the Santa Barbara Bowl in California. In fact, it was the best seats I've ever had. A buddy won them through the fanclub...4th row front and center!

  • oh yeah... cool.. i think i can see you at 4:21.... also, as a side note, i've got a 27.875 inch cock. it had seats in the 2nd row, front and center.
